Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has been urged to avert bloodshed in Amiyi community in Ogbaru Local Government Area by wading into the leadership tussle that is tearing the community apart. Protesters from the community, who on Wednesday besieged the Anambra State Government House from the border community, accused the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon Greg Obi, of masterminding the crisis in the area. A septuagenarian, Elder Basil Ononuju, who spoke for the protesting locals during a protest to the government house in Awka said, “We are calling on the governor to call the commissioner to order and also wade into this problem to avert bloodshed. “We had our election and have already elected the president General of our community, Comrade Chike Ugboma, but some government officials are foisting Nwanze Afubero who is a former President General on us, even though he had served out his three year term. “The way this is going, there will be serious crisis in the village if Obiano does not wade into it now, and should there be any loss of life in our community, then government should be held responsible because they are trying to instigate crisis in our community,” Ononuju said. The protesters carried placards with several inscriptions to bring to the notice of the state governor the plight of the people of the community. Some of the placards read: Obiano, we supported your election, come to our aid; Obiano call your commissioner, Greg Obi to order; Greg Obi has murdered sleep in Amiyi community, amongst others. Mr Henry Nwasike, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, who addressed the protesters, assured them that the governor would address their grievances. “We urge you to remain peaceful. Do not take the laws into your hand by engaging in violence, we will convey your message to the governor, and very soon, the trouble in your community would be resolved,” Nwasike said. www.dailypost.ng/2019/09/25/obiano-urged-avert-looming-bloodshed-anambra-community/amp/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 |
The Army says Operation Positive Identification will checkmate bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers, ethnic militia, and cattle rustlers. The Nigerian Army has announced that Operation Positive Identification will be extended nationwide to combat insecurity. The Army's Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD) had previously commenced the operation in the northeast on Sunday, September 22, 2019, to intensify its efforts against Boko Haram fighters that have terrorised the region for the past 10 years. OPLD's Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Ado Isa, said on Sunday the operation became necessary following credible information that some of the terrorists were hibernating in some towns and villages of Borno and Yobe states in particular and the northeast in general. However, in a statement signed by the Army's Acting Director of Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, on Wednesday, September 25, he said the operation will now extend across the entire nation. The operation, according to him, will help to checkmate bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers, ethnic militia, cattle rustlers, as well as other criminals across the various regions of Nigeria. Nigerians are advised to always carry valid means of identification as troops are instructed to strictly check valid means of identification such as national identification card, voters registration card, drivers' license and international passports, or other valid official identification. Anyone not positively identified will attract further scrutiny and comprehensive investigation, according to Isa's Sunday statement. The Army announced just a day after the commencement of the operation that it led to the arrest of five key Boko Haram fighters and logistics suppliers. Other Army operations to commence across Nigeria Col. Musa also announced that the Army is set to commence simultaneous routine training exercises in the various geo-political zones of Nigeria. "The exercises are Exercise AYEM AKPATUMA II in the North Central and parts of North Western States of Benue, Nasarawa, Kogi and Taraba as well as Kaduna and Niger States in 1 and 3 Divisions Area of Responsibilities (AOR) including Headquarters Command Army Records, Guards Brigade and 707 Special Forces Brigade; Exercise EGWU EKE IV which will be carried out in the South Eastern part of Nigeria comprising Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States in 82 Division AOR; while Exercise CROCODILE SMILE IV will as usual take place in the South South and parts of South Western States of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Lagos, Ogun and Rivers States in 2, 6, 81 and 82 Divisions' AOR," he said. The Nigerian Army Women Corps will also stage a robust show of force/confidence building patrols in some selected locations in Nigeria. Col. Musa urged Nigerians not to panic at the sight of an increased presence of military personnel and other security agencies. "The Nigerian Army wishes to reassure the nation of her commitment and determination to secure the country, protect lives and properties of all Nigerians (which in addition to training of her personnel) is one of the basis for the exercises," he said. The exercises will start simultaneously on October 7, and end on December 24, 2019, according to the statement. https://www.pulse.ng/news/local/operation-positive-identification-army-extends-anti-boko-haram-operation/94b5rhy Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44

The Federal Government has recently commenced a clampdown on illegal roadside dealers of cooking gas, originally known as Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG in Lagos and Abuja. The government had in May, said it has commenced a policy to remove ownership of Liquefied Petroleum Gas cylinders from consumers, while dealers would be barred from refilling gas cylinders by the roadside and other unauthorized places. The policy, the government said, would require that the ownership of the cylinders rests solely with the dealers and distributors. Officers of the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, in conjunction with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, flagged off the enforcement in Abuja and environs, with the operations aimed at curbing the illegal activities of LPG retailers and skid operators, and five illegal operators were arrested. READ ALSO: Saraki, Akpabio, Keyamo, 40 others make Buhari’s ministerial list Visiting Galadimawa, Lokogoma axis and other suburbs within the city, where the team clamped down on illegal operators found dispensing gas in very dangerous circumstances without the necessary safety precautions. Head of Gas of the DPR, Engr. Umar Gwandu said most of the illegal outlets lacked basic and standard minimum requirements like fire extinguishers and detectors, water sprinkler, temperature gauge, pressure and volume gauge among others. Speaking at one of the illegal outlets in Galadimawa, Gwandu said, “This place can easily explode if there is any spark. Even with a very tiny leakage, once there is a spark, this place is gone. We have come here several times as you can see from our seal. These people are not ready to comply. If there is any spark here this place can go up in flames in seconds.” Some of the measures shared by the Department of Petroleum Resources include: Replace instead of repairing a faulty cylinder. It is unsafe to repair a faulty gas cylinder. Buy your gas cylinders from certified LPG plant. Exchange of empty gas cylinders with a full one is best practice instead of refiling from another cylinder If you are buying LPG cylinder, look for Nigerian Industrial Standard number on the body of the cylinder. Gas cylinders are to be kept outside or in an open and well-ventilated area. Other safety tips to keep in mind include, 6. Keep empty cylinders away from full ones, says SafetyandHealth magazine 7. The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Safety Association of Southern Africa advises that you test any gas appliance for possible leaks by spraying a soap-water solution on all connections. Leaks will show in the form of bubbles and must be repaired immediately 8. Do not use aerosols or flammable, cleaning liquids or sprays close to the heater |

goaldynboy:Ibadan is three times bigger than Lagos and all the old part can't just disappear in just a short period of time. You will still find the old part of London Every city in the world can't be like New York because I know you love worshiping your white masters Onitsha and Aba is notorious as the dirtiest city in the world, Anambra is notorious as a state without toilet. You can find all kind of roofs in Ibadan, so why are you not talking about the picture of Ibadan below with no brown roofs? Even if Ibadan have no brown roofs you will still have something bad to say about it. The Joke is on you because Nyamirin in Ibadan alone are more than all Yoruba in the East. Stay in your Eldorado in the East and stop migrating like there is a war going on in the East.

You can even find some pictures with different colors of roofs in the pictures above, it is something that should be cherish because it is Heritage of the city and what make the city unique. This is picture of Florence a city in Italy looking like Ibadan, I wonder if Italians make jest of it too Let them continue to wallow in their buffoonery
