With a heavy sigh of relief and a teary eyes she muttered...

"Thank You Sir.... It Shall Be.. Well With You"

She Had a blood pressure high enough to cause a cerebral stroke.

So she could barely talk..

But she has heard enough to make her want to stick with us. What did she hear?

She came in with her family, A man who I suppose is her husband and a Lady who must be her daughter..

While she stood before the old man who was writing, he paused, looked at her and before she could say a word he said..

Madam, you'll be fine..

this made her mutter those words almost reaching to the floor

"Thank You Sir, It Shall be Well with you"

Doubt is the bedrock of every Objection you can think of..

yeah go on, think..

it's cause they are not sure..

Save them some time, cut through all the objections and Land yourself a sale by assuring them it will work...

I must say, this method works when they have sought after you..

when your content or sales copy or webinar has told them you've got a solution..

All flimsy Objections come down to one question..

Will this work for me as you said??
Can you deliver like you promised?

Thats just it..

Till we meet one day and talk about how this meeting changed the game for you. I will be in my corner rooting for you.

Business / Nobody Will Teach You This About Selling Effectively by PromiseObasi(m): 12:19pm On Aug 08, 2022
I was working at home, one hot afternoon, sitting at my kitchen counter.

With a large iced tea in hand, I was on the phone with an important client.

My doorbell rang, but I ignored it.

It then rang again.
And again.
I continued ignoring it.
Then I heard a pounding on my front door.
“Damn,” I said to myself, but I continued my conversation.

Suddenly there was someone banging on the sliding glass door behind me.

At this stage it was a contest of wills.
And I refused to even turn around and look.
After a few moments, the banging on the front door started up again.
Frustrated as hell, I finally excused myself from my call and went to the door to get rid of whoever that was!

When I opened the door, I was confronted by a passing motorist…who told me that the shrubs along my backyard wall was completely in flames!

In that instant, this guy was elevated in status from an ANNOYING PEST to a WELCOME GUEST!

Those were the exact words of Dan Kennedy..

Can you see what happened in a few seconds?

In a world today where there is no time and the attention span of consumers are at an all time low, you have a few seconds to act..

I can be scrolling on Facebook and then I see a sponsored Advert..

It takes your visible CopyWriting prowess to make me click on 'See more' or even the 'like' button.

I can imagine what the motorist said.

probably:

"Sir, the shrubs behind your house is on fire right now, your property might be completely consumed if we don't act now".

If Na you you go still stand..

you go remember say you dey important phone call??

You can make anyone feel anyway based on how you communicate your ideas.

You can turn yourself from an annoying guy who is just running Ads to try and lure people into giving him money to a guy that is saying something so important and interesting that it creates urgency backed up with a desire to have something and a need to act now..

It's all in the emotions...
You play with it..

but don't abuse it.

Till we meet one day and talk about how this meeting changed the game for you, I will be in my corner rooting for you.

Something Hooge' Coming Today!

PromiseObasi:
If I should ask 1000 Nigerian Business Owners today, "What are your current challenges with your business?

about 60% will say, I don't make enough sales..

Nigerians think sales is their problem??

well it's not..

Find out what it is.

First I want you to bear this in mind.

Sales Is the end product of a successful marketing.

Sales is the "thank you" you receive for a job well done. So if you are not getting enough sales, you're not doing enough good job.

What is the Job??

The Job is Marketing!

that is the job you're failing at..

Marketing Entails a lot but I'll try to show you a few things in this thread.

1st, Marketing begins before you decide on what to sell..
It begins before you decide on what to produce..

I was watching this programme on LIONS DEN when I saw this guy that came to pitch a toilet finding app to the investors..

Yes you heard me right!

A Nigerian Entrepreneur had taken time to create an app that would help people in Lagos to locate the nearest public toilet so they will stop messing up the environment..

It was a smart Idea but guess what?

Non of the Investors invested a Kobo..

They lent him advice though, I hope he takes them seriously!

Before he started building the app, he probably have thought to himself,

"This will make the lives of Nigerians Easier, at least the environment will be safer and Lagos will at last be the ideal state Nigerian Movies paint it to look like"

Good man I must say, but the market does not care about your good intentions..

You have to listen to what the people are already crying out for..

One of the investors asked him a question like,

"How do you ensure the toilets are kept neat for people to enjoy using them"?

Man was mute..

They told him Lagos wasn't ready for that app yet which is 100% correct..

If he had done a simple market research, he would have realised that people will only start paying attention to looking out for public toilets when the government has made it mandatory by enforcing agencies around for this purpose and also making sure the public toilets are very safe and healthy for use..

