smatt1711:You're from Imo yet you're here advocating for a people that always deny their roots whenever it suits them? Please desist from preaching love to those that deny you. Try and have some dignity and stop this show of shame. If Amaechi believes he is Igbo and accepts it wholeheartedly, then he should go to Ogbakor Ikwerre and inform them. He belongs to a soceity/group that distances themselves from the larger Igbo race. So, he can't belong to two different ethnic groups at the same time. You can't eat your cake and still have it. Majority of people in Delta North accepts their Igbo identity and we will always identify with them as brothers unlike those that are neither here nor there. |
smatt1711:You're just being naive, and if you continue with that mindset, then know that people will always be taking advantage of you and exploiting you mercilessly. |
smatt1711:Where are you from? Are you Ikwerre? |
OsuIgboIpob:If you're truly Yoruba then you should be sad over what is happening in Illorin. These lands were supposed to be your ancestral lands, inherited from your forefathers but has been taken over by Invaders. Even Ojukwu volunteered to help you guys get it back from them but your leaders lacked the courage to close ranks with Ojukwu but instead chickened out. Is this not the worst form of modern day slavery. |
Did anyone even ask him? He should stop flattering himself. |
Really!? The way I'm seeing this issue, Yorubas should kiss Ilorin and other areas of Kwara and Kogi goodbye. The fulanis have completely entrenched their hold on these places that they can't possibly let go, even if Nigeria breaks. The guy is even saying that those Yorubas complaining are settlers ![]() This is nothing but see-finish, and they know can't do anything about it. This is really sad, you took over their ancestral lands, imposed your own people to be rulling over them and when they complain, you tell them to go to hell |
Crofton:I feel emotional each time I look at the missed opportunities. At the rate Southern Nigeria was developing during the late 1950's and early 1960's was fast that we would today have been far advanced. But look at our sorry state! If you read in-between the lines about Ojukwu's later to Banjo, you will see that Ojukwu was only desperate to see that all of Southern Nigeria was liberated. Awolowo earlier complained that Northern soldiers were stationed all over Lagos and Ibadan, and so his hands were tied to do anything militarily. Ojukwu was wise enough to work with a Yoruba as the commander of the Western region liberation army. He did that so that Yorubas will know he has no ulterior motives. You said his later reeks of direct interference in Western Nigeria's political affairs but that's not true. You saw where he told Banjo that they would meet later after the liberation and discuss how Biafran forces will pull out. He Ojukwu admitted that their presence in the West will only be temporary. He was even willing to help Yorubas liberate all their territories under Northern occupation, including Ilorin and all the way to Jebba and the River Niger. These were very ambitious and risky project that would involve Biafran lives and resources! For Ojukwu to demand for certain conditions weren't out of place. I feel sad in this because even Awolowo knew that Hausa/Fulani were out to enslave other regions of Nigeria. So, why did he fail to take up that opportunity in resisting the North, even if it means going on exile and controlling things from abroad? Had it been the Yorubas teamed up with Biafrans, there is no way on earth Nigeria would have won, even with all the foriegn help because they would have been overwhelmed. Ojukwu was also hoping on Western support in fighting against the North which would have bought him more time in ramping up resources to execute the war. The failure of the Western liberation army contributed in no small measure to the loss of the war by the Biafrans. Look at Nigeria today and tell me who made the right or wrong decisions in 1966/67?? |
Multiplier7:There is a big problem in this country, everything is being taken to the North with impunity. Rails, roads, pipelines, appointments, money and everything of worth is being channeled to the North while the regions where the resources are generated are grossly neglected. Nigeria has a date with history because no country has ever survived state sanctioned injustice, they all end up breaking apart. It happened in USSR, Sudan etc.and Nigeria will not be any different. |
