Christianity EtcRe: Why Has Preaching About Hell Reduced In Churches? by Pygru: 12:38am On Apr 29, 2013
Jesus never sent you to preach about Hell! When He was about leaving to meet our God, He said..."Go yea into all nations and preach THE GOSPEL..." Gospel means the good news of the salvation which God has brought to humanity without prejudice.

No man will ever get saved by the threat of a message of Hell fire, rather, Gods redeeming works and His power to save is in the message of repentance unto righteous by accepting the ULTIMATE sacrifice of Jesus, wherein His blood was shed on the cross and His body broken that ALL man may no longer live under the bondage of sin, death and grave.

I repeat, the message of Hell fire will never set any man free from the bondage of sin and death so why not preach JESUS and let the HOLY SPIRIT convict that soul and set them free for eternity in Christ?
shocked

Am not saying that am free of anger rather I said that for that particular reply he said I was angry, I wasn't angry. When am angry I show it plain, I don't hide it.
Honestly, I always laugh at the zeal Ola is using to defend his church before replying him. If am angry, the words I ll be using to reply him will not be compared with this ones that you called anger. Am thru with this topic of hell that's why am not talking about it. The in-thing now is that Ola must change his deeper life mentality and have the mentality that its all about Jesus and not church. You too must change if you have church mentality.
Now friend, you owe me your prayers that God should KICK anger outta me. I ve never said am perfect. I have weak points here and there so remember me in your prayers as we match along to heaven. God will help us to make heaven. Amen.
Thanks.

Christianity EtcRe: Experiencing The Lord's Goodness by Pygru: 10:57am On Apr 20, 2013
frosbel: Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalm34:8 )
The Scriptures clearly declare that the knowledge of the Lord is for developing a relationship, not merely cataloging correct information about Him. Grace and peace are to be "multiplied to" us (2 Peter 1:2), not justmemorized by us. "All things that pertain to life and godliness" (2 Peter 1:3) are to be drawn upon for godly living, not merely listed to validate our orthodoxy. As we get toknow the Lord, His goodness is to be experienced in our lives.
Our present verse is quite forthright concerning this point. "Oh, taste and see thatthe LORD is good." The Lord is good. He is merciful, kind, gracious, and patient. The Scriptures abound with declarations of God's goodness. "Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever" (Psalm 107:1). This goodness of God is to be experienced by God's people."My people shall be satisfied with My goodness" (Jeremiah 31:14). We are to"taste and see" God's goodness, not only to hear of it and talk about it.
How does a person experience the goodness of the Lord? "Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!" God's goodness is available for our personal experience whenever we trust in Him. "Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!" (Psalm 31:19).When we rely upon the Lord, His goodness brings forth peace in our lives. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You" (Isaiah 26:3). When we depend upon the Lord, His goodness brings forth rejoicing in our lives. "Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name" (Psalm 33:20-21).
It should not be surprising to us that faith inthe Lord is the pathway to experiencing His goodness. We have noted in a number of these meditations that faith is one of the relational realities that allows a child of God to live by His grace. Faith accesses grace (Romans 5:2). "The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him" (Lamentations 3:25).
We trust in the Lord the more we get acquainted with Him. We trust in the Lord the more we seek Him to demonstrate His faithfulness. "And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You" (Psalm 9:10).
Lord, You are so good! Too often I fail to experience Your goodness, because I do nottrust in You. Forgive me, Lord. I long to taste of Your goodness. Teach me to live in dependence upon You, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Christianity EtcRe: We Are Called To Be Rejected And Persecuted By Men by Pygru:
frosbel: "All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted." ( 2 Tim.3:12 )

