Christianity EtcRe: Is church an investment?? by Ptolomeus(m): 7:44pm On Aug 20, 2012
Joagbaje: We are not discussing tithes here. But the doctrine of giving and receiving . And for your information , tithing wasnt a Jewish affair but a principle based on the bible like others such as faith, prayer, worship offerings,, etc. They all pre existed the Jewish law and the Jewish nation. And there's never a place in the bible where God put an end to it or them. I don't like to enter debate on tithe . Let everyone be convinced in his own mind.
You have brought here the subject of tithing.
You know that tithes were paid offerings (grains, oils) that were burned in hulocausto honoring God.
Tithing, as shepherds crooks charge, is simply a robbery ...
In Malachi, God punishes with tithing, pastors Levites, because they had stolen from God ...
The Gentiles have never paid tithe.
Now, returning to the theme ...
Asking a Pastor not turn your church into a profit-making enterprise is difficult ... Why?
Because the pastor knows he is stealing ... all pastors who charge tithe and pressuring the faithful to pay, they know they are stealing ... Jesus never did that ...
Unfortunately, there are many idiots who believe in the lies of the shepherds, and let stolen.

PAGAN 9JA:
great write up Ptolemus and thank you. btw wow i heard Abimbola's wife, the high priestess of the temple of Shango, is healthy and alive at the age of 110! shocked shocked shocked shocked
Right.
Nothing I can say to his wife ... Abimbola did not seem such an old man ... in fact I think he was born in 1932, so it was about 80 years ...
I really want to meet him one day, and ask why he did that? Why he spat on the most sacred.
I wanted him to explain to me ...
He has done a lot of damage ....
Currently, it is difficult to speak seriously of worship IFA, it is difficult to have credibility, it is something that something that lost its essence ...
Thank you for your words of friendship.
You are a very intelligent person and worthy of the utmost respect!

CultureRe: Pagan9ja - I Want To Clarify Something For You by Ptolomeus(m): 2:01am On Aug 20, 2012
Fulaman198: I am not a "tribalist" or "someone who is only for my ethnic group." I am a "traditionalist" aka someone who wants indigenous cultures to remain the same and have no outside influence from Western cultures. I think that is what you are. When you use the word "tribalist" it is almost like saying you care only for yourself and for your people.

For example, many cultures in West Africa and Africa in general have become or are becoming Westernized (Igbos, Yoruba, SOME Hausa (mainly Nigeria)), Kikuyus in Kenya, Bamakan/Bambara in Mali/Senegal, Lingala peoples of Congo/Rwanda etc.) I am for Africans not having any sort of Western influence whatsoever. In fact, when I see Westerners from Europe or the Americas going to study the various kinds of Fulani people (Tukulor, Wodaabe and other Mbororos, Jelgobe, Gowabe, Liptaako, Fulakunda, etc. etc.) I get very angry because often these Westerners are studying us as if we are lab rats.

They may think they are doing a good thing, but in reality, they are not. They are exposing our culture(s) to the Western world. More and more each day you are seeing Westerners going to ancient lands of Africa (like Timbuktu for Festival in the desert) or Agadez/Chad border to witness Wodaabe Gerewol. This makes our cultures more Westernized.

I can go on all day about this, but what I want you to do is to start calling yourself a "traditionalist" someone who is for the preservation of Traditional culture worldwide and not a "tribalist." It has a bad tone to it.
Dear friend:
The thread is interesting, but the thread is being distorted to some unwise interventions.
I totally agree with you.
It seems that the "acculturation" that prevailed in colonial Africa was not enough ...
I just read a thread brother PAGAN , regarding the sale of traditional African relics ...
One can understand that for four centuries, the colonialists in Africa kept their chains .... what can not be understood, and can not be accepted, is that Africans themselves deliver their story.
Uan perlamas added to an excellent presentation:
In the early 90's, many "sharks" for purely economic tried to "invent" the office of Iyaonifá in the cult of IFA.
Wonde Professor Abimbola (representative to the diaspora) opposed terminantement, based on the foundations and traditions of worship, disqualifying the scoundrels who tried to profit by changing the traditions that had hundreds of years and thousands of reasons.
Then, Abimbola, for political reasons, to UNESCO, changed his mind ... and validated by Iyaonifa ...
Abimbola and his henchmen have kicked his assh for hundreds of years of culture, tradition and rationale ... the need albajo price ....
brother ...
Immorality and delivery of culture, not only among the people ... for people like you and me ...
Also available in the "high orbits of government and their own culture" ...
Well ...
Knowing the problem is a way to begin to fix it.

Well ...
You (as often) has hit the mark.
$ 300 seems to be the price of history, culture and traditions ...
The colonialists banned robbed and traditions, and identity ....
Possibly the most painful are those intangible things that they stole ...
But I'm totalmnte agree with you ... this is also part of history and African identity.
Brother ... it is true that the reality is that many Africans have lost their identity, and face west with admiration, thanks to the ignorance imposed on them.
But it is also true that there are (we are) few, who are aware of these felonies that occur even in the XXI century ...
I fully support your proposal. We have to denounce, to publish Ambio in national and international outrage such cultural.
We look at what happened with pain since the eighteenth century, but today, four centuries later, the exploiters and the exploited are the same!

There are many abuses.

because Basque and corse are not the same tribes as 2000 years ago. it isn now only a linguistic based group.

and finally, europe has lost all her tribes (except the Sami) after the advent of christianity by 800 A.D. and so today have lost their original cultures and religions. europeans still refer to their ancestral ethnic groups as tribes. Examples are the Saxons, visigoths, Franks,, Germanic tribe (Angles, Jutes, etc.), Norse, Celts, Gauls, Britons, Pictish tribes, etc. (all nowextinct but referred to in history books as tribes).

same case with countries such as North America (Sioux, Cormanche tribes, etc), South America (Aymara, Quechua, etc), India, China, SOuth East Asia, etc (Dayaks, Gonds, Bhils, Maoris, etc.)

ah i see about Beti-Pauhin. but they all share common ancestry it seems, along with Fangs , Bulas , etc.
Exactly the same happens in South America.
Except to the Mayans, the Incas and Aztecs, to all other American ethnic groups are called "tribe."
I do not know if the word "tribe" is derogatory or not ... but you observe that a great match between America and Africa ....
All indigenous traditions were considered barbaric, uncivilized, and beliefs considered "witchcraft", their languages have almost disappeared.
Coincidence?
Or modus operandi of the conquerors?

Is that the big problem in Africa? The problem is that even in the moment when two people agree to begin discussions minor issues?

It is at that point where you start from a wrong premise.

Witchcraft has its origins in Europe, not Africa.
