i live in Abuja and MARRIED!!! i can say there is no curfew in Abuja!!!! the directive was that parks and gardens that admits kids should close by 6pm and parks and gardens that sells alcohol including clubs, cinema outfits should close by 10pm unless they can provide adequate security!!!! get your information right peeps!!!! as a matter of fact i was at Krystal Lounge over the weekend with ma wife [size=14pt]and am still gonna be there TODAY[/size]!!!! miscommunications leads to complications!!!!!

Salam, Jamalah (author), although via phone, I throughly read your piece with rapt attention. It contains what's called an ugly truth and something else. Hence ma succint conclusion: you're right and not right. That I'll say more if we can privetely discuss.

BTW, am also from Kano; and still stay there. Besides, I'm younger than you, for I was much below 18 when the incident occured. And lastly, you MUST be new to this forum. I've been here since 2006.

I don't get it. Are you guys saying they shouldn't be granted bail Is the offence not bailable? Is it an offence subject to capital punishment? Where in the world would such an offence not be subject to bail? Are you guys saying that they should stay in detention for the duration of the trial even if the laws of the land say otherwise. Since when did granting bail become a basis for concluding that the Judiciary is corrupt?

Sometimes I just marvel at the things I read on nairaland. How old are you guys, Really!!

Hey Guys,

This is a country of rule of law. The offence for which the man is being suspected to have committed is a bailable offence and all he need prove (through his lawyer) is that he will not jump bail and will not jeopardize the course of investigation, he should not be denied bail thereafter. Shoudn't the state on the other hand have contested vigourously that bail should not be granted him as he is likely to do all the above and more? It is not the judiciary that you guys should blame, all rulings and judgments of the courts are grounded on the laws of these country made in the first place by the legislature and not the judges.

Having said that, i think we should take a social approach to deal with these guys that are fleecing us daily. THey will always find a loophole in the law to escape, (in recent times it is plea bargain) so why dont we deal with them the way they deal with thiefs in the rural communities. I am not suggesting jungle justice ooo
