ORIFLAMEDORA:Very on point. Especially the embolded ones. You see at times when you start hearing some kind of aggressive prayer points, towards house hold enemies, familiar enemies in the father and mothers side, and evil friends you will feel pity for them self. You can even become depressed after hearing some awful stories they shared and how the prayer suits them. Afterall life na war. |
Interesting.Good day, Nairalanders, guests, co commentator, panel of moderators, supermode and my fellow romancelander. My monika is professorcplus. I am here to oppose the notion which is" YOUR RELIGIOUS LEADER CAN DECIDE WHO YOU WANT TO MARRY" with my following points. According to the Holy book, there's no where God told Someone this is your wife, right from Adam, to Jacob, to Joseph, to Isaac, to David, to Solomon. They all went to search for what they want in a woman. Even the greatest plan God have for mankind which was Jesus Christ, God never told Joseph this is your wife Mary; marry her. So if any religious con men should tell you God reveal who you want to marry, detest if it's against your will. Is it God that want to marry her? Secondly, marriage is more of canal than spiritual. It's physical attraction first if we don't want to get deceived. Sadly, people seek for spirituality or visions for future spouses. If we dont seek spiritual assistance from some con men to make daily friendship then why do you need them to get your life spouse? No wonder more of marriages build on spiritual/vision usually ends in divorce. Lastly, it will be hard to break any relationship that is been backed up by most religious chalant because many wont support the idea of divorce even when one of the spouse is been violated. You either die in the marriage than divorce to live afterall, God hates divorce. I hope with this few point of mine, I have been able to convince you and not confuse you. Thanks |

Good work you're doing @op. Your thread is very educative. I now understands the quote " variety is the spice of life". I can proudly say your writing made my mind travel abroad even through I never visited an airport before . I know lots of people whom travelled abroad and I am of the opinion that if everybody travelled out, who would develop our dear country. But at time, when Nigeria reality hits you hard, you would consider travelling out. Anyway, I'm enjoying the discussion. Nice work! |
Righteousness69...To be Honest with you sir , with the way you are going, you may be back here with tears and stories that touch the heart in no distant time..You are right bro. Not all these fairly tales .This is the major problem with Christianity marriage. We spiritualize relationship. Relationship is more of canal than spiritual. Why don't we seek God when making new friends? Why must it be in relationship. Even in the holy book, there's no where God told Someone this is your wife, right from Adam, to Jacob, to Joseph, to Isaac, to David, to Solomon. They all went to search for what they want in a woman. Even the greatest plan God have for mankind which was Jesus Christ, God never told Joseph this is your wife Mary; marry her. So why must we ask God to show you want you want? Is it God that want to marry her? I don't blame you, I blame most of these pastors that see visions for other people. Imagine a pastor telling a grown up guy to go to street x, he should branch after the third turning. He will see a house painted brown. He should find the door made of iron. He should knock and enter. The lady wearing pink shirt with white skirt is his wife. I just laugh. Even after seeing some red signs, they still stick with the relationship. Afterall, it's God that showed me and my pastor approved it. No wonder Christian marriages have the highest number of divorce. A divorce partner is better than a dead one! |

