PoliticsRe: President Media Chat On 29th September 2013 by prodam(m): 10:19pm On Sep 29, 2013
@italiano1 yes comrade. You really made points there. And I am sure any change-driven Nigerian would know that the country needs not just a new leadership system but also people who have leadership qualities peculiar to Nigeria. A nation with multitude of problems
PoliticsRe: President Media Chat On 29th September 2013 by prodam(m): 9:55pm On Sep 29, 2013
All those talking for the president should stop being emotional or sentimental but rather be objective. Statements like 'he is calm', 'he is civil or that' are no valid points to absolve him of any blame.

Thanks guys. That's it.
CultureThe Role Of Culture In Creating A Better Future: The ‘omoluabi’ Concept by prodam(op): 12:43am On Sep 05, 2013
A world where shamelessness was a taboo, a world where children took their parents as their earthly Gods, by according them utmost respect, a world where the young respect the old, a world where greeting served as an agent of love and affection, a world where parents would gather their children and feed them with fairy tales about how to live a responsible life, a world where decency was highly celebrated and nudity is greatly penalized. That was the world in which the greatest people the world ever had lived in. That was the time when moral values were given primacy and attended to. The total way of life and idiosyncrasies of the then people actually propelled their greatness and achievements majorly because things were done the ideal way. Those were the good old days when my culture was really put in to practice and not just on the books of art.

Our cultural values have been abandoned and the world is in disarray. Now is the time to respect our unequaled wisdom, values and lifestyles by going back to the old days in order to build a better future that we desire.

As a sufficient instance, I present to you a brief detail of the YORUBA culture. The Yoruba identity could be summarized in a behavior of a typical Yoruba man. As far as Yoruba ethics and teachings are concerned, a typical Yoruba man is respected through his hard work and his contented with what he gains from his handwork. This man is most described as Omoluabi in the Yoruba encyclopedia.
A typical Yoruba man is courageous and firm in his dealings. He doesn't tell lies irrespective of the circumstance. He is ready to fight for his right and always at alert in a defensive manner. However, he is not foolhardy.

In a sentence, The Yoruba philosophy is based on “Iwa lewa” meaning Character is beauty. And to the Yoruba, Your ATTITUDE determines your ALTITUDE in life.

Also of which I take pride in is in the aspect of “family as an Institution”. In the Yoruba culture, the family is a sacred entity. A typical Yoruba family is child-centered, ruled by the elderly, and controlled by adults. It is also the most effective agent of socialization. The family teaches the first lessons in discipline, personal gratitude, and affection. The family is where young people are exposed to their first preferences and prejudices. In the family, the lessons in honor and shame are learned.

Fortunately, there is good news. The good news is that majority of the people in world today have got greater potentials and even more opportunity to be liberated from all forms of problems that could be faced by a living man. The world today is fast advancing and technology is simplifying lifestyles. Sadly, the result or side effect of this turns out to be a display of insanity, in view of this it is highly necessary we all join in the crusade to eradicate moral decadency and further degeneration. Just like the nature of a typical Yoruba family, our families should be built on sound intellectual engagement centering on love, respect, decency, character, dignity, chastity, and responsibility among others. As prescribed by the Yoruba culture, children should imbibe the spirit of selflessness, humanity, peaceful co-existence and industriousness. Nobody is absolved of these blames even me, but the idea is making fixes where necessary and ensuring moderation. We should seek a time in the future when mediocrity would be a sin and genuineness would be celebrated. With all these taken into consideration, a better future is assured.

salt 1: Because Shaytan has been telling him!
@op, what does it cost a man to be a true Muslim? I can understand a woman pays heavily: hijab, polygamy, sometimes limited education with all its attendant prizes.
But the Muslim man's life looks like a fun ride: sleep with 4 women(with some as young as...), just say your mandatory prayers, no alcohol etc.
Sorry if I seem to derail the thread, but when I read sanctimonious threads like this, my mind goes to real committed Christians, not Muslims.
What sacrifices do Muslim men make for their faith?
ur mind goes to a real committed christian? Why not just a christian?.now let ur mind go to a real committed muslim and not just a muslim, by that u wil be able to solve ur puzzle and get ursef enlightened about Islam and muslims. Find one and come back to relate your inference.
I hope this helps.

The 1st ever was in River state and now this is 2nd involving youths disrupting sittings and injuring members. Actually changing the content of Nigeria's history. After all, the only constant thing is change, so now we are in an era of jungle justice, brutal killings and use of hoodlums publicly. The next generation of History books about Nigeria would contain something new, even though it is culmination of insanity.

