Christianity Etc › Re: Equating Islam To Terrorism Is Foolish - Pope Francis by PVision2020(m): 5:14pm On May 30, 2018
sr:
Its hypocritical and ignorance for a Christian to accuse any other religion of violence. Let me give you a few from Bible rather, since some brother has done justice to this already, if you want more let me know.

No. 1:St Paul’s advice about whether women are allowed to teach men in church:

“I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.” (1 Timothy 2:12)

No. 2: In this verse, Samuel, one of the early leaders of Israel, orders genocide against a neighbouring people:

“This is what the Lord Almighty says... ‘Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’” (1 Samuel 15:3)

No. 3: A command of Moses:

“Do not allow a sorceress to live.” (Exodus 22:18)

No. 4: The ending of Psalm 137, a psalm which was made into a disco calypso hit by Boney M, is often omitted from readings in church:

“Happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us – he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.” (Psalm 137:9)

No. 5: Another blood-curdling tale from the Book of Judges, where an Israelite man is trapped in a house by a hostile crowd, and sends out his concubine to placate them:

“So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go. At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight. When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold. He said to her, ‘Get up; let’s go.’ But there was no answer. Then the man put her on his donkey and set out for home.” (Judges 19:25-28)

No. 6: St Paul condemns homosexuality in the opening chapter of the Book of Romans:

“In the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.” (Romans 1:27)

No. 7: In this story from the Book of Judges, an Israelite leader, Jephthah, makes a rash vow to God, which has to be carried out:

“And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord, and said, ‘If you will give the Ammonites into my hand, then whoever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return victorious from the Ammonites, shall be the Lord’s, to be offered up by me as a burnt-offering.’ Then Jephthah came to his home at Mizpah; and there was his daughter coming out to meet him with timbrels and with dancing. She was his only child; he had no son or daughter except her. When he saw her, he tore his clothes, and said, ‘Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low; you have become the cause of great trouble to me. For I have opened my mouth to the Lord, and I cannot take back my vow.’” (Judges 11:30-1, 34-5)

No. 8: The Lord is speaking to Abraham in this story where God commands him to sacrifice his son:

‘Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt-offering on one of the mountains that I shall show you.’ (Genesis 22:2)

No. 9: “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:22)

No. 10: “Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel.” (1 Peter 2:18)
You're mistaking Judaism for Christianity, the two are quite different - the difference being Jesus Christ.
Islam have more similitude to judahism than Christianity, that's why there are more Muslims in Israel than Christians, and the aggressive nature of Israel.
Jesus admonish his disciples (Christians) to love their enemies and do good to those who oppress them. He even went further to call those who abhors hatred towards others murderers. So to Christians when you hate, slander and back bite your neighbor you have committed a sin as greivious as murder, even when you've not committed the act.
That's why you will never see anybody kill in the name of Jesus despite Christians being killed in thousands. Christians won't retaliate violence even when pushed to the wall.

All the Old Testament (Torah) that you quoted above applies verbatimly/literarilly to Judahism and not christianity

When it comes to infrastructural development, Fayemi is far better than fayose but when it comes to carrying the people along, fayose is there.
But it's obvious that ekiti people prefer being carried along and a sense of belonging than projects.

How I wish the elite of the SE are the ones leading this freedom stuff and not some riff raff (whose voice or death means nothing to the world) organizing carnivals.

does spending from other states justify this grant?
All over the world, NGO's and social clubs that impact directly on the populace (e.g Red Cross, red crescent, doctors without borders, UNICEF etc) are funded by governments, corporate organizations, wealthy individuals and membership fees. So Lagos is not an exception.

The only objection would have been whether ambode followed due process in the disbursement of the fund.
Politics › Re: See Letter! Ambode Grants Polo Club N50 Million Lagos State Tax Payers Money by PVision2020(m):
If you know the amount of money social clubs like rotaract, lions club etc have invested in the social economic development of Nigeria over the years then you'll realize that 50m is just a token compare to what they've given back to the society.

People are quick to complain about this but won't say shiit about others that spent state resources organizing jamborees/parties on national televisions (AIT) on a weekly basis.

fergie001:
Why didn't you attack the writer?
Do not be clever by half...
Did he attack Yorubas?
Perhaps he attacked Wole,
You could have picked up your pen and attacked adichie,Achebe even ekwueme and the likes......
Who is now hating between your vitriols and the man's article....
You are saying they always complain...is it not within their exclusive rights to complain when their rights are impugned upon?
Did the Yorubas not also complain during the Jonathan presidency of marginalisation?
So what is your point?
I believe you not to be like someone I know here...
When Jonathan made a 'motorpark' reference to your elders which was in itself attrocious, you guys almost skinned him alive and rightly so.....then,look at yourself?a youth? Tomorrow's leader...a Yoruba friend of mine will say yinmu
Don't wear your tribe on your head, those who are dead,do not mark tribes on their graves...
You are as I said before, asinine to anything positive if you move on with this bestial and devil-may-care attitude...
Attack adichie, even attack the writer but do not bunch him with his tribe because they are good and bad everywhere....
You wanted to derail and start the tribal-ish,but you scored an own goal because you already want to be part of the few who think with their nostrils and not their head.....
You will complain when pushed to the wall, even northerners who have a large chunk of leadership also complain.....
The writer might have been too sensational....but this brickbat between Achebe and Wole has been on for years...

