Irony1:You reason like a crude uncivilized ONITSHA main market or Ariara market trader or Alaba trader. Psychologically, your reason is shallow. Only fools will not know what your reaction is. Post a link of your reaction when Ihejerika name the barracks after Jonathan. One thousand ants cannot lift a cube of sugar, they can only perambulate and confuse themselves the more. That is the case of Tinubu and the ants making noises here. |
Irony1:The best thing that happened to me was attending University in IBO land several years ago. It gave me the opportunity of deep knowledge about cultural orientation and behavioral pattern of the IBOS. There is nothing that is happening now that is a surprise to me. Somebody drew your attention to Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barracks but as far as you are concerned that is irrelevant, what is relevant to you is the naming of Barracks after Tinubu. The way it was in several years ago in the University is still the same. One thousand ants cannot lift a cube of sugar, they can only perambulate and confuse themselves the more. That is the case of Tinubu and the ants making noises here. |
Odingo1:Most of you are depressed and frustrated. Who called Ijebu, Egun, Ilaje and Awori fake. We are just hearing that today. Did you know the history of these people. Even, the Ijebu you mentioned is subdivided into different very distinct groups. You are talking about Yoruba groups in Nigeria when there are Yoruba kingdoms in Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana and latin America. I can see a lot of frustration here. Tell us your story or history from Israel. |
MERCHANDISER:Yorubas cannot feel bad because someone says he is not Yoruba. Never, Yoruba doesn't even want attachment. We know our story, history and our root up till Togo and Ghana and those taken to Latin America during the Slaves Trade. That is why I have been asking questions about Oba of Ogbaland in Rivers State on this thread but Intelligent people know where I am going. IJAWS are in Ondo State at the Riverine area where Ilaje settled from time immemorial. No Yoruba will feel bad because IJAWS say they are not Yorubas despite that many of them bear Yoruba name. Omoyele Sowore is an Ijaw from Ondo State. It was during Jonathan's era his Bio data shows he is an Ijaw. He mentioned his village, clan and location. He had since removed all that now. We know our story up till Kwarra and Kogi State. Mind you, there is a difference between an Ikwerre man from Rivers saying he is not an IBO and someone from Ondo State saying he is not Yoruba. Ondo is a Yoruba State, Rivers State is not an IBO State. |
discusant:I have known Ogba kingdom in Rivers State since the military era. The Oba of Ogbaland is a Prominent King in Rivers State and in Nigeria. Over a decade ago and especially about 5 or 4 years ago I am yet to hear the name of the Highly Esteemed Traditional Ruler. Is it that history is being rewritten or the throne has changed title or the Kingdom changed name? I asked these questions because Kenneth Okonkwo people can do anything to rewrite history. I have a reply for the junks you wrote out of frustration but I need a reply on the Oba of Ogbaland, Rivers State. |
Tochitee:I have known Ogba kingdom in Rivers State since the military era. The Oba of Ogbaland is a Prominent King in Rivers State and in Nigeria. Over a decade ago and especially about 5 or 4 years ago I am yet to hear the name of the Highly Esteemed Traditional Ruler. Ojuntana:Your generation is a fool. They are creating nuisances everywhere. You are very dull and uncivilized. You are bringing a nairaland topic about a commitment treaty between Amaechi and Ajimobi in 2019 as a confused human being challenging Minister of Transportation and blue economy statement as a frustrated BIAFRAN , you refused to learn. https://www.icrc.gov.ng/ibadan-inland-dry-port-will-be-delivered-within-two-years-%E2%80%95-shippers-council-boss/ The above link is in November 2021 between Executive Secretary of Shippers Council and another Oyo State Governor - Seyi Makinde in November 2021 where the fate of the Dry Port is under probability. I visited the place twice in 2022 and early 2023, the fate still under uncertainty. Now minister spoke, you are talking like a typical IBO beating chest over nothing. |
SatoshiX:We know them. They are frustrated and depressed. |