Forgness:Lol, I said it. Bla bla bla yet no iota of sense made. It's obvious you don't know anything about Fiverr/freelancing or how it works. For me to be working on Fiverr and rendering services successfully while flying the Nigerian flag already proves that I'm contributing my own quota in making it great. It's a virtual global community where almost all countries of the world are represented. You're the one who poverty has messed up real bad and it's affecting your mental state. I had the opportunity to travel out to the same US not long ago and I passed it off to my brother because I felt he would need it more since he wasn't doing much while I was already earning good money effortlessly, and going abroad will mean setting aside my passion. I have a direct brother and sister living in New Jersey and New York respectively as we speak. I repeat, your thought process is totally warped and you're a bane to the society. |
Forgness:The more you talk, the more it becomes obvious that you're empty upstairs. Firstly, you lack the ability to read and comprehend. Why would a Caucasian contact me to buy land? My dear there are Nigerians abroad who like investing in properties back home and many of such have bought land through me. I guess you're too dull to even know that there are lots of Nigerians who are working on Fiverr and earning good money. There is even a page here in Nairaland where they discuss issues pertaining to the gigs they offer. You're the type of person that will call every successful person ritualist or Yahoo fraudster. To be honest with you, you're too dull and your thought process is completely messed up. |
Murketeer:Lol, don't mind them. I don't know if it's hunger or lack of education that has totally messed up their reasoning capability. The comments here alone shows how dum.b many people in this country are. So sad! |
Forgness:No apologies, but your IQ must be as low as that of a qnat. Imagine the nonsense you typed, my dear your education is a total waste! Look at his hypocritical holier than thou attitude. What have you done to make a change in the society? FYI, aside my other businesses, I also work online on Fiverr as a freelancer, flying Nigerian flag, and I know how much I earn offering legitimate services and earning dollars in return. Anyone who can work on Fiverr successfully can equally engage in fraud if the person wants but I can't even imagine it. I have worked with several Nigerians living abroad to buy land in Nigeria even without meeting one-on-one! So, the earlier you disabuse your mind that not every Nigerian is criminal minded the better for you. Do not try to project your own personal experiences with the sort of dishonest people you role with on others. I don't blame you because it's obvious you're a primitive man who lacks the ability to reason well. You're a bane to the society. SMH. |
Forgness:You're not getting it. No one is supporting those guys tarnishing our image. However, it is very bad for FBI to headline Nigerians while hiding other nationalities. What FBI just did is as bad as what those 6 Nigerians did. The effects will rub-off on everyone presenting the green passport in any foreign airport, including you and me even when we are not fraudsters! There were a total of 73 fraudsters on the list, so what's the criteria they used in highlighting only Nigerians as being wanted when there are 67 others of different nationalities, of which China, Russia and Saudi Arabia are more in number. They are trying to rope in all Nigerians as fraudsters or potential fraudsters and that is what everyone should resist by all means even when asking those doing these crimes to stop disgracing us. |
Patrioticman007:Yorubas made up 50% of that Nigerian list! Hushpuppy that is trending globally for all the wrong reasons and currently bringing shame to all Nigerians is also a Yoruba yet you have the guts to call others out? Are you okay?? |
Lol, by then it will contain 80% of the world's poor. They should continue having births like rabbits. |
FashionCookie:Aren't you preaching to the wrong person!? When a so-called government employee being paid with tax payer's money profiled a whole ethnic group due to the crime of one person, did you even call her out for displaying such foolishness publicly? |
Adiola:God bless you for this emphasis. Hushpuppy is not a person's name so we should be emphasizing on his real name and identity. The bastard who has put legit hustling Nigerians globally on the spotlight for the wrong reasons is Name: IGBALODE RAYMOND Ethnicity: YORUBA Nationality: ODUDUWA Let's not allow that Hushpuppy name to hide his real identity. That ugly woman called Abike Dabiri should take note of those that are actually tarnishing the already battered image of Nigeria. |
Biafrannuke:Dude, I'm entitled to my opinion. I have nothing against IPOB and neither am I a member. Now, will you get off my mentions already. |