I have asked you again..
Would it be safe for me to say all Yorubas are vultures, into skull-mining,ritualists,prostitites,kidnappers and so on,and for you to show me one who is not,is to show a bastard..including you, your family?
How does that sound?does that not sound derogatory?
Does that not sound like speeches terrorists make before carrying out their actions?
Please,go to the mirror, and take a good look at yourself again and observe the fallacy you oozed out here....

Learn to live in peace with all men,so that you will live long....
Attack the issues the writer made that you see as been uncomfortable with, and not bunching a tribe.....I am helping you,in your quiet time, you will discover how 'off' your statement made you look....I know you will not admit it here, but I know you know....

Be wise...
Oga, your vetuperation and face saving can't eclipse fact. "Against facts there are no argument "...selah
Do have yourself a lovely weekend, and enjoy the UCL final.

Stop being economical with the truth, I'm too smart to be bamboozled by your hypocritical rants.
Right from the second paragraph, the writer has made it obvious that the argument was based on the fact that Soyinka was given the Noble prize in literature and Achebe wasn't. So it's crystal clear that had Achebe been awarded the Noble Laureate , "Igbo Amaka" would have been the music and not the petty-pseudo-Pan-African gospel you guys have been preaching about the award.
When Adichie won Pulitzer - Pulitzer wasn't racial.
Emegwali won numerous international awards, but you won't hear the igbo preachers come up with their pan- African gospel about the awards rather they will all shout igbo amaka.
Achebe himself was recognized all over world, but alas when it comes to igbos the world can't be racial and bias... lol.
The same thing played out in the last headies award.
The cry cry babies won't let us rest, " why won't headies "dash" at least one igbo award" they all cried, equating awards to the esusu traditional titles they dash to every Tom, dick and Harry in their enclaves.
Not forgetting that they've won and dominated this same award and several indeginous art and sport awards for a very long time without any other tribe crying foul.

Right from Zik to Ironsi to Ojukwu to Ekwueme to the lowest in the igbo caste system, this three things they've in common.
HATE, INFERIORITY COMPLEX & VICTIM MENTALITY
Politics › Re: Imperialism And Politics Of The Nobel Prize by PVision2020(m): 7:40am On May 26, 2018
Anything igbos can't or/ haven't attain, the next thing is to discredit it. When Chimamanda Adichie won a global award no one complain of it being a western award. To the typical igbo the Pulitzer award is non racial because Adichie won it while the noble laureate is racial because it wasn't awarded to Achebe.
Maybe you should also explain why Yorubas has won 14 Grammys and nominated severally while no igbos has won the Grammy. I guess Grammy is also racial or marginalizing igbos.

Hate, Inferiority complex and Victim syndrome is the genetic makeup of an igbo man. show me an igbo man without this trait and I'll show you a bastaard.

The worst of Apc is better than the best of PDP. pdp succeeded in institutionalising corruption in Nigeria. It's so unfortunate that they pioneered this present political dispensation. Provided a serious party was in charge of this country since 1999 we won't be in this mess that we find ourselves.

Inasmuch as I hate buhari, pdp is an anathema (abomination). Never again will they come close to Aso Rock.

In the west you're Judged/Accepted on the basis of Omoluabi and not by religious sentiment. Prof. Ishaq has demonstrated over time that he is a bigot and not the conventional liberal Muslims we have in the west.

100% Pythagoras. There is simply no basis for comparison. When Pythagoras was postulating the theorem for the Area of a right angle triangle (A^2+B^2 = C^2) Einstein was still in the bowel of his ancestors.
It was the finished works of Pythagoras and the other early days mathematicians/philosophers that Einstein and his mate relied on to make their famous discoveries.

People are addicted to gum Will you close down gum production companies?

Nature abhors a vacuum in this Nigeria? You think the pharmaceutical industry is baba ijebu?

Please tell me those that have replaced the defunct textile industries of the 70s and 80s.

You and your govt are not serious.
Your arguments have always been devoid of logic especially when it concerns the east or anyone related to the east. The
1. Who told you codeine is the best world cough "therapy"?
Codeine is just a narcotic that works by suppressing the cough reflex in the brain, eventually reducing the frequency of cough. It's neither the most active ingredient in cough cyrup nor does it cure cough all on it own. Just like every narcotics, codeine sends a false signal to the cough reflex in the brain but does nothing about the mucous concentration itself.

Narcotics have very high risk to benefit ratio due to its direct contact with the central nervous system hence it use and dosages are strictly regulated, requiring cooperation of both the manufacturers and regulators.
2. Let Emzor and the others show Nafdac and Ndlea the documents stipulating the quantity of codeine imported or produce, the quantity use in the production of cough cyrups and other drugs that requires the use of codeine and the quantity of drugs involving codeine permitted by the regulatory body to be produced and sold during the time under review.
3. No company is bigger than humanity, so if Emzor and the others are found culpable of the offence, they should be made to face the full wrath of the law.