Which is currently unattainable.

The best thing you can do for yourself is market research!

it saves you the frustration of thinking you have created something useless, It makes you feel you are not doing enough.

Sad..

In all things..
Research your market, know what people around you want most..

don't go and start selling clothes because your friends are making money doing it..
no be their customers go buy from you..

A word is enough for the wise.

Celebrities / Bbnaija OZO Had A Chance by PromiseObasi(m): 12:03pm On Jul 28, 2022
I was scrolling through Facebook yesterday when I saw this blog post about #BBNaija Sheggz.

It read:

Sheggz - "I’m not going to be like a certain ex-HM(Ozo), chasing a woman up and down"

I paused for a while and I let that sink..

If he will keep to his words, time will tell.

But right now, I want to tell you something.

When you learn how to attract an audience to yourself, without going after them you will make the sale with lesser stress.

Ozo, a smart, handsome, well-built young man would have easily won any girl he desired..

he would have attracted anyone of them if he played well..

but yeah people say "Chase her even when you get her, so that she'll be yours forever"

but we saw how it ended for him during his stay in the house..

the truth is that, no one wants to be chased around or disturbed with unnecessary broadcasts and impromptu calls.

Your content can bring them to you and keep them with you for much longer..

No matter what you sell, learn how to attract before you learn how to pursue.

"My son have not eaten properly for 4 days now, anything you give him to eat, he vomits. Where is the doctor?"

A parent and their child had just entered our Pharmacy, the little boy looked so so sick.

His body was covered with Measles and his iris gone up.

I was still engaging the mom when the father bursted out to his wife.

"Why painting it, look, my son is not feeling well, he has not eaten properly for 4 days now, he vomits even water, where is doc?

I want him to give something to my son that would make him well, what ever it will cost, I'll pay.. I just want my son well again.."

As he repeated the last sentence I could see a lump had started to develop in his throat, man was cracking up.. cry

I felt so compassionate, I wished I was the doc. I wish I could help him right now, but yeah.. Where is Doc?

He was out. he had left about 15 mins before the couple came in with their son.

Before I could explain to the man that he should be a little bit patient for the doc, he lifted his son shoulder high and left with him. Most probably to another "helper"

Doc has missed a chance to make money and save a life too. undecided

His wife was patient, didn't seem as cracked up as her husband, she was more comported, she let the nurse suggest some drugs and even bought some toys for the boy.

she said her husband has been crying since yesterday.

From the marketing point of view, I kept asking, Where was Doc?

This is a type of client every one prays for,

-One who has a desperate pain,
-One who recognises that he has a desperate pain,
-One who is looking for a solution,
-One who recognises you have the solution,
-One who is ready to pay any amount for the solution you will offer..

Have you by chance missed any client like this because you were offline?

You should have systems in place where you can attend to these people even when you are not around.

only then will you have a passive income
only then can you say you are financially free.

@Alex_Hormozi realised this and came up with a DWY service for his gyms..

You can do this too..

Coca Cola; pay money for potential Type II Diabetes and bone wastage.

Cigarettes; pay money for potential lung cancer.

Alcohol; pay money for potential kidney diseases and liver cirrhosis.

Most things for this life na risk. There is also water intoxication from consuming large amounts of the liquid.

I was at the Pharmacy today when this woman came in..

Her son was looking so ill...

He looked like he would collapse in no time cry

He was still wearing his school uniform, must have been rushed from school to this place

After running some tests to determine his blood to plasma percentage, sugar level, weight, drug prescriptions and aLL of that..

The total amount for everything was ₦7,000

The woman was just there staring at the Pharm cheesy

The amount was outrageous to her so she decided to give her husband a call...

During this call which was transferred to the Pharmacist, the Pharm explained everything to the man..

Told him how everything came to that amount..

Explained the drugs, and how they were fit for his son

The man was still not pleased..

Then the Pharmacist asked him.

What is more important to you, the price? Or do you want him to be well again?

The man was quite for a while...

Then he said, "send me the account number.."

Here is what I learnt..

I hope to pass it on here..

You might be selling things and telling your clients it will do this and do that, and you are still yet to hit their pain point.

You might be selling Perfumes and you go on ranting (I said ranting cause that how it would sound for the client) on how it was made in Italy, or how it was made with linseed oil or how it has been used by Rema, etc..

the person's problem might just be a perfume that will last longer, so you keep on going on and on without actually hitting the pain point of your client. (Ranting)

As a good entrepreneur, you should learn how to ask questions that can make your client say exactly what they are looking/hoping for from your product.

the work is not to convince them on something otherwise, rather, it is to
stress to them that your product has the ability to fulfill their earnest desires.

