Thanks mama. My hands are not visibly swollen...though I had to stop wearing my ring 2 months ago. Blood pressure is a little high but being closely monitored and I am on meds too.

Congrats to all my January teamies who have offloaded oh! I can't wait to join the league of mamas. Meanwhile, pelvic pain is doing me bad and my feet are soooo painfully swollen

Does anyone else find it weird when watsapp people buzz you to tell you you look preggy?. I mean you ignore all other status to tell me that?. How do you respond to that pls I just feel it’s a private/delicate journey not many people need to know about. How do you respond to these foolish questions

Womb watchers association of Nigeria Its your phone, your data, your app, so I feel it is very valid to read and ignore such questions if you don't feel comfortable sharing the info. Another thing that might be helpful is to restrict your status updates so that fewer people have access to them. This has saved me a lot of unnecessary talk so far.

Like stated earlier speak with your doctor about the likelihood of a CS if you opt for VD, then weight your options from there, and just know whatever decision you make is the best decision

Ok I get....
Unfortunately we don't have those transducers they put on the tummy to monitor fetal heart rate like they do abroad...this would have been a non issue.
I think you should ask the probability of the labour process leading to an emergency CS...from there you can make your decision.
Youd still spend time with your baby regardless. I started breastfeeding my baby immediately I was out of the theatre, only that they had to hand the baby to me cos I was lying on my back in the recovery room. And at the moment the only thing I'm not doing is bathing her cos my MIL is doing that.
But not to downplay it, CS is a major surgery and your body will feel it but if that's the solution to a healthy mother and child dont hesitate to opt for it.

*My only wahala with this CS is not having a shower for 2 weeks *

Although I would have thought that with a higher weight will come a bigger pelvic area and easier vaginal delivery...pls follow doctors recommendations.
Ask as many questions as necessary to help ease your fears and concerns. I'm 9 days post CS and the only serious pains I had was from degenerating fibroids...the incision area is pain free (except when they clean it with spirit). But youd need help with care afterwards....someone to help you clean your incision site with spirit and do stuff around the house as you aren't supposed to lift anything heavier than your baby.

So what he was saying was that with plus sized preggos, monitoring fetal heart beat and contractions during labour is harder and with the slight bp issues I have, they would need to monitor me as well as possible. I guess what makes the decision harder is that he is still saying I can opt for vaginal birth, as there are no strong indications that I can't go for that. As for after care, in between my husband and my mum, I should be fine if I opt for CS...just worried about having to spend time recovering as opposed to spending time with my baby and being active.

The decision to do cs or try vaginal birth is solely yours. I was given two options, to go for induction or do cs. Everyone except me and hubby said i should try induction first. We decided not to and it was the best decision as my baby was very weak at birth. My baby was big, that was why the gynae gave the advice. You can only be advised, nobody can decide for you


As for the healing period, i guess it defers for different people. Yesterday made it 3weeks i had my cs and i dont feel anything at all. As at 2weeks, the pain was already gone completely.

Sabi mamas, I want to pop! We are full term this week and I cannot take this pelvic pain any longer Apart from eating dates, walking and za oza room activities, please what else can I do to induce labour naturally?

Also, at my last appointment, the Gynae said he is considering CS for me because of my weight and slight bp issues. However, after a scan we saw that my baby weighed 2.7kg (36 weeks) and he said I should be able to have a vaginal birth. Though he made it clear that he would prefer for me to opt for CS because the stress of vaginal birth might be too much for someone with my weight and slightly high bp. While I am not totally against CS, I am a little worried about the recovery period when compared to vaginal birth. Any advice for me please?

You're not alone teamie...Let's just keep encouraging each other Apart from pelvic pains and sleeping up and down, I am good oh. We are going to be 36 weeks on Sunday, going by the pregnancy app I use. No worries, I hear that scans can be tricky as full term gets closer. Amen to your prayers!

Amen, We are doing great. Thanks for checking up on us. Baby is moving well and head down according to my last scan. My only issue is how bitter my mouth is and also the throwing up but not as bad as 1st trimester which I am grateful to God for.

Sorry teamie. I still throw up too (though also not as bad as 1st trimester) so I can totally relate. We are almost at the finish line

January mamas how are we doing? Long time no roll call
We thank God for bringing us this far, it feels like we are on the home run. Soon we'd be counting down single digits weeks remaining to the arrival of our LOs.
I hope we have started/almost concluded our shopping o...pls don't be like me cos I'm not leading by example. I'm trying to find the shopping list to share especially for FTMs to help with shopping....I'd post as soon as I find it.
Whats our third packages?

Heyyy Cappo! We thank God oh. Seems just like yesterday when I saw the BFP. Shopping is in motion oh...My mum has been amazing, buying so many cute stuff. As for my package, I am always super tired these days and really tempted to stop working so I can get more rest. Pelvic pain is also showing me pepper, coupled with crazy heart burn and some vomitting. Also keeping a close eye on my bp as it seems to be rising these days. In fact, porting is already a prayer point for me...but we give thanks in all.

Please does anyone have/has had experience dealing with pelvic pain? Been experiencing it since I was about 17 weeks and its getting so unbearable. Teamie I'm also having these pains/pressure once in a while when walking. And serious back pain sometimes. I was wondering if it's because placenta is anterior.

Anyway I'm happy to see that I'm not alone, so I guess it's just part of our package. I try not to stress myself whenever I'm feeling the pressure.

Awww! So sorry teamie. I feel comforted knowing I am not alone too. I also have back ache, by the mid/lower left side. Tempted to even stop work soon if it does not ease up as I noticed it gets better when I rest A LOT. Please take care of yourself.

Mamas, I am only 20 weeks and a few days and I already have pain in my vagina area. Its been on for a week now. Even though the scan says everything is fine, I am so worried as the pain affects my walking and its worse when I turn in bed. I cant even climb high stairs/car steps without feeling pain. Isn't it too early for me to be having this?

Awww, so sorry teamie. Don't give up hope, the nausea sometimes goes and comes back for a while before really reducing. About 2 weeks ago I still threw up, yesterday I felt a bit nauseous. Just that I can't compare these waves to the initial 1st trimester struggle.

MummyD2020 is on Tuesday and you've to be there as early as 6am because of the crowd. I went there few weeks ago to make enquiry I was told that the registration fee is 17,600 as first timer and the pregnancy weeks will determine if you'll pay more or not while and VD and CS fee is approximately 20,000 and 80,000 consecutively. So I plan to register with them at 33 weeks so I'm currently using private hospital. Safe delivery to us all
