Education / Best UK University For LLM In Maritime Law by purplish(f): 12:34am On Jun 26, 2013 |
Just putting the future into pesperctive, I'd really love to hear views from experienced and informed people on the best UK university for an LLM in Maritime Law. I heard Swansea University and University of Southampton have very dynamic Maritime Law departments...how true is this and how recognised are these schools certificates in the Nigerian Legal market? Also is it accurate to say that top notch Unis like Oxford, KCL, QCL, Cambridge and co might be highly ranked but are not necessarily the best place for a seasoned LLM in Maritime Law? Lawyers, Law students and students of other disciplines who are currently studying or have studied abroad, and/or have specific info, please comment. Kindly drop informed opinions! Thanx |

Don't just sit in ur bedroom and conclude that every scheme is fake...Though fake one's exist, don't let that rob u of ur rights. 1 Like |

Education / Re: My Seven Year Old Daughter And Her Teacher's BB by purplish(f): 6:58pm On Jun 13, 2013 |
I can understand ur shock...loool! I can't blame u and ur wife for ur conservative lifestyle, because everyone can't be outgoing and extroverted. However, u need to understand that the world is evolving VERY FAST. I have a six year old brother that asked me what abortion means only a few months ago! You can't also condemn her teacher for using her phone in front of her students, if you do that u'l have to condemn urself for using ur phone at work too despite the fact that you don't use a bb. As for your daughter, u can tell her things like her aunt has studied hard and worked for her money, and so she can afford to use a bb. Try to make her understand that she's not ripe for it yet. Exposure is a very good thing but it can be used either positively or negatively. Give ur kids exposure by urself, so that they don't have to learn everything from the society and learn it wrongly! I hope this helps |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Is It Better To Send Cvs In Pdf Or Word Format? by purplish(f): 11:09pm On Apr 23, 2013 |
For me, in cases where the recepient of ur cv doesn't specify(which is rare),I'd say send it in MS WORD...coz its the most widely accepted document format. I don't think its a "rare thing" not to find adobe/pdf reader on a computer...meanwhile almost every gadget can access word files. |

Education / Re: What Are The Characteristic Of Sharia Law by purplish(f): 7:32am On Apr 12, 2013 |
I studied Islamic law a.k.a shariah law as a 3rd year law student...and its really not as bad as pple (especially fellow christians) make it appear. The advantages are MANY! As regards Islamic banking and business laws, shariah law forbids the charging of interest on any loan or the addition of excess profit in business. This helps the society to be fair and just, and lessens d chances of d rich getting richer at the pauper's expense. Secondly, in sale of goods, Shariah law also prevents the sale of unwholesome or forbidden goods. For example, any transaction involving d illegal sale of weapons, pornographic materials, and animals forbidden in islam is voided by the shariah court. Again, shariah law equally consists of sayings of the prophet mohammed, which are really just and fair as well as morally formidable. Nevertheless, it is natural that all things have disadvantages, and d particular area I find bankrupt in shariah law is the shariah/islamic criminal law. Personally, I believe its REALLY strict, but do not forget that this is also a means to deter criminals in a sane society. I hope this helps! |

A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.My candid advice is that u stay in Uniport and complete your pharmacy. I'm an OAU student dear...if u come to OAU with the mindset that passion for engineering and hardwork would guarantee ur success, u just might be disappointed. I dont want u to bite ur fingers at d end of d day! pls sit in uniport and complete pharmacy. I wish u all d best. |

boron10: @OP are you for real? Would you rather have a dullard who knows how to cook as wife? Please en, gone are those days when men marry women solely because of their domestic skills. This is 21st century for crying out loud. You are even very lucky to find a Nigerian babe who is able to combine beauty with brain. Cooking is a trait any nonentity can learn within a week. I bet, if you think she isn't good for you, men who are far better would take her from you and you would end up regretting. Always try inviting her to the kitchen whenever you feel like cooking. Drop your ego i beg. A word is enough Spot on!!!! |