Ojuntana:You are a fool. Globally, you are known to be fools and that's why you are creating nuisances everywhere. The Minister has delivered his message to the National Assembly. I have visited Moniya several times you are too irrelevant in the scheme of things for me to lecture your generation why the place is as it is after many years. |
Jamieb:It is a budget defence. Provisions for funding is likely in the budget. |
Ojuntana:IBOS seems to be frustrated over everything. I monitored comments on the meeting between Ogoni people and Federal Government. Because of the presence of Wike and Fubara, the IBOS on nairaland refused to believe the agenda of the meeting is on the resumption of oil production in Ogoni land. Your comment above shows how frustrated the people have become and it is a very sympathetic situation. The link above was after Federal Government created Inland Dry Port in Kaduna and proposed the establishment of Dry Port at Ibadan to decongest Lagos Port . It was just a commitment by Federal Government and Oyo State Government to establish a Dry Port using railway line to move containers to the Dry Port. This is to reduce trailers and other congestion at Apapa and Lagos Port. Containers going to North can be loaded at that port. I am not sure Federal Government release Fund for the project. Now, IjebuOde Dry Port is for containers going to East and other locations along that route. These two will greatly reduce congestion in Lagos. There is an Inland Dry Port in Lagos since military era and many Private Port terminals were created during Obasanjo civil rule but the congestion, bottleneck and infrastructure decay along port axis at Apapa is much. |
seunmsg:Thanks for the information. Personally, I know that is the purpose of the meeting. I believed Tinubu will meet all the request made by the Ogoni people. The presence of Senator Magnus Abe and Senator Lee Maeba is an enough assurance that they will get what they wanted , their presence will also give President Tinubu assurance that he will get the cooperation of the Ogoni people. The South West elites (old generation) are sympathetic to the Ogoni cause and the death of Ken Saro Wiwa. I am very happy that Ledun Mittee is there to represent what Ken Saro Wiwa stood for and died for. President Tinubu should consider their request and fulfill all the obligations of the Federal Government. As a very young boy, I have friends in many Ogoni villages as at that time I lived at Onne. I remembered vividly I asked my friends why they have no NEPA light, he said it was a deliberate attempt of the Federal Government (military government) to underdevelop them and takeover their land because of crude oil. Years later, when MOSOP agitation was hot, I remembered what my friends told me. Till date, I cannot forget Ken Saro Wiwa and Ledun Mittee. |
Berrylite:That University is not serious. How can University resumes 3rd week of November when the session closes for Xmas and New year break mid or 3rd week of December? I have somebody studying Accountancy there, the only thing I observed she does is the ICAN entry level exams which is an external arrangement. |
emmatex2020:I can tell you Tinubu will do all that you mentioned if that is what the Ogoni people wanted and even do more than that. |
Lithiumite:80% of people on social media are fools according to what somebody said and supported by so many intelligent people. Most of the people making comments are not exposed. Daily Trust and their political elites that have been restless less than 180 days of Buhari leaving power never said anything when looting and mismanagement was talking place under Buhari. It takes any government at least 12 months of coming into power to start any major project. Despite inheriting a government with 96% devoted to servicing debt and collapsed fiscal and monetary policies with comatose economy where cash is being sold by transfer of 8K to buy 5K cash and no physical cash for domestic usage except to queue for hours at Banks ATM to withdraw 2K, the Tinubu government kick-started projects less than 180 days of assumption of office and stabilized Fiscal and Monetary policies. The message in Daily Trust is not about the company but about taking over of the project from Julius Berger. Can they award ONITSHA to Benin or Portharcourt to Benin to Julius Berger? Even, 3rd Mainland Bridge was constructed by Consortium of companies and not only Julius Berger. Dave Umahi is an engineer, the bid will have the names of key engineers and key projects executed. Those complaining are burdens to Nigeria. When Obasanjo left in 1979, he left over 20 planes and over 20 ships for Nigeria. In 1999, NNSL liquidated, Nigeria Airways in debt , Nigeria in great debt, he met $5.5 billion in reserve, he left over $50 billion in reserve for Yaradua in May 29, 2007. As at May 29, 2023 when Tinubu came look at an almost dead country handed over to him. They have no shame. |