@ javanian, actually, what you stand to gain depends on what you want to gain. By default, you gain anything obtainable from being in a community of experienced, smart and exposed programmers and other ICT personalities. Also with the environment furnished in a standard ICT style, you will feel the spirit n aura of coding when you are around.

@topic, kudos 2 the financial IQ app team, you guys did a great job there and kudos to the winners too. The competition attracts the best of ideas just like the previous competition organized by seedstar and several others in the past.

In my country, everything good is abused even in the spiritual realm!...

Democracy, Football, Judiciary, Legislature, etc are on also on the list of things Nigeria do with absurdity.

Everything is just towards making cool cashand perhaps serving other personal interests

PoliticsRe: Can South West Produce A Presdent In Nigeria Again? by prodam(m): 10:27pm On Jul 28, 2013
Yes, because south-west is also part of Nigeria. So any one from that region is eligible and can be the president of Nigeria.
That will be my answer except a basis or reason is indicated in respect of the question asked.
PoliticsRe: APC Vows To Shut-down Abuja If They Are Not Registered by prodam(m): 10:08pm On Jul 28, 2013
As much as we Nigerians desire peace, we are however resistant to oppression and obvious corrupt practises.
I see no valid reason, why APC shouldn't be registered.
Declare the platform open and let the one who the cap fits win. Nigeria is a 'mega-nation', it's governance should not be an easy ride for any one, there should be lot of options to choose from, reasonable and qualified though.

Anyway, further comment reserved till after the said date.
PoliticsRe: Hamza Al-Mustapha Visits Asari Dokubo (Photo) by prodam(m): 10:02pm On Jul 28, 2013
Even if he visits Obasanjo or any strong man in Nigeria politics, the polity need not be heated over that.
After all, people believe GEJ is actually delivering the dividends of democracy and fulfilling his promises, if truly so then no one from that camp should be worried or wary of Almustapha's visit or monitoring movement of opposition. If actually and obviously enough GEJ is working, a good turn deserves another, Nigerians are not blind or dumb, he will be re-elected. Simple!..no need to start calculating politics of numbers.

Leave opposition, work and convince Nigerians, the democratic way.
CareerRe: How Did You Succeed With Your 2-2 Or 3rd Class? by prodam(m): 10:48pm On Jul 26, 2013
Making a 2-2 or 3rd class can never set a limit for you except if you want it to.

Work on yourself, I mean your inner self, you know what you want, you know why you made that grade, you know your strengths and weaknesses. There is something you have a burning desire for, pursue it at all cost, even if it is still academics. Cause a change, be a source of inspiration to others, stand out by ignoring the failure of people who were in your issues and trusting and impressing yourself.

I have lots of friends with 2-2 or a few with 3rd class, who are doing greatly in various disciplines, both within their original fields and outside.

Your result cannot solely determine ur altitude, what determines that is your Attitude especially in a country like Nigeria where a whole lot of factors could decide one's fate.

On a final note, Discover your life PURPOSE and the world would adore you like ROSE.

Wait! Wait!, what's the source?

An intellectual forum like this should not be littered with unconfirmed reports borne out of sentiments or speculation and based on personal dealings of politicians.
Fact is sacred. It should be kept so.
Also, it is of more benefit if we spend time on making redress and effecting change in issues affecting the Nation and not on party-based or politicians' activities which are always geared towards protecting self interests.

EducationRe: New Definition Of Marriage To Change:oxford Dictionary. by prodam(m): 10:41pm On Jul 25, 2013
Better its on dictionary. It doesn't change our ideology.
We would just need to specify when using the word 'marriage' by adding the sex that constitutes it as the case may be in the context being used.
So now there will be marriage involving two opposite sex or the other.

However, Gay is total absurdity.
EducationRe: I Graduated With A 4.49 Cgpa In Accounting In My School Really Unfair by prodam(m): 10:16pm On Jul 25, 2013
First of all, understand you are not alone in that shoe or probably they are people in similar shoes.
So just include it in a bracket after your class of degree on your resume. Like CGPA of 4.49 out of 5.
Employers do consider it when necessary. Both home and abroad. Moreover, its highly advantageous in Academia.

HoLEEsinner: I pray isnt too late, baba is unpredictable, obj is someone you cant fight in day and beg at night, thats owu people for you, forgiveness isnt in babas blood. Atiku should serve as case-study.
Exactly!
Infact, the probability of getting his attention and approval is close to zero.
A lot has transpired within and he has an interest separate from that of the party. He is becoming an elderstate man and has to protect the interest of his region so to speak.
Its hightime Gov Akpabio and his cohorts realize that. Governors that spends time achieving other people's goal in a bid to have a stake and gain love at the expense of their primary assignments in their respective states.
