Hi Homies100, Muslim - 30+ Muslimah - 25+ That simply, silently and unconsciously encourages late marriage, which our deen does not preach. I think the title is perfect, but the opening post needs some adjustment. What do you think? I am sure you got some reasons for this. You wanna share?? Salam! |

Many people think .NET is actually a language, the reason for the common question, Do you do .NET or PHP?. I think this dude is one of them.LOL +1 Any one currently in trend will understand .NET is now a monster and still maintains its record of being "Classy". This has been the reason why many organizations still see it as the only platform to build "Enterprise" solutions. Abeg no Press P o, we just dey relate. |

I encourage folks, whether employed or unemployed to take advantage of the IOT. In the next few years, we gonna have lots of success stories from smart people who leverage on the cyberspace to make a fortune. Check out all the young founders and CEOs of today, there were startups about 10 years ago. Wise uP. |
Crispels:Beautiful. I was in your shoe exactly 6 years ago. First of all. if you are in penultimate or finals, then forget about enhancing your cgpa. Focus on your politics, you need to realize your full leadership potential. You have won elections, you still have supporters and loyalists, so its gonna be easier for you in your next election/appointment. Another option is don't contest, just seek high-ranking appointment within the union. In conclusion, combine both. Student unionism when done properly give you even more opportunity to do those things you talked about (Toastmasters, JCI, UN delegate thing etc). Your political sagacity and comradic charisma will help you anywhere you go, trust me. Thank you. |
Are you on a startup team? What if I tell you Microsoft may swallow you soon, well that is a possibility for a company that has acquired over 100 businesses in the past. Like it or not, Microsoft is everywhere. From its origins as a super-hot startup in the 1970s to taking over the world in the 1990s to its current reinvention, Microsoft has a long and interesting line of story about how they got to where they are today. Some of the “wow” facts about Microsoft and lessons to be learnt have been served below for your consumption, Enjoy: 1. Analysts estimate that Microsoft's explosive growth has made for at least two billionaires other than Gates, and as many as 12,000 millionaires. Like former CEO Steve Ballmer, who bought the LA Clippers for $2 billion in 2014. Well, you see why you never have to limit your challenges but rather challenge your limit. Your little start up today can become the unicorn tomorrow especially if you prepare well now. 2. Microsoft cofounders Bill Gates and Paul Allen designed the company's first logo in less than a day. The funky "O" was called the "blibbet.". You are a programmer? So what. You must be able to design, print, scan, repair laptops and clean your offices. That’s the simple definition of an entrepreneur. 3. In the 2000s, Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer often appeared in silly motivational videos for Microsoft employees, like this Austin Powers parody. This is my favourite part for real. Work doesn’t have to be so boring with low morale to add salt to the injury. Infact, you and your team should go out there and have some “technical” fun. 4. Microsoft was founded in New Mexico. The company was actually founded in New Mexico back in April 1975. It wouldn't be until 1986 that the company moved to Redmond. 5. Microsoft’s employees are referred to as Softies. To Microsoft when you say an average softie, you refer to us to an average Microsoft employee. The lesson here is for managers to sit down and think of ways to make employees proud of the organization they work in. This will also boost confidence level and resolve issues of low self esteem when they are out with colleagues from other places. 6. Microsoft Holds Over 10,000 Patents. Here is the issue of intellectual property. You guys really need to take this serious. Make noise and properly document any new discovery no matter how small. 7. In 1997, Microsoft saved Apple from almost certain bankruptcy by making a $150 million investment. Steve Jobs announced it on stage at his first appearance as Apple CEO, to boos from the audience. Like seriously? Well everyone is happy now. So get this in friend. Do some investment in sister companies in the industry. 8. In 1995, Microsoft released Bob, a custom version of Windows that was aimed at making it easier for new users to get around their computer by making it look like a "house" with "rooms." It was just weird and got killed swiftly. Guys, think of new ways to make things easier for your users/customers. Nobody really cared how much work was put in place to do a marquee or even an AJAX call on a single page application, even if anyone cares not the typical business user. All these guys want is just ease of use and flying graphics. 9. Microsoft Uses Codenames. So what? Well start using codenames too. Though it’s all about terminology and technical jargons, but it gives some form of protections and secrecy to products that are not yet released. 10. Microsoft’s Sales & Marketing Support Group has the largest percentage of her workforce. Technical guys be like, Really? Yes man. After the whole coding and testing, who’s going to sell? Who’s going to bring the business? Who maintain the bigger picture while you guys get down to specifics. This is weird but absolutely the fact. Please pay attention to your sales/marketing/business unit. Source: http://www.techproducts.com.ng/10-wow-facts-microsoft-lessons-therewith/ |
Thank you Thomas. You got/part of a startup? |