Only then will you have smooth sales..

In my last letter to you, I talked about building Authority in your niche..

It sets you apart and makes you the one buyers run to whenever they are in need of your product or service.

The example I gave was about an old Pharmacist. He naturally became an authority in that field not because of just his degree, but because of his years of experience.

I went to his Pharmacy to be treated as a child, I looked up to him so much. It's really an honour working with and for him today as an intern.

Now you are an online business person.

you are at a serious advantage, nobody needs to see you in person to assume how experienced you are or how knowledgeable you are.

You only have to make people believe you are experienced.

Yes.

in the online world, it's what we see we believe,

this is why you have many rich-looking broke Instagram folks. grin

You could only assume they were rich because of what they made you believe by the lifestyle they showcase.

Good News!

You can bring that to your online business too.

You can show people you are so knowledgeable about a particular product that they come to you for assistance.

Even when they don't end up purchasing from you, you will be the first person they run to when it's buying time.

Now Imagine you are a phone vendor and everybody on your contact list comes to ask you about phones before they purchase..

Even if you are bad at closing sales, you will make good amounts of money!

So how do you do this

You do this by posting things that can set you apart.

Let's say you sell phones, you can keep track of the latest inventions, apps, phone accessories, phone components example (Camera quality, ROM, RAM, Droid version, Apple update, etc.)

that's just an example for a phone vendor.

You can apply this same principle in every type of online business. (Tutoring, Coaching, Clothes and Cloth Accessories, Beauty Products, Foot wears, Etc)

So how do you get the information you give?

Simple, Follow the top people in your niche or the products you sell..

be constant on their websites, read books, watch You Tube Videos.

Anything you can consume online to make you sound more informed than the buyer..

Yes.

That is how you can build authority.

I can explain this further to you if you want.

Authority Building is why you will rather go to a surgeon who has had 1000 successful surgeries than one who has just two.

It is why you will rather let an old doctor treat you than a fresh graduate.

But there is a way you can build authority online without having to wait all these years.

Yeah, you can use the power of perception..

I will talk more on this later today.

I recently started Interning at this Pharmacy.

Another way to keep busy.

See Friend, you already have the solution to your business problems, you just don't pay close attention.

I was reading a book with my phone when this pot-bellied dark-skinned stout looking man entered the place..

he was suffering from Malaria, he needed an Anti malaria

We have two categories of Anti-Malaria drugs, the first was less expensive (cheap) the second was more expensive (costly)

I presented the two to him, guess which one he went for?

You were right ..
he went for the less expensive one..

Lumapil, which sold for ₦600

He said "I don't have the money for this other one, Na the same thing nah".

mind you.. the more expensive ones were sold for 2X the amount (₦1,200).

As he went on ordering other things he would be taking the drug with eg, Paracetamol, Vit. C etc.

The Pharmacist Stepped In.

The following conversation ensued between them.

Pharm: My friend, have you become sick?

Man: Na malaria oo, You know say I no dey sick before.

Pharm: Na Lumapil you collect?

Man: Yes, this other one Na the same thing nah, (As he chuckles)

Pharm: Na the same thing this one come cost pass?

Man: Abi?. Shey Na this one get one tablet?

Then he dipped his hand into his pocket and paid for the more expensive Anti-Malaria drug.

I was like..

No be this man talk say e no get money just now?

Moral Of The Story?

Most Times when they come inquiring, they have the money, they are not going to part with their hard earned money till you give them a reason why.

Tell them why this product is better than the one they are used to and hence more costly.

If you have the ability to make people see things this way, You can never go broke again.. No matter what you sell.

In the case above, see why this worked.

He knows the Pharmacist is an Authority, and knows better than himself.

He already has a nudge to go for the more expensive one, he just needed someone to persuade him.

The pharmacist didn't have to tell him the chemical components of both or the effectiveness of both.

That statement he made already told him the other drug was superior and would work better.

Another Moral lesson..

Be an authority, whatever you do will feel like a recommendation, and not you trying to sell.

If you want me to talk about how you can position as an authority in my post tomorrow, I'll appreciate if you Kindly leave a Like, It would tell me how many people are interested in it.

Coca-Cola, one of the biggest brands on earth have been here for longer than you know..

From a backyard recipe by John Pemberton containing Cocaine and Kola as far as 130 years ago,

you can see from the history that this company thrives on addiction.

