My application was refused this afternoon based on purpose of visit, insufficient funds and asset lol.

I'm going for a year course, tuition is 18,000 Cad out of which 10,000 Cad has been paid remaining 8,000 Cad.

I am self sponsor and going with 2 of my kids

Bank statement of almost 20M provided, pay stubs, employment letter, confirmation and promotion letters, my CAC documents registered 7 years ago, land documents valued at 30M etc.

I appreciate your well wishes and prayers.

I gave this application my best but sadly, it was not enough.

I am about to order for CBSA note to really understand their reasons for refusal.

I'm not sure about reviewing SOP cos I'm not a guru here, I simply wrote what I felt would present me in a good light. You can consult the gurus here to help or you can ask specific questions about any part of your SOP and I'll give you my opinion.

My timeline - First time self applicant - New portal.

*Biometrics letter came 8th July
*Biometrics appointment - 14th July
*Medicals updated - 19th July

This application was just God. My first post on thread 21 is attached to show you how nervous and scared I was.
I made up my mind and started the journey in May 2022, got admission 3 weeks into the month and came to Nairaland for visa application advice. I went through several threads before arriving at thread 21 and I was immediately discouraged with the documents I saw people packaging. People had landed properties, business/personal/sponsors accounts with tens/hundreds of millions as turnover and balance, gift deeds here and there, affidavits of different kinds, scholarships etc, so I spent the entire June gathering the documents I could.
I had over 30 supporting documents so shrinking it to 2mb was no child's play. I eventually did and uploaded without checking it. I checked afterwards and realized that [/b]half of documents were blurry and unreadable[b], I almost died lol. I just left everything. I'm not a spiricoco person but I don't doubt the God factor so I prayed the little I could every morning till PPR dropped.
My take away:
Your documents and packaging are important but at the end it's God so don't get carried away with self confidence and don't be discouraged as well, put in your best and leave the rest to God.
I had up to 15 SOP drafts till I couldn't draft any more and used the last one to apply so don't underestimate the power of your SOP and do a good job with it.

I have been a silent reader and it won’t be nice if I fail to share this great joy with my Nairaland family .

Timeline ;

I will say I’m a third time applicant though first was a visiting visa around 2018 and I was denied based on financial status and assets.

Second application which is for study and that was when i got to know about Nairaland Travel section and I messaged @Anon123 and asked him to guide me through with my application . Then we submitted on 5th of April 2022 after two month, 8th June hot breakfast was served and we applied for gcms immediately and it came out around 29th of July :

Refusal reasons: unexplained lump sums and also the VO stated that the cooperate account statement provided that I did not explain relationship b/w the employee/employer .

What we did different : I paid additional tuition of 9500$ with the previous deposit of 2000$ making it a total sum of 11500$ ,I also went to bank requested for a reference letter stating that am sole signatory to my cooperate and savings account and also added few sales receipts /invoice of my business then we re-fired on 21st of August and PPR dropped on 10th of November.

Documents submitted

3. Marriage certificate
4. Cac certificate
5. My wife’s cac certificate
6. 2 power of attorney of landed documents
7. Property valuation certificate
8. Tenancy agreements from my tenants

What is bothering me now is that I can’t find my biometrics receipt anymore though will be doing walk in passport submission since I live in Abuja until I get there this week will find a way out .

You can request for it via the platform , or you attach your ctc(certified true copies) forms which shows the status of your company as active. Can only be issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission.

The visa is fake. It happened to someone that entered Bahrain with me. All the way from Nigeria, it wasn't detected as fake, we go to Addis Ababa, he skaled through. All for us to arrive our final destination Bahrain, three of them were asked to be deported as their visas were fake. Imagine such a devastating moment

I sent ny passport and my kids to vfs office yesterday and paid 9290 each. Total of 27750.
I got a call today that I have to buy 9990 each .
Otherwise they won't treat the passport.
M just confused .

wow, you should have start your process since, lagos date rarely release, if you are frequent traveler you could get one

but abuja is always on, you can try and check on their website to know the available appointment date

I am planning to apply for a Canadian tourist visa , i have no one to send me invitation from Canada but i plan to go as a tourist where i'd book hotel and visit some tourist attractions. i have been to 18 countries including Uk 3 times and France 3 times other Schengen countries about 2 . I have also been to Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles ,Cape Verde and few African countries. My question is... do i stand a chance of securing a tourist visa with Canada? and i'd also like to know if this is a good time to apply and if my application will be attended to .I plan to submit January and to travel June 2023. What are my Chances and what would you advice i do? your response will be highly appreciated.

so far you have your visa and still valid
your travel plan can change, so i dont think there is issue on that