Sometimes, I find it very disheartening when you found yourself in a society where they wanted to conform you and your personality to their standard especially when you're fully under their control. I wished I could have that environment where I could freely express myself and thought without having to let it according to how the people wanted to hear but sadly, should I say my voice never count. I was raised in an insane neighborhood, a typical face me house rented by my parents. My parent could not afford television so I had to watch it elsewhere. Maybe, they wanted something better, but couldn't afford it. I was a typical loud child as a result of such environment where neighbours play loud music back to back, a house full of gossip, full of people of immoral deficiency. As a result of these, my mum whom hold a strong belief in her faith made sure I never mix with other "bad child". This was how I spend my childhood with just a few friends. Few years down the line, my few friends left our neighbor and i had no choice but to make out for new friends. I personally developed self decepline as a child even in school but sadly, I have no friend we both share the same interest with. I wanted to conform and be like them but I just didn't always fit in. A generation of astray kid. I wouldn't want to lie, I wouldn't want to steal, I wouldn't want to always do what other kids feel it's good, I felt dejected, I struggle with my pride, I wrestle with my pain, sometimes I feel alone, and I cry. I was just not among. I figured out my environment wasn't just for somebody like me. I was always proud within my peers. Well, I care less. Finally, I find solitute been alone, and I developed my personal interest, independent of the environment. Generally, environment influences people's trait but mastery over ones self. But, I never end there, i am always in trouble, big trouble. Nigeria as we all know is a very religious country. I lived with diversed people with different belief. Sometimes, I felt I was a prisoner. My parent seperated, and had to stay with my grandparents for sometime, I had no choice but to pick their ideology and belief even when it wasn't forcefully. Living a life with a traditional worshipers come with another idea and form of living. I was quick redrawn by my mum whom hold strong faith in SU Christianity faith as a result of her "village people" experience. I had to stay with a very closed friend of her. Its a family whom had a son and daughters within my age bracket and for the first time, I felt among. I openly share my ideas so we had some few things in common. Even when the family was a muslim family I was treated like a son. I felt loved. I was typically smart among the children, I was taught Arabia and taught in the Islamic way. I was quick withdrawn from their family for some unknown reasons. I felt pained, fell sick. No one understands me. I stayed with other family mostly brought up in the SU Christians ways. I was among them but I don't feel among. I made my choice never to become nussience to the society. I have decided to stand out. I will never let my experience define me. I finished secondary school with few friends, entered universities and I just have to be focused, I have my principles, I never follow the crowd. I decided never to do certain things my mates are doing not because I am "God fearing" child. I was made to feel I was missing out, I never let peer pressure overwhelme me. I want to make my standard. Which is why I respect introverts when I see one. I am an introvert and I'm proud to be one. Introvert have great minds and with the right opportunity they change the world. |
O, people like you are uncommon. Help people if you can and never expect anything in return. And pls, don't let their actions change you from your good deed. |
Anuoluwa1234:Damn! It could be a bloody hairy gorilla behind this Monika.

Nawo! Only in Nigeria criminal is judging criminals. |
yanabasee1:I did not come to prove who's wrong or right. Point of correction @embolded, this is the definition of atheist from google a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods.So far as you disbelieve in other gods then you are atheist in that aspect. So I also have my own God I worship but the idea you gave your God is subjective and personal conviction nothing more. I hope you are enlighten a bit. What do you think? |
Lol @op Just let them be o. That's the way some sugar daddies want then, big ass and boo, fine face with empty skull... |
Why would anyone become an atheist?? Sha, me I believe in God and it's been ages I went to church tho..... I don't give attention to people who wants to ask me questions about my religion..... if they intrude way too much, I will just lie and tell them I do go to church and have them leave me alone.... One pastor did that, said he hasn't been seeing me go to church, told him I was just returning from church even, and I was on a very casual outfit where I went to get me some next cash and carry family loaf bread and juice.... He knew I was lying and since then, he stopped disturbing me....
@Embolded you are also one if you have disbelief in other gods. For example, most Churches shade other traditional worshipers and their idols/gods because they don't share their beliefs. Same goes to you... Let's turn the table around. Let assume you found yourself in a community where they worship the stars ( sun) but you felt secluded from their activities because you have unbelief in their sun God. You become an atheist in that community... Simple and short |
Why must politics be involved in everything. This is free service for God sake. This is product of failed country where common health center can't even survive... |
lokobyforch:Funny is the way most congregation take their pastors and God serious is not same as the way some pastors take God serious. Only if these congregation pay close attention to their pastors personal life only then they will know that your pastor is driven by personal interest they are only using the congregation to achieve their own life dreams. Only in Nigeria everybody wants to become a pastor or best own a church in their names. You see them fighting over sharing formula of another man's tithe. Some even make jist behind closed doors with other pastor in crime of how some members narrate their life problem to them like as if they themselves didn't have problem. They even competite for the most anoited when on pupilt. Some envy another when the church is getting more audience. It is not about God or Christ... It is more about business and survival. |
When I was a kids stories like this were drilled into my skull by adults who couldn't think objectively, and has rather brought fear to them, but now as an adult I wouldn't be passing this to younger generation because I would rather looked like a lunatic to them. |
Hmm, can someone give me the similarities between Micheal W. Smith and Toks208 life experiences ...After his older Christian friends moved away to college, Smith began to struggle with feelings of loneliness and alienation. After graduating from high school, he gravitated toward alcohol and drugs.[9] He attended Marshall University while developing his songwriting skills but dropped out after one semester. He also played with various local bands around Huntington, West Virginia. During that time, his friend Shane Keister, who worked as a session musician in Nashville, encouraged him to move to Nashville, the Country Music capital, and pursue a career in music.[10]1. They both found themselves in a society full of attrocities. 2. Both suffer from addiction from childhood and willing to change. 3. They both found comfort in their beliefs about Jesus Christ. 4. They develop passion and interest to change lives through their life experiences. 5. While Smith Keep looking for the missing person through Christian musics, Toks searches for his own through writing...well I hope both of you finally find that missing person in you.
