Education › Re: We Failed, Yet Again - A Write Up By A Concerned OAU Student by prophetfire: 8:05am On Jan 06, 2016
Microflux:
We Failed, Yet Again.
Is our resumption a good news or the opposite? I had patiently waited for this day, it seems this day will never come but alas! It's here. I had waited for a day, that the university Senate will announce our resumption and we will retreat from the war field and accept our fate. It's pitiable that my early presumptions became a reality today. That's why am taking pains to write to pour out my grievances in a mannered way.
Before I proceed, I will like to ring eulogy to the ears of the university vice chancellor in person of Prof. Bamitale Omole. Sir, I respect your mental reasoning you really showed us that "To omode ba ni aso to agba, ko le ni akisa to agba." You checkmated all the ways of our so-called SU that they called intellectual. You won the battle even before its start. You reasoned like us and like a common man and you won. I will like to say we need intellect like you in these country who can use their mental orientation to changed this land. Also, I Will like to believe you are a good chess player, and I Will like to test your skills because am also a fan of chess board game. God bless you memory.
However, I will say we failed again, I had known this from the start of the ... When the nonsensical slang "WAR" filled the airwaves of OAU. The war started when we are never ready for anything. All we are clamoring is good welfare and forget that our SU is filled with people of crippled minds who many of us, students are better of than at the helms of affairs, people who can not reason amidst themselves and generate innovative ideas that can change the school for good other than to sit down for hours composing grammers which are destructive in nature. The SU can not preview and review events but can spend money on useless adventures.
Instead of called a confab amidst outselves to deliberate on issues besetting us we decided to dazzle into a fight with the management that as sufficient weapons to fight the war which now cost us 3 weeks. This is unethical!
Why we Failed.....

* The SU as a whole are not united, 90% of them are there for fame, power and money. Wherby, the zeal to serve cannot sustain democracy but proper understanding of the precept can grow a sustainable democracy.
* We go to war without preparing. Levus' writer anchor Deji Akin was just suggesting flyers at the late hour.
* The students' union budget has no space for money to fund struggles this is unexpected from an educated leader.
* Our pastors and imams , do not pray for the SU and management, they only pray on G.P and avoiding hell not knowing bad welfare can take you to hell and make your GP epileptic.
I submit this but, I think the proscribtion of the SU is a good idea. Is better not to have a gate than to have a blind man as your gateman.
If the management fail to provide good welfare for us, the SU can spur them up by their actions. If they buy cwcs and call the management to fix it, they will be challenged to work and this can be easily financed not putting almost two million Naira into call buget. I drop my pen, saying we had failed again, looking through God on the next SU president.
Happy resumption
Daarasimi
A part one student of OAU

Politics › Re: Why The Iranian Ultimatum For El Zackzacky's Release Must Be Taken Seriously by prophetfire: 7:35pm On Jan 05, 2016
TheDevilIsALai:
The Iranians do not blow hot empty rhetoric.

They are not in the business of negotiated dialogue.

This is evident with their demand for the release of the now executed Saudi Shiite cleric by the Saudi govt which they retaliated immediately with the summary execution of Quatari royals who where abducted by an obscure Iraqi shiite militia backed by Tehran.

Now that the Iranians have openly tabled their demands for the unconditional and immediate release of El Zakzacky, I believe they are doing this from a point of leverage and knowing how the Iranians roll they would have had a strong response already in place targeting specifically prominent figures or their relatives in the Nigerian Govt and the Sunni community.
one big screw has gone loose in your head.nonsence. If he has commited crimes, let his sorry ass be fried.

Fulani herders are quite daring and destructive but they can not carry out an attack of this magnitude in Anambra state

Why are some of these hungry bloggers always in a haste to concoct far-fetched stories capable of setting tribe against each other in the name of courting traffic??
This was the exact manner she lied to the world that IPOB killed her sister in Anambra...a story as true as Buhari being the most educated Nigerian.

FG has decided to play their game with them this time around. Usually these people are charged to court on 100 plus charges, they get a very good criminal minded SAN as a lawyer (there's a very popular one I don't want to mention), then they are granted bail and they start prolonging the case using nonsense adjournment and Ghana must go influenced injunctions here and there. Now! Instead of slamming them with such charges at once, FG is dishing them out "small-small" grin So, when they face one judge for some charges, he grants them bail, they are "released" and immediately they step out of prison, they are rearrested again to face fresh charges grin in so doing they can be kept in jail for long and the trial process will hasten up. This is totally in order. I can see Prof. Itse Shagay is advising Baba well grin
I quite agree with you. That's the strategy.

Hello everyone! I didn't want to bring this up but I can't just imagine how this question could make her so annoyed. Before I say the question, let me take you down the memory lane.
I started dating this girl for two months(I don't know if we're still dating, I'll tell you the reason why I say so), everything has been going on smoothly not until recently when we started asking each other questions. She has asked me so many questions, some of the questions are as follow:

My Babe: Have you dated before?

Me : Of course!

My Babe: Why did u break up?

Me: We didn't get along with each other, so we decided to call it quit.

My Babe: Oh I see....

She has asked me series of questions but I never asked her any.
One day precisely 3days ago, I decided to ask her this simple question that shouldn't take a minute to answer!
Have you been pregnant before? She paused and looked straight into my eyes and said What sort of question is that? What do l take her for? Am I saying she had done abortions before? She hissed, stood and left, since 2days now we've not called, sent text to each other.
Does the question sound absurd? why did she take it so personal? I have decided not to apologize because I don't think I have done wrong, that's why I said earlier that I don't know if we're still dating!
Hey boy! Man_up. You didn't do anything wrong. Your question is in order and deserves to be answered. If she's offended then she is not willing to be truthful. People like to live in lies. If its important to you then you deserve to know. Call her bluff.

Look ur cousin shud run away frm that girl.I see his point n I believe ur cousin is principled.I dumped a girl I wantd to marry over d same issue n today I thank God I was bold to do de right thing, cos today de girl is still livin in fantasy island.I wonder de mess she cld av made of my life.if after all her goin to church n workin she has nt learnt to grow up n be a responsible woman then she cnt change.to tell ur man dt its his responsibility to think of de home shows how pathetic she is in reasonin. Dt type of lady, if a man runs into problem, she ll just dump him n look 4 another man that can sustain her fantasy island way of life. IN CHOOSING A LIFE PARTNER SHINE YOUR EYES N BE REALISTIC.DNT LET EMOTIONS N SENTIMENTS BECLOUD YOUR SENSE OF REASONING. You kno why I did de right thing n dumped mine? Its cos my step brother made this type of mistake n de girl ruined his life.I learnt from his mistake. Dnt push your cousin into fire. Allow him to follow his mind n do de right thing if you love him.
