European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Barcelona Vs Real Madrid: El Clasico (1 - 2) On 2nd April 2016 by profmathsland(m): 6:05pm On Apr 02, 2016
I am a madridista but I must say this.There are games that you think its predictable to say but becomes unpredictable and there are games that you think is unpredictable but becomes predictable.Most of us here are predicting from our head rather than think before saying it.Thinking I mean to say is to look at the form of the two teams.On paper Barcelona should take this one but it is a different ball game when two teams come into the field of play.Its true that Real Madrid do not have a convincing away record as it speaks in this season's LA liga but this is where distraction could set in.There are factors that should be considered here.The first is the international break that just finished and the second is the champions league fixtures that will come up this coming week.Where the match will be won for me is from the tactics of the two coaches.Whether you believe it or not Zidane was a terror to Barcelona in his playing days but whether he transforms that to the touchline remains to be seen. This is elclasico where the unthinkable happens.Whoever takes this game will get a definite booster ahead of the UCL week.It is a game where the unsung hero will emerge.I rest my case here.

Its danger for Nigeria and Egypt as they are the teams that have the better chances of qualifying.The match in Alexandria or Cairo will be the decider.

(1)why is it dat in integration of say, dy/dx we separate dy/dx as dy=dx in order to perform our integration wer as d operator (d/dx) is inseperable?

(2)What is d proper definition of d term mathematics?

(3)What is a number?

(4)In mathematics, what is a point(.)?
1.Integration is the reverse process of differentiation.The essence of doing that(I.e dy=dx) is to get the original function.
2.Mathematics is the study of numbers,quantity,space,structure and change.It is used throughout the world as an essential tool in many fields,including natural sciences,engineering,medicine and the social sciences.
3.A number is a mathematical object that can be used to count,measure and label.
4.A point in mathematics is an exact position or location on a surface.Note that it is not a thing but a place.The position of a point is indicated by placing a dot with a pencil.A point has no dimensions.

please guy i made a typo error on that number 2. it is actually 8^x=0.25 and not 8^x=0.23 thanks.
Alright 8^x=0.25
8^x=25/100
8^x=1/4
(2^3)^x=2^-2
3x=-2
x=-2/3

OK guyz,
I'm having problems solving this maths on Indices & Log. I would really appreciate it if a good mathematician here can help me with the breakdown/detail solution.
Evaluate this
Q1. (-8 )^-2/3
Solve for x

Q2. 8^x =0.23
For question 1,the answer is 1/4.For question 2,it is log(23/100)base 8.
Soln is as follows:1.(-cool^2/3=1/(-cool^2/3=1/(cube root of -cool^2=1/(-2)^2=1/4
2.8^x=0.23. 8^x=23/100. log(23/100)base8=8.
x=log23-log100(all base cool

(1)what is the real application of mathematics in our live?

(2) prove that:
a. Sin^3 x = 1/4(3sinx - sin3x)
b. Find 2nd derivative of:
y = cos^3 x
Mathematics is full of beautiful patterns that can be used in our everyday lives.Its concepts covers all works of life depending on what you are talking about.So if there is no mathematics there is no science and commercial aspects of life.It makes you to think critically and create something out of nothing.
2.To prove that sin^3 x=1/4(3sinx-sin3x),apply the differentiation from the first principle.
3.y=cos^3 x apply the algebraic rule of the derivative twice or you can still use the derivative from the first principle.

SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Mali: FIFA U-17 World Cup Final (2 - 0) On 8th November, 2015 by profmathsland(m): 1:53pm On Nov 08, 2015
For the records,Brazil remains the only team to have successfully defended the crown(1999).Nigeria failed twice to defend it whenever she gets to the final showpiece(1987 and 2009).Will it be third time lucky for the Golden Eaglets?For me it will be.Afterall Nigeria has defeated two continental champions.A win over the third continental champion will be third time lucky.So go for it Naija.Another fact is that Muhammadu Buhari was the head of state 30 years ago when Nigeria won the 1st edition.He has come as the president again.There is a recycling that is taking place now.
