congrat bro go and excel diizzy968: Landing gist
i got my ppr on the 23rd of sept. i'm so glad I booked my flight (8 dec) that same day because i got the best deal on Ethiopian airline.
Flight time from Abuja airport to Addis Ababa was 1:30 pm. Due to delay we left at 20 mins to 2 pm or there about.
I took some food items. I wish i took more because i didn't pass through bag checking and weighing wahala. An insider intervene for me (someone i know).
I only paid for wrapping of my luggage
Not a bad experience for first timer on an aero plane
Food served were good through out the journey
Travel documents flight ticket covid 19 vaccination card Admission letter passport letter of introduction fee payment receipt No enrollment since my enrollment start on the 12th No arrive can filled***
At the Abuja Air port i only submitted passport, covid 19 card and flight ticket
My cream(500ml) was confiscated at Addis ababa. i was told that they don't allow any liquid substance above 100ml on the flight. so don't put those things in carry on bag.
Nothing much in Dublin since we didn't alight the plane. Just stopped for some maintenance and refuel though it took longer than usual due to shortage of man power because of the weather.
Eventually, i was live in canada on friday 9 dec at 9:20am local time. Massive airport, naija na joke among the three airports. I sharply connected to the wifi reached out to my elder brother and a dear friend who has been engine oil to these processes. Joined the long queue it was fast though because there are lot of self declaration machines. Scanned my passport and answered the questions that followed. Afterward i was directed to the study permit unit. Load of us were there for that, so they one requested for letter of introduction (that letter received after passport is stamped). Not so much time taken study permit and work permit for courses with coop were issued. I quickly saw an officer who signed on my passport with some details fro the two piece of documents after receiving mine.
omo we don set ooo, i waka go search for my loads. then head straight to meet my brother. we hug each other he don tey wey i don see this lovely guy.
Around dat area he quickly help me got my fido sim. as we reach outside the weather of canada give me a serious handshake.
I jam my friend outside hug the baba. We jumped into car. They where prepared before i landed. They carry me go do my SIN menh this saved me from some expenditure. Transport na wahala here as my bro no dey this province.
It has been a smooth journey. Thanks to Jehovah God
Those on their way and those coming soon safe flight.
Those waiting on IRCC please don't loose hope. Jehovah will always come through for you

Am thinking of waiting for other schools I applied for, if they will get back before the timeframe conestoga gave me, to know the best to choose interms of payment and tuition fees johnstan: Is there something you want to avoid that is making this trouble you? Your admission will be revoked if you fail to meet the conditions on your letter of acceptance. You can always re-apply for another or same intake tho, pay another application fee, wait to be accepted and then forward the new LOA to IRCC
IRCC will verify if your admission is genuine and deny your application if it is fake but not if your admission is withdrawn, this is the reason why someone can upload an updated LOA to IRCC when they defer their admission and still get their visa approved. |

thanks for this Teezkid: Hello there. You can pay the $1,500 CAD if you have a Nigerian DOM account to make the processing faster for you to secure a seat for the program; this can give you an edge in your application for your Canadian visa. You can also get a refund for the $1,500 CAD if you were refused your study visa, but the school will hold $200. If you pay the $1,500 and you get your acknowledgment from Conestoga, you can then apply for your Canadian study visa. Good luck |

OK thanks johnstan: Conestoga college initial dep of $1,500 is refundable less $200 admin fee, its on their site, however, this is if you voluntarily choose to withdraw 2 weeks before resumption or visa is denied.
Now except your other schools of choice don't have options for an initial deposit then hurriedly pay the deposit so you do not loose the admission. Form A takes like 60 days these days so the earlier you apply the better. |

