This was my second attempt at Schengen visa, Belgium refused me in July this year.

4. Employment Offer Letter, Promotion Letter and Evidence of Salary Increase.
5. Letter of Introduction from my Employer.
6. Evidence of Leave Plan for 2024.
7. Six Months’ Salary Pay Slips.
8. Income Tax Clearance Certificate covering 3 years.
9. My Salary Account Statement with bal of 7m
10. Domiciliary Account Statement with bal of $10k
11. Fixed Deposit Investment Certificate for 10m
12. Letter of Reference from bank A
13. Letter of Reference and Pension Account Statement from my Pension Managers
14. Professional Certificate
15. Copies of Marriage Certificate and my Children’s Birth Certificates were rejected.
16. Property Documents and valuation report were rejected because I didn't bring the originals. Only Lands Payments Receipts were accepted.
17. Evidence of bookings covering planned activities and tours.
18. Detailed itinerary with dates and planned activities.
19. Flight and hotel reservations.

The Decision to Travel:

I first heard about Express Entry in 2015 but didn't pay close attention to it at the time. Many of my close friends eventually moved through this program. However by end of September 2020, when EndSars protest was beginning to gain momentum, we knew we had to leave the country.

- 1st October 2020: Applied for WES ECA for my MSc.
- 28th October 2020: Received ECA results.
- 31st October 2020: Took my first IELTS (LRWS/8,8.5,6.5,7). I applied for a remark on my Writing, and it was adjusted to 8,8.5,7,7, with an overall score of 7.5.
- January 2021: Wife (@Phabulous93) took her first IELTS (LRWS/9,8.5,8,7.5), scoring 8.5. wife’s ECA was by CES, and her LLB was evaluated as a Professional degree. This took about 6 months.
- My wife's CRS score was 484, and mine was 455, so she stood a better chance.
- October 2022: I wrote my second IELTS with an overall score of 8.0.
- December 2022: My wife took her second IELTS, scoring an overall 8.5.

HEARTBREAK

- We remained at a CRS score of 484 for almost 2 years, and on my wife’s birthday in March 2023, IRCC decided to draw 484. Unfortunately, she lost 5 points on her birthday and she wasn't selected.
- My wife was heartbroken, but as I consoled her, our son walked in and started singing Nathaniel Bassey's song, "You are God from beginning to the end, There's no place for argument, You are God all by yourself...".

TEF in 4 months!

- In January 2023, my wife started practicing with Doulingo, just in case we needed French
- After loosing 5 points and missing out on the ITA in March 2023, she made the courageous decision to learn French formally and dedicated herself to studying day and night. At a point, she had like 2 French tutors.
- Mind you, she was still working full time. We practiced speaking French together, and I even downloaded various French translators so I could practice speacking with her.
- I gingered her to write the TEF exam in June (3 months after she lost 5 points), but she was like, the average time to learn French and pass the TEF is between 9 – 12 months.
- And I was like, I know. Just see the TEF in June as a mock exam so you get familiar with how the exam is…
- So we registered for it and she wrote the French exam on 15th June 2023, and the results came out on 20th June 2023, less than 1 week later, and we received an extra 10 points.
- Sharperly, I updated our profile, and the score jumped from 479 to 489.
- One week later, we received an ITA (cutoff was 486).

Ah! Baba God o! Thank you.

eAPR
- In putting together our application, we ensured that it was thorough and included a letter of explanation for pretty much everything.
- Our Proof of Funds (POF) was 100% ready since October 2023. However, due to the Naira devaluation in June 2023 (all thanks to Tinubu and the CBN), we had to get a Gift deed to complete our POF.
- We also included 25% of my Pension as a buffer in case the Naira depreciated further.

Additional Document Requests:

- ADR 2 & ADR 3 (Schedule A IMM 5669): I'm not sure why they requested these, but I suppose it's because my wife worked with a Local Government during her NYSC, and the word "Government" might trigger additional scrutiny.
- My wife and I are both Directors and Shareholders of several small companies. We had to provide a separate letter of explanation, clarifying that these companies were part-time and did not interfere with our full-time jobs.

LANDING

- Booked Egyptair and landed Toronto 7am last week. Before 9:00am, the I heard those beautiful words, "Congratulations! And welcome to Canada!"
- We were heading to Calgary, and had a 9 hour layover in Toronto. So we used the time to sort out our SIN, Sim cards (Fido offered us a $35, 50GB plan) and our bank account (CIBC).