LegendHero:Don't try to decieve gullible people by being half smart. What is happening in Southern Kaduna is ethnic cleansing by Invaders against locals. What is happening in this case is boundary crises between two neigboring communities in two different states. Firstly, I did not and would never support barbaric killing of people under whatever guise and I didn't do so here. Secondly, I have observed how most boundary crises happen in many parts of Nigeria, and it is quite common. This issue obviously did not start today, and if you dig deep, you will discover that there had been aggressions from both sides. Being the first to invite the media doesn't mean you're completely blameless. People can exaggerate and sensationalize issues like this. There is no evidence that people were killed, no names were mentioned and neither were pictures shown. When you interview the other community being accused, you may be shocked to discover that they have similar tales to tell. The best thing is for the government to intervene and put a stop to this crises between two neighbors that have existed together for ages. |
Angrace:Are you in that period of the month when common sense takes a back seat due to hormones? |
Biafrannuke:I don't discuss with people who have toutish tendencies. |
kolade560:Your problem is ignorance and lack of proper education. If only you did ordinary social studies and geography, not to talk of history, you would have known that Igboland ecompasses both SE and SS. The 6 geopolitical zones where only created recently, but Igboland has existed long before the British came to Africa. Any map that shows the ethnic make-up of Nigeria will show you the extent of Igboland which extends to the whole of Delta North, parts of NE Edo, most parts of upland Rivers, and fractions of Akwa Ibom and Cross River to even Benue. So because a stvpid geopolitical zones were created now means the Igbos in SS are no longer Igbos? Take some damn history books and read so you can gain some knowledge! I would leave nairaland soon because the kind of ignorance I encounter here is so disturbing. Spits! |
emapeteum:You lack sense and common logic. You lost Aba and Arochukwu? Nothing person no go see for nairaland. Do you know how many killometers of Ngwaland you will pass through right from Akwa Ibom border with Abia before you get to Aba? So, how did you lose Aba when it is lying in the middle of Ngwaland part of Abia state? You see how ignorant most of you from that state is!? You're also calling your brothers in Anang to come and join forces with you to fight, but your brain didn't tell you that the Ikwuano people can also call on other Igbos to join forces with them to fight you. This report is just a one-sided report from Ini LGA of Akwa Ibom, the people of Ikwuano LGA of Abia also deserve to be heard. They should also voice their grievances. Let's give peace a chance and lest I forget, no one is begging Akwa Ibom to join Biafra. They can chose to be wherever they want to be, it's a free world. |
johnmartus:To even compare your most developed part of the country with a ghetto in SA should be an insult yet you're not seeing that. |
Whiteangel1234:Lol, how much is the drug lord paying to warrant running amock singing his praises? Dude, Igbos don't believe in ass-licking a fellow man. It's not in our culture. Who is even giving you the idea that Ken Nnamani will stoop so low as to be a loyalist to the frog-eyed drug lord? Only low-lifes seeking for bread like that special adviser on gutter affairs will kowtow to Tinubu. |
tayebest:Ostrich! Nigeria has decayed badly and is not a question of inferiority complex or patriotism. The more you guys continue to defend this rotten state, the more it will continue to wallow in the doldrums. |
sweetsell:The guy is obviously suffering from delusion grandeur. If he had asked that question in 1965, I would have forgiven him but to ask such annoying question in 2020 is nothing short of madness. If anything, Nigeria in its current state is dragging Africa down. |
Afonjas are busy decieving themselves. According to this guy, Northerners are rooting for Osinbajo or Tinubu as next president yet both men are being humiliated everyday. These guys would rather support someone from Niger rep to rule in 2023 than allow another afonja man to rule again within a short period. What a comic relief. |
Arrewa:The more you speak, the more you expose yourself as an ewedu man. Why would you insult Northerners by saying they can't read and write? |
Chai, the afonjas will definitely not like this bitter truth. Just watch how they're going to leave the message and start attacking the messenger ![]() However, have it in mind that electing an Igbo man as president in 2023 is in your own best interest i.e. all you lovers of one Nigeria because at the way things are going, that is probably the only thing that could delay or stop the ultimate balkanization of the country. If you watch carefully, you will even see that Igbos are largely apathetic to the issue of 2023 presidency because many of us have lost hope in Nigeria. So, you all better know what you're wishing for. Modified**** I only replied after reading the headline but having read to the last paragraph, I can say categorically that this guy is 100% a Yoruba guy. He wasn't smart enough to cover his tracks. |
Daniel058:What has Ikwerre got to do with this? They can be from Futa Jallon if they like, no one cares! |