It is indubitable that the Nigeria’s economy is currently in shambles. The various indices have given insight into the quagmire of problems our economy is currently facing. The most dynamic societies in the world are the ones that have the most entrepreneurs, plus the economic and legal structure to encourage and motivate entrepreneurs to greater activities”, said an analyst. However, it is very clear that these structures talked about are currently not available in Nigeria. Despite these issues, start ups are still the potential unicorn and must maintain focus along the line of greatness. The following will give you the motivation you need: 1. Stay Positive “Life is not the way it’s supposed to be, it’s the way it is. The way you cope is what makes the difference.” – Virginia Satir When you and every member of the team stay positive, you’re putting yourself in the best position possible to not only make it through those bad times, but become better in the process. You can do one of two things when life takes a turn for the worst. You can remain positive and remind yourself that there really is a light at the end of the tunnel and that you’ll make it through, or you can curl up in the fetal position and relegate yourself to being nothing more than a victim of circumstance. 2. Get Creative There are times when you can’t do much to change your situation. You just have to deal with it. But there are other times when you can actively work to make the situation better. Now is the right time to think of other verticals, afterall it’s a startup. Are you currently targeting financial industry? Now you can look into creating apps that show filling stations and current pump price, queue size, number of attendants, rate of sales, etc. The solution won’t be in plain sight, because if it was you probably wouldn’t have gotten in that situation in the first place. But if you can take a step back and see the bigger picture, you may discover something that can help you. A great example of getting creative during a difficult time is the story behind Wrigley’s gum. The founder, William Wrigley Jr. was a soap and baking powder salesman in the 1890’s and he always offered free gum to all of his clients. With his career as a salesman taking a turn for the worst, he noticed one thing that forever changed his life; people loved the gum he gave away more than the products he was actually selling. It was that one creative insight that got him through that difficult time and made him a monumental success. 3. Learn From these Difficult Times “Facing difficulties is inevitable, learning from them is optional” – John Maxwell Take a review and see what exactly is being affected by this down time. After evaluating this, then brainstorm on the ways this can be fixed by thinking of alternative solutions. Do you all have personal cars and fuelling is now a problem, one option is to reduce cars and arrange a place for a meet up where you pick yourselves up. You can do a rotation of whose car to use on weekly basis. 4. Realize you’ve come a long way Sometimes we get so focused on the road ahead, that we never look back to see what we’ve already traveled. Give yourself credit for everything you’ve already done. Think about startups that have started and gone dead till date. You’ll give yourself a confidence boost when you realize that you’ve already made so much progress and the light at the end of the tunnel will get brighter. 5. Focus on What You Can Control, Not What You Can’t Some situations are beyond your control and no matter what you do, you can’t change a thing. You and your guys will be setting yourself up for frustration when you focus your time and energy on things you can’t control. You’re also making the situation seem even bleaker than it actually is because you’re focusing on the negatives. You should instead focus on the things that are within your control because that’s the only way you can make a change that’s actually going to help you. Make a list of everything you can control about the situation and divert all of your focus towards those things. Anything that’s not on the list, doesn’t get any attention. You are the next big thing! cc:lalasticlala See how you can team up below: Source: http://www.techproducts.com.ng/motivation-nigerian-start-ups-trying-times/ cc:lalasticlala |
I am presently working in a good Construction company well organised , better contract prospects, regular salary, no intimidating from management but no possibility of career growth, my pay is relatively small compared to what is obtainable among my professional colleagues, no assurance of getting up to 30k increment in the next five years and am distance from my family (visit twice a month)What is your level? Your career prospects at this level? If you are a starter, your PRIORITY should be where you will DO more not earn more, if you are a mid-level guy, do more, and get paid If you are a senior guy, you should be looking at leading a team and getting paid SERIOUSLY. If you are like me, just be a 7 Star Worker where ever you are. Acute business mind + constant work on self development + gather means to survive independently. Regards |
Fundamentalist:Fundamentalist, you have erred against your brother. Please apologize to Monstaof for disgracing and rubbishing his comments in public. Brother, there are better ways to raise objection than what you just did. This is a cyber space and we need to put up good examples of what our religion truly preaches. Masalam. |
nurez305:There are many prayers specific for some requests based on the content of the particular dua. However, one option is to do nawafil( 2 rakat) then do the following after the nawafil: 1. Ask for forgiveness (Astagfirullah) 2. Thank Allah for everything that you have today (Alhamdulilah) 3. Blessings on the Prophet (Allahumo soli ala mumhammad wa selim) 4. Perform Zhikr (declaring and reaffirming again that there is no God worthy of worship except Allah) (Lah ilaha ila lah) Then make specific duas in any language. Then Allahuma robana atino fiduniya asano tan ...................... till the end. Finally, subuhana robika................ till the end. May Allah grant our requests |

Hello Friends, Just changed location, and there is a dog in here. How can I get the dog to know me and like me. Though, its 3 weeks now, and its no more barking at me cos I have given him a lot of treat in close range. He already knows when I am at the gate. But I am still scared to chill with him. For now, it must be chained before I come in or do anything in the compound. Is there any other trick I need to apply?.. NB: He is adult and a mixed breed. Thanks friends. |