Finally guys, if you can, please learn French o! It's not easy but if you can, abeg write it. If we didn't write French, we will still be at 479, hoping and praying that the cut off points drop. But here we are, living in the beautiful city of Calgary as Permanent Residents.

Hello everyone, there is something I will like to advice you people here and other people that will come across this post.

If your reading this and your making plans to come mauritius, I strongly advise you to change or drop that plan.
I will give you reasons....

First of all, mauritius is no longer what it use to be before, the country is no longer friendlier especially to Nigerians.

Mauritius ppl hates Nigerians, infant by acknowledging to them that your from Nigerian, it puts you in a disadvantage position, if the person wants to help you if they find out your from Nigerian the person will change his or her mind.

Although I don't blame them bcus Nigerians has taking it upon themselves to always brand themselves as terrible ppl, causing nuisance everywhere, giving themselves bad name everywhere and every country dey go.

Bcus of this, any person that commits a crime in here even though the person may not be from Nigeria but the mauritius ppl will tag the person as Nigerian.
They see other ppl from other African countries as Nigerian.


In the last few yrs and 2022 was the last year mauritius was convient and relaxing for Nigerians.
But this 2023 , lots of Nigerians troop in here and lots of crimes were committed here bcus of that mauritius ppl doesn't want Nigerians here.

So if your coming in here either with study visa ,work visa or visit visa , your not safe bcus there is a chance that immigration here will return the person back home.
I'm not trying to discourage ppl who wants to come mauritius and spend there vacation and go back home.
If your coming to mauritius as a legit tourist to spend your vacation and return home ,make sure your highly established back home in your country as a Nigerian most especially.
Make sure you have a good business and investments as back up to proof to the immigration officer that your a legit tourist who will return back home, then I assure you that they will allow you into the country.

If your a legit tourist that is well established
in Nigeria and your coming to mauritius to spend vacation or business trip then you nothing to worry or fear bcus they will allow you in.
Although they will do investigation on your claims at the airport there to verify your claims.




Lot of Nigerians coming in with either visit visa or work visa are been return home.
It's a 50/50 chance, infact it's now 40/60 chance.

They don't want Nigerians here again.

The other day I waz conversing with a Mauritian and he ask me where I'm from and I told him Nigerian, he now said that Nigeria a country filled with criminals and I gave him a frown look and ended the conversation.
This is there perception towards Nigerians.


Why I'm posting this is bcus you will not come and waste your money coming here only to be returned back home.

If your aspiring to come here, I advice you to forget mauritius and look for another country and go.


Police is always hunting Nigerians here ,picking them up on the road randomly or at workplace and if your permit has expired your going back home and they will force you to use your money to book flight back home.

I know some one that entered mauritius with visit visa and the guy was lucky to survive the immigration here.
Why bcus he was smart and lucky...
He told me that 12 Nigerians at the airport there including the ones with work visa were returned back home with the available flight.
But him was lucky enough to pass through bcus of some reasons I won't share here.

But if you still insist that you want to come here then by all mean be my guest, then you will get to experience what I have said first hand.

Getting through immigration now here even with your legit permit , the chances are slimmer unless luck is on your side.

Please note : I read a post about fake agent , now their are many agent scammers claiming to be travel agent please be careful

Incase you need some of the visa application documents like flight reservation, hotel reservation, travel health insurance , cover letter writing and appointment date I can be of help as this is where most people fall in the hand of the fake agent

Please help to forward in other for people not to fall a victim of fake agent again cause it's not easy

I must thank everyone for always sharing information about schengen visa application. Please I need your answers. I submitted my application for Italian schengen visit visa at TLS Lagos on 14th November. On the day of submission, TLS officials rejected my property documents, marriage certificate, birth certificates of my children and some other documents because I didn't bring their originals. I have been hoping that the embassy will reach out to me to supply those documents since I mentioned in my cover letter that I attached them to my application. I didn't get any call, today I received an email from TLS for passport pick up.
Please does it mean my application was approved or declined? I expected an email from them stating their decision on the application but I didn't. I am just worried. Kindly assist with answers.