Yes.

Coca-Cola is consumed in Mexico than in any part of the world.

In southern Mexico, Los Altos, Coca-Cola is literally worshipped.

It all started far back in 1960 when missionaries and evangelists started penetrating the region and preached against their local gin called 'pox'.

Coca-Cola was seen as a better supplement and as such started thriving almost immediately.

This is a region known for its bad water, locals only depending on the rains for refreshment and hence turned to Coca-Cola as a source of hydration.

Not only did they establish a bottling company close to this village, they sell at a very cheap rate to keep this people addicted.

Coca-Cola in this region is sold as cheap as bottled water

Type 2 Diabetes has seen an upsurge in this place, and only 1 out of 10 patients will agree to stop taking the sugary drink.

They don't see it as a cause for their sickness cry

Coca-Cola has been reported by activists to be exploiting the springs in these regions.

There is a well that extracts fresh water from a volcano basin,

the bottling plant has permits to extract more than 300,000 gallons of water a day as part of a decades-old deal with the government. Omo.

Despite this, There is a very valuable business lesson to take from it. grin

Despite the success of the company from years ago, they are still doing everything, even dubious things to remain on the faces of everyone.

You see them everyday, On TV, empty cans on the road, Bill Boards, Local Restaurants, etc.

Infact, Coca-Cola puts 11 million dollars each day into advertising. shocked

A company as successful as that still make sure they put themselves out there every single day but Busola that sells Perfumes think she is been too salesy by posting her products on her status everyday. Sigh.

Always get yourself out there, The best known will to the people, be the best product.

That is the moral lesson for today. cool

Read Up my last Posts, There are business lessons you can learn from them too

PromiseObasi:
As I stood by the side of the road guessing which suya man to buy from It struck me what this man have been doing. shocked

I love sales and marketing so much that I look around me and I already am seeing some marketing going on.

There were three different suya stands on the road side.

Although a bit far from each other, but that was not enough reason for this one man to be surrounded by people more than his friends.

Was his suya more tasty? Nah!

If his suya was more tasty, then his friends wouldn't even have company.

But he was doing something different from them.

And yes it was working, I could see he was making more sales than the both of the others combined. cool

His secret was simple.. grin

HE WAS GIVING THEM FREE A PIECE OF MEAT TO TASTE!

Yes. that is what he has been doing.

Everyone who stops by gets a taste and so doesn't bother checking out his competitors.

and as more people come by, they will come to him. why? The mentality that if people are surrounding this, then it must be working (Herd Mentality).

I wish I could speak Hausa Fluently, I would congratulate him on crafting such an offer, One which would keep fetching him money and more money if his competitors don't learn.

As I left his Suya stand I could now see other places where things like this have been applied.

The car Vendors allowing you have a free spin

The Clothe Vendors allowing you wear and look at the mirror

The Perfume Vendors Spraying a bit on your palm

The Jewelry Vendors allowing you put em blings on.

It makes more sense now. wink

If you have a business, craft a way to make people have a taste of what you are about to sell to them, okay?

That's the moral lesson for today.

Yeah That's True, Although not for all of them

But I hope you get the message I was trying to pass.

They all give out a little piece as tasting it is their regular practice.
Business / The Ancient Business Secret I Learnt From A Suya Man by PromiseObasi(m): 9:03pm On Jul 07, 2022

I help young online entrepreneurs like myself learn what they should and what they should not if they want to make more sales online.

Career / Do You Make This Mistake On Your Whatsapp Status? by PromiseObasi(m): 2:19pm On Jul 06, 2022
If you post your products on WhatsApp Everyday and do not make enough sales, this might be the reason..

Ella is a student of mine who was in my first class, if she wasn't paying attention when I taught this, I don't really know.

But Scrolling through my WhatsApp yesterday, I discovered she is making the exact mistakes Ihad talked against in class.

See Friend, Humans have a very short time span, life has become more visual than it was 10 years ago.

People are now bombarded from time to time with adverts here and there.

On an average I see at least 30 adverts online each day from Facebook and Twitter alone

And then when I come to Whatsapp to connect with friends and family members, I see them again. undecided

LISTEN:

If You fill up your status each day with just your products or services, no body will be interested in checking out your status, they already know what to expect.

And if no one checks it out, You can't make sales.

So why not learn how to create content around your product that is both entertaining and marketing at the same time?

My work here is to help entrepreneurs see the mistakes they make and show them a way out.