it so sad to read this from a - z why will some people behave like this this is how they spoil opportunity to others that are yet to arrive, i think his attitude is always there and he will never change sice you said this how he have been doing since day one well, you know what to do, you have the Big Decision to make bless babajeje123: Advise needed please. Now I am begining to understand why most Nigerians here don't want to accomodate newcomers who are Nigerians. I accommodated a guy who is becoming difficult for me to handle just because I don't like wahala. We lived in the same house in Nigeria and during those period we were never friends. We only exchanged greetings sometimes as he was very rude and proud. So when he got to know that I left Naija with my family, he became a 'friend', called me one day and asked for what he needed to do to come to the UK. I explained all I did without any reservations and advised him on what he needed to do. He applied to a University and a week to his resumption, he had not gotten his CAS. He was worried as he had sent so many emails and made calls to the Uni without a single reply, so I went to the Uni to ask for the reason for the delay as there was also no update on his application portal. The lady I spoke to was not going to converse with me but after some pressure, she spoke and from our conversation, it didn't appear he was going to get the CAS. I remembered a friend who is an Agent of the Uni and spoke to him, sent his details and the following day he got his CAS. No penny was collected. I guided him on how to apply for his visa which he got. Prior to him getting his visa, he was asked from the Home Office to forward additional documents like payslip etc and he was afraid of what to do. I connected him to a friend who had the same experience and that one guided him on additional docs he could send and eventually he got his visa. He spoke to me about accomodation and I told him he could put up with my family and when he is settled, he can start looking for one. While he was coming we asked him to help us bring food stuff which we were going to ask someone to buy and give to him and he told me point blank that he like doesn't travel with luggages. I was taken aback. So i needed to beg him and explained to him that he would not carry any load till he get to Newcastle his final destination and I promised to come and pick him at the airport. He agreed however he didn't come with any of the foodstuff except for my wife's laptop that someone took to meet him at the airport in Nigeria. His reason was that the payment system of the airline he used was not working and so there was no way to pay for additional luggage. My wife begged him to at least picked some dry fish but he insisted that he had his luggages to carry. So we cargoed our foodstuff. Because of that, my wife and her family insisted that I must not go and pick him at the airport which I agreed initially but later went to pick him. When I looked at the hours of layover he had at Doha and Heathrow and considering the fact that he would arrive Newcastle at 10:30pm, I went to pick him without my wife's consent though I explained to her sister when I took the kid to her house. Wify was on a night shift luckily that day. On my way to the airport, I called to let him know I was on my way when he had not even left Heathrow but when I got there my phone dropped and the screen shattered when I went to use the toilet. I can't receive any calls or make any. As a village boy I am, I stood at the international wing of the airport instad of the domestic wing. He arrived, was calling but I couldn't pick. Eventually we met after hours and the first thing he did was to attack me. 'I have been calling and waiting in the cold since, all those we came together have gone and I am the only one left. If I knew where I was going, I would have left since', he raged. I was going to retort but smiled and explained everything to him. Helped him with his luggages to where I parked and paid £25 for parking.
My wife wasn't happy with his stay and she showed it. It was like a pay-back moment for all the guy's behaviours to her in Naija but I would not have any of that. I ensured that they guy sit with us, eat with us, go to church with us, gave him numbers to call for jobs etc. When I felt my wife was taking things to far as she reported me to my mum that I hosted a stranger in this UK economy where things are expensive and my mum also started mounting pressure, I reported her to her sister too. I told her sister that I was not going to ask the guy to leave until he gets a job and I won't join my wife in not relating well to the guy. This became an issue between us which we later settled. I convinced her to forget the past as this should even be a lesson to us that we should always treat people well as you don't know where you will meet them again or when you will need their help. The guy started working and everybody was happy. One day wife raised a point that the guy was suppossed to buy even if it's ordinary bottle of milk and I quickly trashed that conversation. One day I wanted to get the rug cleaner in his room and I saw cans of drinks, cartons of McDonalds under his bed with groceries. He had gone to work / or class that day. To be candid, I felt somehow and spoke to my wife about what I found. At that point, I began to remeber all the guy's attitudes and they started getting to me. I remembered a day we wanted to go out without the kids and I asked if the kids could stay at home with him, he said no that he was going to have online lecture. Since then we always take them to a friend's place or wify sister's if we feel they shouldn't follow us even if he is at home. I remebered how he never for once asked if I had fixed my phone's screen or not, I remebered how he never asked if we have received the foodstuff he was to bring but we needed to cargo. I remebered how we, 4 of us are sleeping in one room, wife and the kids just for him to have his privacy. I remebered how our bills, water, electricity and gas had increased since he came and to God who made me, I never bothered about any of these for once. I felt someone is using me and I concluded to tell him to look for accommodation but I won't change my attitude to him. So I asked him about his search for accomodation and he said he was thinking about raising his school fees balance and that would take a while since he can only work for 20hrs in a week. I told him that he should look for the ones that are cheaper and since holidays are here, he can work full time to raise his balance. Besides, we are 4 sleeping in a room and it is not convenient for us. His body language confirmed he was not ready to leave so I started helping him to look for a shared apartment. I got one via a church member and he went there for inspection though he didn't want to go initially. His reason was that he was having an online lecture at the time they asked him to come which he must received at home. I spoke to the person and they said he could come at any time since they would be at home throughout the day. When I told the guy, he said he can't still go because of some group discussion he would have after the lecture bla bla bla. At that point, I told him that he needed to go because we are 4 in the room and it is not convenient for us. He went only for him to come back and tell me that he doesn't like this house. He said the house is close to his Uni but he just doesn't like it and that I shouldn't worry, he would leave by this weekend. 'No wahala', I said and since then he has been giving me attitude. He came back from work on Thursday morning, I opened the door, greeted him and he didn't answer. All along, he stays in his room and when food is ready, I would be the one to go and call him and he comes out immediately. But since Wednesday, when I go to call him for food, he won't come out until after 20 - 25 minutes. So this afternoon before I went to pick one of the kids from school, I called him to come and eat but he didn't answer. When I returned, I still met the food untouched. I wanted to call him again but I decided to face my project that is frustrating my life and then he came out to eat. He started saying a lot of things about him getting accommoation that I was not listening to. But the last thing he said made me to decide to put this here. I heard him said, 'I will leave when I get a good accommodation'. I just said okay, he ate his food and left for his room.
Please I need advise to handle this maturedly. Since he came none of his people called to say 'thank you' not even his girlfriend that we know. But I don't care at all as all I want is for him to leave as I don't want to continue to sacrifice the comfort of my family to someone who is unappreciative. |

