Ngozi123: I disagree. Many Yorubas here have insulted Igbos unprovoked – even before all of this "Lagos is no man's land" business. Too many of you are ignorant of Igbo culture and judge it by what you see in Nollywood films.
I will give you one example of your people's tribalism from someone I know.
He is an Igbo man and was sharing a room with a bunch of other Nigerians (mostly other Igbo men). Only one was Yoruba and he brought his relative to stay with them. His relative (another Yoruba man) foolishly believed that all Igbos were ritualists and would kill him in his sleep if they could.
Did you know that when this guy had a seizure, it was those same Igbo guys who saved his life? If not for them, that Yoruba man would probably not be alive today.
Many of your people have backwards conceptions of Igbo people before they even open their mouths so please don't blame Igbo people for your own ignorance and misconceptions.
Thank you The misconceptions and hate is mutual and rightly so. We can only manage it. |
Politics › Re: Eko Row: Benin People ‘Owned’ Lagos, Awori Paid Royalties To Them - Erelu Abiola by Pristine664: 3:50pm On Dec 03, 2023 |
sreamsense: Ipob/Igbos/biafran fabricated story sponsored on vanguard. Is it today fabrications and lies are reported and sponsored on daily papers? Tommorow now if you investigate further, it will end up being debunked. Is it because omokiri has proved beyond reasonable doubt that yorubas brought out Igbos from jungle to civilization in almost every aspect of humanity like education, religion, language development etc.?
Even oba of Benin that said it has forgotten about the issues, but some enbittered igbos kept on sponsoring fake articles in their usual known antics. Why not allow this matter to rest since it is too late to reverse the history to make Benin or Igbos to rule Lagos? So Igbos should let the matter rest because they carry the matter on their heads even more than the oba that said it The battle for the soul of Lagos is real. The only viable state in Nigeria. |

Saltinny: They have been crying since all their propagandas was exposed. They can lie but Nigerians are wiser now . Yorubas should firstly fix their brown roofs before they can start comparing themselves with the Igbos The brown roofs only shows how long they have evolved. Disgusting bunch of bigots masquerading as politicians. Pay time will surely come, can’t you see your propagandas is no longer working, we will continue to expose you and your people Those guys were only reacting to generational insults. You think Yorubas were tribalistic with their conduct in 2023 election? Just wait for 2027. We are wiser now. |

Ngozi123: The truth of the matter is the British developed Lagos, not Igbo and not Yoruba. After the British left, Lagos was still the capital of Nigeria and it was then developed by all Nigerians.
To say that Lagos was developed by the Yoruba is like saying Abuja was developed by the Gwari tribe. I have never seen anyone say the latter so why do you people keep insisting on the former?
My Igbo brethren that insist on saying Igbos developed Lagos are wrong. No, we didn't develop Lagos but we helped to, just like all Nigerians did.
Lagos is Yoruba land but considering its history, as long as it's in Nigeria, Yoruba people have to accept that it's for all Nigerians. You can't have your cake and eat it two. If at least 30% of Igbos see things this way I'm very sure most of these quarrel and dragging won't exist. You can't consistently insult people's sensibility and expect them not to fight back. Na Igbos dey always cause wahala with their utterances. |

FreeStuffsNG: Hmmm. This is very interesting. So it shows that in just less than a century, people were still walking around and living in unclothedness in present day South East Nigeria. Wow!!
Those in the top row are the Yoruba women of those days. That's exactly the way my loving Iya Agba dresses in those days and we will all be falling over one another to prostrate before her.
Those Yoruba women move with so much charisma and confidence that you dare not misbehave even in their absence. Those women were equally educated and rich!
That dressing of the Yoruba women you see up there costs a fortune o. Pictures of Yoruba women dressed like this over a century ago are now interesting subjects of studies in Yoruba history and culture today. As a proof that the Yoruba culture is ahead of most other Nigerian/African tribes, unclothedness has never been part of Yoruba history and culture. I learnt that there are still some parts of present day Nigeria who still appear like those other set not wearing clothes as at that 1920. God is great indeed.
The Yoruba civilised the Igbo yet this is not taught in our history books so that young Igbo can see and value and appreciate what the Yoruba did for the Igbo, we were made to memorise what Mungo Park did instead of teaching us what our Yoruba forebears including these Yoruba women did to help the Igbo tribe attain this present age civilisation. Smh Na that line weak me pass "in Abakaliki, not even a fig leaf, much less a loin cloth is worn" No wonder these guys still brag like an uncivilised people till today. Like someone that is just experiencing civilization and still in culture shock. "Na we fine pass", "na we good pass", "na we develop everywhere"

raskymonojendor: Perverted men plenty in that region. They barred women from putting on anything. No wonder history news not made mandatory in high school or was it even completely removed The Portuguese on expedition in the 18th century were just having sex with their women anyhow. They were more like sex slaves in their own land. One of the reasons they still have many fair skin guys among them. |