AbuTwins:Why is the North always complaining about Federal Government? This started less than 180 days after Buhari left government. While Buhari was in power they kept quiet. Was there any antagonism from the South despite huge lopsidedness and high corruption during Buhari regime? You are talking about inactive company on CAC, 90% of companies in Nigeria are inactive on CAC website and they are not aware. The politics here is not about inactive company but about the contractor handling the project. This is the same politics they used during military era to abandoned Lagos development for years. They believed Julius Berger will do quality job , the cost of Julius Berger is irrelevant even if it is going to be 1,000,000 kilometers provided it is for the benefits of the North. They have forgotten Umahi is an engineer. There is no any well trained Nigeria engineer that will believe an engineering company can outperform another just because of name. Lagos Ibadan expressway reconstruction less than 130 kilometres was reawarded by Jonathan in 2013 but no fund. It is only Lagos to Sagamu which is less than 60kilometres that was given to Julius Berger because of fund, Sagamu to Ibadan which is about 70% was given to RCC . We know our experience. If Lagos to Ibadan were to be in the North, perhaps, they would have requested for the entire road to be given to Julius Berger irrespective of the cost. The Senate, Northern caucus leader raised alarm last year about double budget and listed all key projects in the North including that of Niger Republic. I drew attention of prominent Nigerians to the alarm that it was because of Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway Project announced by Umahi. Later, people found out it was because of that project . Later, Sokoto Badagry expressway starting from Sokoto was included. Engineer David Umahi should award projects to other companies that are very competent. Nigerian engineers that work with Julius Berger are not better than Nigerian engineers in other indigenous companies. Former top engineers in Julius Berger who participated in original design and construction of those roads own some of these indigenous companies. |
Dalohad:You can write whatever you like here. You said he is Licensed. Government has to take a look at that very seriously. |
Dalohad:He made mistake of asking you if you are an Ibo. As I have said for several years on different platforms, 99% of those who claimed they are Yorubas on Social Media are not Yorubas. Speaking Yoruba in Nigeria doesn't make a person a Yoruba. 60% of those that speak Yoruba in computer village and about 50% of those that speak Yoruba in Surulere and about 30% of those that speak Yoruba in United Kingdom are not Yorubas. Intelligently, we know those who are Yorubas. If you challenge the Alaafin of Oyo (Alaafin elect) or even Ooni of IFE about their nativity they will never reply you by writing in Yoruba on Social Media as imposters always do. |
Mervingreat:I don't know why they are troubling the woman. This is an injustice. The Yacht belongs to Kola Aluko. She is from Bayelsa, since military era there are individuals that own oil wells in Bayelsa and have been making hundreds of millions of dollar nobody is disturbing them, it is this woman and Dan Etete they are disturbing over oil money. This is injustice. |
AbuAeesha:Nairaland is being controlled by those people. They have seen news. They don't know that place is a border area and smuggling is very high. Smugglers are very deadly if you are standing on their way. The man was a Commander in an anti smuggling team. It is not a case of regular senseless killings we often hear about them |
OlawaleBammie:They are racist, worse than tribalists. Buhari complained that they gave him 5%. They don't see anything bad in their selfish, crude and greedy behavior. That is what happened in 1966 coup. All the fabrication and addition and manipulation of the 1966 Coup cannot change the real history that is in the Military Archive. They don't celebrate any actor, actress, footballer or any celebrity except he or she is from their tribe. Spiritually, they hinder and fight Nigeria in any sport except the key players or actors belong to them. Finally, to the young generation discussing on this topic about bullet not penetrating and his death. The hired assassins know the man is a very strong man and that was why they came on Sunday morning and in the Church. Just like how General Murtala Muhammed was assassinated on Friday on his way to Friday Jumaat prayer they came for him on Sunday morning and in the Church. Outside the Church, the hired assassins know the man will give them a fight. |