Business / NO One Ever Asked Me This About My Business by PromiseObasi(m): 9:12pm On Jul 03, 2022
In my last posts I have talked about

"What to do when someone says I'll get back to you",

"3 Reasons You don't Make Enough Sales", and a lot of other topics read by Hundreds of people.

Well today is a bit different.

Since this is one big family, I'll share this story, it's a bit personal though but yeah, have it.

Before my first business class, I asked a student of mine "How has business been for you all these while"?

Then She said.

Pls Sir, Can I use a Voice Note, No one has ever asked me this question before now cry

It felt so sad tbh.

She's been in business for almost one year and not a single person asked her how it had been.

She went on to tell me how bad her business had been and how she had given up already..

She said "My Contents are good, my price is good too what could be the problem?, why can't I make sales?"

It was At that point I swore to make sure I see to it that she progresses, I promised myself to hold her by the hand till she bounces back.

I asked her again yesterday, "How has Business been"? I was glad from her answers.. She's Back! And far better than when I met her

So I want to ask you today dear friend.

How has business been?

Tell me in the replies.

Well that was my first business Class, I've had the second and planning the third already.

There are many people like her out there.. it's time to save them. grin

When You are done, tell me what you think.

Tell me if you think this beautiful young lady will survive

2 months after she finished her youth service, life started dawning on her.

The money she was able to save from her 33k alawee was fast depleting, she was becoming sleepless.

Juanna is a 24 years old lady who was able to start up a hair and perfume business immediately after her NYSC, she saved some money during her service and was able to find a trust worthy vendor.

She still lives with her middle-class parents but she thinks she's becoming a burden, she wants to be an independent young lady.

2months after she kicked off her business it started dawning on her that she might not end up as successful as she wished

Her greatest fear of turning out to be a broke woman was fast becoming a reality.

She posted her products daily on her WhatsApp status.

Time went on and the sales kept coming in slowly, she decided to reduce the cost of her products, she sold at whole sale prices, yet nothing was changing.

she was slowly going out of business cry

Next, She decided to run adverts, she ran Ads on WhatsApp TV's and on Facebook too..

She merely could make enough profits from those, she had wasted money yet again. undecided

soon she started becoming depressed, she hated everyone on her contact list, she felt they were not supportive enough.

On her free times she scrolls through TikTok and wished she could dance, she wanted to be as happy as the people she saw there seemed.

"If I have money, I will afford a more beautiful room where I can make my videos" she thought aloud.

She still believes she would one day be a successful business woman. (How that would happen, I don't know )

In a depleting economy and poverty at an all-time high, the odds are surely against her.

Do you think Juanna will survive? Let me know in the comments.

Well as for me, if Juanna continues this way, she'll not survive.

Success doesn't look at your beautiful face or your pure heart.

It looks at how hard you can work, how well you use the knowledge you find.

Where can Juanna find knowledge?

This is where I come into the picture.

I can help Juanna and every other young person like her scale up their business online.

I can help you too.

Yes it is.. cheesy

They have a target audience and they don't fail to deliver

Telemundo and Zeeworld are some ladies' number one distraction till BBN starts
Business / A Valuable Business Lesson I Learnt From Zee World Yesterday by PromiseObasi(m): 9:27am On Jun 30, 2022
I was in the sitting room the other day when this "Twist Of Fate" teaser came up.

My Mom hissed..

What's the matter ma?

"Promise, will you believe they've been showing this series for about 4 years now before we even packed into our new home".

I've always thought that Zee World was Crap.

Any time I sat down to watch, I felt like my IQ was reducing, I felt I was loosing some brain cells, Lol.

I decided to stay a little longer to see if they had improved in their acting and see if they have made any noticeable change on their marketing.

The next series shown was just as expected,

First thing I observed was that the grand mom and grand daughter were the same person (tears), Just a little costume and facial transformation here and there.

In a nutshell, they haven't changed. Loads of bad actors and very annoying scenes.

But there is something they do so well..

Something I admire about their ability to capture attention and retain it.

The suspension at the end of every episode and then the soundtrack. Saluer.

The last episode is always ended in suspense.

You will want to know what happens next.

THAT IS THEIR BIGGEST MARKETING GAME.

How can you use this in your business as a Vendor or entrepreneur? I can't just tell you a story without a moral lesson (smirks)

Before you launch a product or a service, create suspense around it.

Make people believe that 'something hooge' is coming!

Tell them how it is the best and better than anything else they have ever seen.

It works all the time.

Don't lie to them if you won't deliver as promised. It will bounce back at you and will be terrible.

Till we meet again and talk about how far we have come, I will be rooting for you from this end..
