If the dead in Christ are already with Christ, what is the purpose of the resurrection ? Paul says that both the dead in Christ and those who are alive will meet with Jesus and be forever with him at this second coming , not before.

If death is the hope of us Christians, what makes us different from the death cults who kill their members en masse so as to be with their creator in Paradise ?

Is death our hope , or is the resurrection our hope ?


Or do you have no answer to this simple question ? Surely as a teacher or student who has possession of the truth, you should be able to enlighten us ignorant ones , no ?

So if a young believer asks you this simple question, what will you tell him ? nothing ?

Enough accounts have shown that heaven and paradise are real...............all servants of God including abraham have been anticipating eternal life........infact it was why Jesus was sent,to open that way.......Jesus did not come to create your hell fire chamber.......

And don't say that the JW's said there would be no literal eternal torment,instead say the scriptures says so...because it is the scriptures that has told us what the lake of fire means..............

When you say eternal presence with God,what exactly do you mean??......

The punishment of the wicked which is eternal is DEATH.

This is one of the most wicked lies against God. It portrays God in a way that drives people from worshipping him. Who really would want to worship such an obviously wicked God? Death ( absence of life) is the punishment for sinning, not eternal torture. And the dead know nothing, can feel nothing.

Romans 6:23 -- "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord".

Romans 6:7 -- "because anyone who has died has been freed from sin".

Ezekiel18:20 -- " The soul who sins is the one who will die . The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him".

Eccl 9:5-6,10 -- "For the living know that they will die,but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten. Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun". "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom".

"Lake of fire" is not a place of torment- it's permanent destruction/removal - where there's no possibility of reversal. Even death and hell ( which really stands for "grave" ) will be permanently removed. All humans portrayed as being in fire is symbolic and denotes permanent death or non-existence with no possibility of coming back to life (resurrection) .

Rev 20:13-14 -- "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire".

All references to torment is not literal, but symbolic- else how would a drop of water quench thirst? This literal eternal torment teaching is annoyingly senseless.

Jesus Christ came to defeat our enemy which is death and redeem us by his blood to an eternal hope through the resurrection.

Paul made it quite plain that if Jesus did not resurrect from the dead then the dead in Christ have perished and have no hope, resurrection is our only hope.

Stop hoping in death to meet Jesus, hope in the resurrection into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