kenny160:This generation hates TRUTH and loves falsehood that's why Yahoo, Yahoo plus, hookup and general prostitution is common. Ajaokuta as I explained before is a compound word in Yoruba which comprises of ÀjÀ - I put the accent on it as it is pronounced (do do) in Yoruba which is an exclusive reserved place or a large settlement. Only a fool we call Áj pronounced in Yoruba as (re mi) which is dog the same as ÀjÀ (do do) the same thing. Even the Ebira people especially the Ihima people with great affinity to Yoruba language knows they are not the same. Okuta means STONES in its singular or simple form. Ajaokuta means large settlement of rocks in Yoruba. The falsehood generation believes Aja bird in their Language, OKUU to Perch and Stone which is IDA in their Language means AJA-OKUU-IDA is the same as AJA-OKUTA. The name is a Yoruba language the ancient Ebira people have many common languages with Yoruba |
Jetland:All this one you are doing up here is just to confuse yourself the more. Ajaokuta means a place with large settlement of rocks. That is the meaning of Ajaokuta in Yoruba language. That place is called Ajaokuta because it has large settlement of rocks. The ancient Ebira language have some common meaning with Yoruba language. At Ihima in Ebira land, they have many things with the same meaning in Yoruba. Igalla also have some common meaning with Yoruba language. I rejoice with them on the implementation of the mini LNG plants. I believe it would speedily facilitate the progress of the Steel project that has drained Nigeria Resources billions of dollars for decades without result. Also, Senator Akpabio should lobby NNPC to build LNG mini plants close to the Aluminum Smelting plant in Akwa Ibom before the crisis over its ownership is resolved. The last time the company shutdown operations the management blamed it on lack of gas supply to the plant |
SSpeter:Yes. You are right. This is what Awolowo Group has been fighting for. It is one of their cardinal points up till Pa Abraham Adesanya leadership time. Where is the money the government have been making from Lagos from Colonial Masters era (pre amalgamation, after amalgamation) and after Independence till date goes? If Lagos were to be an Independent country, it will be the fifth economy in Africa. Do you think all the crowds that come to Lagos daily is not millions of dollars? |
seunowa:All of you are not informed. The oil derivation was 3% and it doesn't cover offshore. It has never been 20%. If June 12 problem had not occurred and tension created by Pro Democracy people from South West led by Pa Adesanya, ABACHA wouldn't have called for Constitutional Conference and nothing would have made the North settled for 13%. If OBASANJO was not from South West he wouldn't have implemented 13% derivation. |
slimfit1:That time 1999 / 2000, he was not Kaduna Governor. He was DG of BPE. Moreover, there is always suspicion about moves in South West. Awolowo Group from time immemorial have Four Cardinal points which also resurrected heavily during NADECO struggle under Pa Abraham Adesanya leadership which is true Federalism which includes fiscal federalism and Resource Control. Any move creates suspicion. All the noise about Tax Reform Bill also have the fears of True Federalism. |
slimfit1:95% of people are not aware of Akwa IBOM power Plant. Architect Attah must have built it in his second term in office. Lagos State has suffered a lot. Tinubu started Independent Power Project in Nigeria immediately he assumed Power as the Governor of Lagos. Federal Government sabotaged it. Nasir El Rufai was at the BPE then, he brought out various analysis and reasons why Lagos cannot generate power for Lagos people. Even while Lagos was being used as capital before 1991 relocation to Abuja, since Shagari era, there is no any major developmental plan apart from the completion of 3rd Mainland Bridge. |