Dec 7th - Picked up the passport from VFS ( I can't even explain how beautiful it looks).
All Documents Submitted; 1) Application of study permit made outside Canada (imm1294e) 2) Letter of Acceptance 3) Scanned Copy of Passport Info Page 4) Proof of Funds (which includes Letter of Explanation of Funding Support, Letter of Financial Support and Affidavit from Sponsor, Scanned Copy of Sponsors ID, Sponsors 6-Months Bank Statement and Reference Letter from Bank, Sponsors insurance Certificates, Sponsors CAC certificate, Sponsors Contract Memos for her company, Sponsors property Documents (3 properties), Sponsors 6 months Payslips, Sponsors Appointment and Promotion Letters, Sponsors personal cars documents, My First Semester tuition payment Receipt) 5) My Digital Photo 6) Upfront E-Medical Information Sheet 7) Family Information (imm5645e)

I applied by myself with all the information I got from Nairaland and YouTube. All the sponsorship letters I wrote by myself, and just gave my mom to sign and scanned. I also paid my tuition with Form A even though it was a hassle, I disturbed FCMB with emails and calls for three months before it was finally disbursed. I lost my Dad a week before I applied, but I thought against including his death certificate so it doesn't affect the application. I don't know, but I feel the application was approved because it was backed with a lot of supporting documents to prove my sponsor is really established in Nigeria and can afford to fund my stay and schooling in Canada. I also wrote a very detailed SOP about why I was going to study for a post secondary diploma even though I had a Bsc which is higher and also in a totally different field, I explained the importance to my career growth and I also emphasized that after my studies I was going to come back to Naij and pursue a career and take care of my mom most importantly.
All these couldn't have been possible without God's intervention though, so I just suggest that we all involve God in all the processes as much as we can. This journey has really thought me to never underestimate the power of prayers. I hope this helps somebody and I wish speedy approvals to everyone hopeful for a decision.
See y'all in Canada soon!!!! |

congrat dear GloryJoyeux: Hello house,
I am typing this just to make my little contribution.
A reliable agent billed me 180k to apply for a visitor visa. This was beyond my budget, so I decided to do everything independently.
I applied for e-visa through 'saonline vfsevisa (dot )com' total cost was 87 USD
I got my hotel and flight reservation through 'visareservation (dot) com' total cost was 55 USD ( they deliver the itineraries to your mail within 24hrs). Their reservation are valid up to 2 weeks.
After getting the itineraries, I proceeded to register on the VFS e-visa platform. Note: you will need a scanned copy of all supporting documents, the size of which must not exceed 1MB
Some documents I submitted
Passport - 10 yrs validity Yellow card - Lifetime (make sure its verifiable through the barcode on the card) The hotel and flight itineraries I mentioned above Three statements of account (1st was salary account, closing balance about 50k Naira {inflow and outflow of 11m}. 2nd was secondary income account, closing balance of about 150k Naira {inflow and outflow of 28m}. 3rd was savings statement, closing balance 5m Naira plus) Daily itinerary of what I will do each day Self Introduction letter Employment-related documents ( I did not submit an introductory letter) Property documents (multiple land c of o's, also have a house which I provided the documents for) Family documents ( I am not married, but I submitted my sibling's and parents' ID cards) 3-month payslips Affidavits Birth certificate Pension statement ( 5m Naira plus balance)
I used a Chipper USD card to pay the 87 USD fees
I applied last week and my e-visa was approved in 5 days, with Multiple entries (they also added two days extra to my requested stay period)
Note also, if you missed any document during upload, or you uploaded a blurry document, VFS will send you a mail to re-upload the documents (12 hrs timeframe). When the visa is approved, VFS will send you a mail, with your e-visa.
I really hope I have helped someone with the little information I have provided. Wish you all success in your future applications. |