I am super happy, this group helped me to achieve success in my B1/B2 Via application.

MAKE THIS A THREAD ?

I applied for the visa in March 2021, and my interview was set for March of 2022. Few days to my interview date i got an email that my interview has been brought forward. This meant that i had to pick another date for interview.

The reason why my interview was brought forward was because of the Ukraine/Russian Conflict and they were only catering to medical, emergency or student Visa submissions. On opening the interview date portal, the next date was November 22nd and i picked it.

I had 2 whole years to prepare for this interview, and during this time i would speak with my friends and people generally to try and know their experience at the intervew centres,and also read peoples experiences from Nairaland as well. I was very much prepared and had the conviction that i will emerge successful.

I arrived in Abuja few days to my interview, printed all my documents, and here are the few important things i did :

- Updated my appointment confirmation form as i had previously renewed my passport so for my new passport number to reflect on my form
- Took US specified passport photographs and stapled to my DS-160 confirmation form
- The documents i printed out where specified to the storyline in my application. I am a buisness owner who is self sponsoring my trip and does not know anyone in the US and in that regards, this are the list of documents i printed.
- Introduction Letter as CEO of my company
- Company bank statement
- Flight/hotel reservation
- Appointment Confirmation
- Proof of Visa payment
- Confirmation of Application

PPR Alert!!!!

The truth is I never thought I would type those words this year. My journey has been rough but God's grace stood for me. Before anything I would like to thank 3 people who helped me psychologically and materially during this process. Zubizareta, Subzero, and another random NL user like me whom I don't even know their username but we discuss our applications on WhatsApp. I can't thank these people well enough. Zubizareta was always there for me and was so genuinely invested in my application. Subzero was almost like my elder brother and the third user guided me like he knew me from Adam. Even though I just randomly mailed him.

These 3 were God sent to me and are the reason I tried one more time for this study permit after 2 refusals.

One thing I just discovered from This Europe is that. If they refuse you. And you didn’t reapply. They will think you are just a jerk. My brother if they refuse you. Reaply again and again and again. Their father.
They will get tire and give you the visa. I applied Germany and they refuse me. And I keep applying again. To France and I got them on balls.

Okay,It's PPR alert guys!!! So in May 3rd 2023,my first visa application was refused,I used an agent. So in June 2023,part 22 of this thread,I came here to get ways to tackle the V.Os concern and so many people responded,but I specifically thank Zubireta and Francophone who I personally contacted and they gave me advice on how to tackle it. I also used help from people outside this forum and submitted again Sept 22nd 2023..... Been waiting since then,and bout an hour ago, Boom!! Good afternoon house, I got the attached email yesterday afternoon. Then I went to VFS this morning with my passport for submission but I was told that it was an error email so they didn't allow me drop my passport saying they will contact me again. Please has anyone ever experienced this?? What was the later outcome??

THEY Will increase it when u have used 2 of their visa.

if u switch to France they might start from 15 or 30 Days stay too like Italy started with you

Update on this my post from last month. Thanks to everyone that responded.

So I eventually got my biometrics request letter 10 days after submission.
I didn't contact IRCC during the wait because the page said to wait till 30 days before contacting them on an ongoing application.

Brief details on my case: This is not my first Canadian visit visa. I also have a valid US visa.
My old biometrics was to expire in 2027, and I had just renewed my Passport to a 10 year passport, so I opted to re-submit biometrics so that I could be issued a longer validity visa.
Yes. They issued me a 10 year visa.

Here is my timeline again

Submitted my application online on October 14th
Didn't get my biometrics request letter immediately. It took 10 days.
Got Biometrics request letter on October 24th
Checked for appointments on October 25th and Scheduled Biometrics capture for October 27th
Got Passport request letter and Biometrics Validity letter on November 3rd
Checked for appointments on November 5th and booked an appointment for Passport submission on November 7th
I asked the lady who collected my Passport if I could pay for courier to return my Passport and she gave me a form to fill. I paid with my Naira debit card at her counter.
Got a series of emails as my passport was moved around.
I got an SMS from DHL that my Passport was picked up in Lagos on November 10th
I received my Passport with the 10 year visa via DHL on 13 November 2023

I completed my biometrics on October 20th, and my departure is scheduled for December 12th, but I haven't received a response. Should I consider reaching out to their embassy?