franchasofficia:Firstly, 30% VAT derivation is extremely low, 50% is better, otherwise, let the old TAX Law continually be as it is. Ndume is from Borno State and I believe they have oil in the Chad Basin which the Federal Government supported by Joint Venture Partners have spent over $15 billoin cumulatively to prospect for oil with nothing to show for it and we thank God Technological advancement have made oil discovery possible. Also, 30% or 50% oil derivation is the best for oil producing communities. I disagreed with Ndume's position of 30% oil derivation, I believe it should be 50% derivation. Most of the youths on Social Media and those frustrated people did not know the foundation of the struggle for Federalism or Regional Government which they are given different names today, some people called it restructuring. Pa Tanko Yakassai and his contemporaries know the battle lines drawn by Awolowo groups up till the period of late Pa Abraham Adesanya /Bola Ige and their group. Everybody knows one of the cardinal points of Awolowo Groups is True Federalism which included Fiscal Federalism and Resource Control . When the NADECO battle was hot and Abacha needed to stabilize his anti NADECO government, in 1994 there was Constitutional Conference. During Military, Oil Derivation was 3% it does not cover Offshore. During the 1994 Constitutional Conference, the oil producing communities requested for 50% derivation. Ojukwu was at the Conference. Ojukwu said with all due respect, the request for true Federalism as requested and demanded by Abraham Adesanya group which was not even at the conference is not possible. The South West Group at the Conference was selected by Abacha and they were pro Abacha, though I don't know the stand of Oba Dapo Tejuoso (Osile ) who was also chosen by Abacha and was at the conference. At the end, the Northern leaders agreed to 13% derivation, that was 1994/95 and submitted to Abacha. Nothing happened till Abacha died in 1998. It was not easy for the Northern elders to agree for the 13% derivation. The Oil communities settled for 25% from the initial 50% demanded. The external political pressure and tension from Abraham Adesanya Group contributed to the acceptabce of 13% by Northern elders just to end the conference. Till 1998 that Abacha died it was not implemented. With Obasanjo, a Southern President in power, the issue came back again, during this period , there was a lot of background meetings. Obasanjo agreed but brought out the issue of Onshore / Offshore Dichotomy which affected Akwa Ibom seriously. We have the Southern States Governors Forum and also Littoral States case against FG during Obasanjo era. In both the Southern States Governors Forum and Littoral States battles against Federal Government, Lagos and Ogun States were at the forefront of these battles. I just summarized the preambles here. Ndume cannot claim he knows about derivation more than President Tinubu or Southern States Governors despite the betrayals in the South States Governors Forum. |
Melagros:The case you referred to was initiated initially and indirectly by EFCC against Innoson in 2017 and 2018. EFCC officials were mishandled and brutalized by INNOSON staff at their factory. The FG did nothing. Till date, in the history of EFCC, no organization in Nigeria has ever mishandled EFCC or any Law Enforcement Agency that way. The contribution of INNOSON to the economy and the courage and individual efforts of Mr Chukwuma must also be appreciated. I think Buhari government considered so many things which includes gaining new friend at the expense justice. We are just waiting and watching. I have many things to say I will stop here. |
Omoawoke:Okun land has been glorified villages for a very long time. The last time I visited those areas was about 9 years ago. I have written about them before. Several years ago, while in the University, they (Kwarra & Kogi) don't attend Oodua Student Association. They said they are Northerners. They are very reserved and inactive as students. I never knew that it is because they have been caged for a long time. They separated themselves because of huge bursary and other benefits they enjoyed as northerners. I am suspecting this topic to be an indirectly sponsored topic posted by 7pm. For years, I have written about them when those two chiefs who claimed working with Ahmadu Bello was the best thing that happened to their lives were alive. |
Svoboda:Firstly, why are you bringing the issue of this man here? This man and his contemporary, Chief Daniyan sold Okun people into underdevelopment. I have a very bitter comment against this topic. There is another popular Retired General who is into oil (crude oil) business several years ago, they sold their people into underdevelopment and slavery. He was in PDP, a supporter of Ekwueme against OBASANJO in 1998. |
