I just have to comment. Exactly my experience during my IT Siwes. I don't think practice like this will end soon.

When Nigerians benefit from this practice we call it CONNECTION but when we didn't benefit we call it CORRUPTION. I wept for people that are morally upright because you can't be mortally upright and still be in those parastatals. Anyway na where man dey work him they change chop is their motto.

Sadly, some women are psychological damaged and in return transfer the aggression to someone closer. You may not be able to control her actions towards you but you can control yours towards her. Just don't look down on yourself and see everything she does as a stepping stone to becoming a great man. Atimes in life we need such people in our life. They are just like driving force that propel us into greater exploit.
The importance of mental health cannot be overemphasized but we joke with it in this country. Someone has mental disorder and the only thing that comes to your mind is 'Spiritual attack' or an 'arrow' from the village. It's really nauseating hearing such thoughts. You can't even talk about your depressing thoughts with anyone. Counsellors don't follow up on their counsellees, same with therapists, infact they start recommending spiritual houses and telling you to go for deliverance
I just hope we start talking it serious cos' it's not everyone that has the mental resilience to go all the way through. We all need mental assessment/evaluation from time to time.
Bro you are right on this. I used to have hard time trying to explain some of these issues to older ones around me but I just stop and quit discussing such conversation with them. Their statement usually ends with he's a child, what does he know. Some of these professional have apathy to their career mostly doctors and lawyer. Although, only few are excepted.
RomanceRe: What Was The Worst Thing You Ever Did In The Name Of Love by Professorcplus(m):
I was caught with pan cake foam with powder few weeks back then by a strict female teacher and was warned never to bring such item to school. But on this faithful day, my mum told me to dispose some antibacteria creams away so I kept it in my bag with the hope of disposing it. But as faith will have it, this same teacher was in class teaching us when she raised alarm that she perceived something like perfume. No one responded and I didn't have perfume so no need to fear; so the class continue. Few minutes later, my crush walked in with boil on her pointed nose. I felt her pain and decided to help. I dig into my bag and squeeze the cream on my palm for her to apply. Only for this teacher to notice and asked her "you just apply that" and she said yes. She asked "what is the name" she pointed at me.. I brought out the cream and gave the teacher. She collected it and saw it has experied. Chai

djon78:
1 Corinthians 2
King James Version
2 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Most of today's preaching is based on enticing words of man's wisdom which is powerless can't change anything.

And that's the preaching being done today in many churches.

It doesn't change or transform men
It has no direct impact on the society
The country doesn't feel the impact of the gospel
In fact the country seems worse off
Because something is definitely wrong with today's preaching:

The answer is that powerless gospel are being preached on most of our pulpits

The hearers go into government, public and private sectors and leave the institutions worse off
Because they didn't interact with the real truth. They had no light, because darkness cannot overcome light. Never ever.

Joseph, Daniel, Esther, Ezra in the Bible where examples of men that affected there environment by there potent belief in the God they serve.
Hmm @embolded sadly, there's no standard meter to measure powerful gospel message. If we ask each denomination, they will all hold unto their claims which is superior in their view backing it with scriptural references. So to avoid circular arguments which I usually avoid what I will say is find the "truth" and hold unto your personal conviction even it seem you are alone or minority, you stand on it regardless of if it cost you something.

Remain blessed.

believe or not believe, God can do something that will leave your jaw open,
Yes! Things happens that makes jaw open but regardless not to xtans or "believers" . It happen even within circular people. You don't necessary need to agree with every clergy man but when it come to Sam, he knows when to balance been hardcore superstition clergy and been principled.

You don't like him because his message doesn't go inline with what other old generation pastors talks. There are different Churches for different folks. If you're the type that thinks God can do anything by deliberately jumping from high tower and won't fall or you think you can just plainly buy anoited handkerchief from MoG to cure cancer or std or you are the type that is willing to pray your way like a mad man into success without willing to take deliberate steps then his church and messages is not for you.

He hasn't done wrong by closing his worship center and also provide facemask for his members. He's been Practical. But not withstanding, it is your type of church you see someone die of the virus and their next prayer would be "Let's thank God weren't those that died of covid." See if you self died on Saturday, people in your church would still thank God on Sunday.

Don't be a victim. Stay safe! Watch and pray. Say no to blind faith.

Sam adeyemi is indirectly limiting the power of God and exhorting science
If you like condeme Sam it doesn't change anything. His teachings are practical biblical sermon. Just that most xtans prefer superstition teaching. It's people like you that prefer to hear A women give birth to a baby holding a Bible in his hand after 10 years of marriage."

FamilyRe: I Am Proud Of How I Was Raised, That's How I Will Raise My Children by Professorcplus(m):
lreneidiva:
Lol! These toxic people out here are praising their parents for abusing them and giving them marks. Smh. Who told you that you turned out well? Most of you are also abusive to people under you. You are horrible to your maids and even your children and you believe you turned out well. You fight and insult people here and you believe you turned out well. Smh.
You spoke my mind. In my opinion, it's all about the family and exposure to the environment. I have a case study of two families. Just look at this scenario.

Family A: Husband abuses and insult wife with words, sometimes hit wife while she loosely talk back or rebel.
Out of frustration, wife talk hashly to children on any slight issue sometimes hit children and slibings.
Slibings grew tough skin and hatred and develop strong wing to rebel among parent, friends and sometimes hit themselves.
The children then relates in the environment where is only the superior adult do the beaten and the inferior adult one get beaten.
To further escalate issues, almost everyone in the environment generally becomes eligible to "hit" or oppress/abuse the inferior ones they're superior to with little or no rebellion.
This has caused a psychological impaired set of adults, who thinks they can "hit" you so far they are superior to you. After, it's normal thing and a way to correct someone.
Such child also grew up to become adult with the same mentality and ideology because, that's the best way to make the infant stick to correction.

No wonder an average Nigerian is aggressive.

But does it work? Yes, only to people born and bread in such environment.

But you can train a child without abusive hitting but it lately depends on you, family and environment. Children were not born to become aggressive, stubborn and rebellious, its the environment and family relationship that made them so.

Family B: Husband respect wife and is a good role model to wife and family. Wife give back honour and respect to husband and present a good image of father to the children.
Both parent gives room for children to explain themselves in case of wrong doings and mischievous and give them unbiased decipline to defaulter irrespective of who's superior or inferior. Doing so, promote a relationship with love, respect, reputable laws and morals to uphold. Also, among those closer to them. Such child takes to correction than the one in "Family A" without abusive hitting.

But right, "Family A" is dominating because we are living in an insane society with angry, toxic and bitter people as a result of their awful life experiences and Nigeria is not even helping matter with increase in Petro price.

ps help me understand what you mean by ''audio book''?
No need to think far. It is the same content of the book naratted by professionals. It's in mp3 or compatible format.
It has a unique voice all through the narration either male or female.

Although, windows pdf app allows you to listen to pdf files if supported. Open with the app and click on text to speech icon. There are about five different voices from deep male voice to tiny female voice just that it sometimes doesn't take notes of some punctuation marks, page number, page header and footer. It just read everything on the page. It could be cool sometimes for simple pages

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ... 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 (of 42 pages)