Jesus told His disciples that in the worldthey would face tribulation (Jn.16:33); and He prayed to the Father NOT to take His disciples out of the world (Jn.17:15).
The apostles taught believers that only through much tribulation they could enter the kingdom of God (Acts 14:22).
Jesus said that if people had called the head of the house Beelzebul, the members of His household would be called by worse names (Matt.10:25). It is thus that we know we are faithful members of His household. Some of the names that I have been called, by other"believers", have been: "Devil", "Son of the Devil", "Evil spirit", "Antichrist","Deceiver", "Terrorist", "Murderer", and"Diotrephes". It has been a great honour to be identified thereby as a part of Jesus' household. All who serve the Lord faithfully will experience this.
Jesus also said that a true prophet would not be honoured by "his own relatives" (Mk.6:4). Jesus Himself was not accepted by His family members. Every true prophet of God will be rejected and dishonoured by his own relatives, even today. In the same way, a true apostle will also be "slandered and treated as the scum of the world and the dregs of all things" (1 Cor.4:13). Suffering and rejection have always been the appointed lot of God's greatest servants
We are not called to suffer persecution, we should expect to be persecuted!
The teaching that the church will be raptured before the "great tribulation" is a popular one with most believers because it comforts their flesh to hear it. But Jesus made it very clear in Matthew 24:29-31 that He will return totake His elect only AFTER the “great tribulation”. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE VERSE IN THE ENTIRE NEW TESTAMENT THAT TEACHES HAT THE CHURCH WILL ESCAPE THE GREAT TRIBULATION BY BEING RAPTURED OUT OF IT. This doctrine was invented by a man in England in the mid-1800s.
We must now prepare the church for persecution.

Christianity EtcRe: Guilt-trip Preaching by Pygru: 9:19am On Apr 20, 2013
frosbel: God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it" ( John 3:17 -Living)

When we preach God’s Word, we must NOT preach it in such a way that we make God’s people feel guilty and condemned.
The Bible tells us to "ENCOURAGE one another" - and to do it "DAILY", if we want to save God's people from "being HARDENED through the DECEITFULNESS of sin" (Heb.3:13). That means that EVERY day, in EVERY message we preachwe must ENCOURAGE the believers we preach to. Only thus will we be able to save them from sin. But Satan deceives us into thinking that we can make believers more holy and more devoted to God by making them feel guilty through our preaching. That is a lie.
The Holy Spirit does indeed convict God's children through the preaching of the Word. But He encourages them atthe same time too. As we just read, Goddid not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world. And God did not send His Spirit into the church to condemn believers but to encourage them. God is a God of encouragement. He always lifts up our spirits and gives us HOPE (See Rom.15:5; and 2 Cor.1:3,4). A ministry of condemnation is "an old covenant ministry" that will only lead people to spiritual death (See 2 Cor.3:7-9). The new covenant ministry however is a ministry of life that will lead them to godliness.
It is easy to fall into the trap of exposing sin in such a way in our preaching, that believers feel condemned and guilty. Then we have FAILED in our ministry and sent people on a "guilt trip". Such man-induced guiltcan become a prison from which people will find it very difficult to extricate themselves.
It is a common technique among preachers (especially when they are young, inexperienced and insecure, or when they feel inferior and want to impress people) that they preach a high, unrealistic standard of holiness and thus make everyone (except themselves!!) feel guilty. The level of life they preach will be something that is impossible to achieve. It will be a level that even Jesus and the apostles did notpreach or ask others to live by. These preachers themselves do not live by the standards they preach. But weak-minded believers hear their sermons and feel condemned and guilty – and get discouraged.
Most of the challenges given to believers in Christian circles, to enter into "full-time" Christian service or missionary work are based on this"guilt-trip" method. The need in variousparts of the world is stressed by the preacher to such an extent that the listeners feel guilty and some of them end up quitting their jobs in order to go out as missionaries. But Jesus and the apostles never used such techniques to send anyone into the harvest field of the world. Jesus told His apostles to go to every nation in the world and to make disciples. But He did not send them out by making them feel guilty by comparing their comfortable life in Israel with the poverty in other parts of the world. It is because of such"guilt-trip" methods adopted by preachers that there is so much of shallowness among most Christian workers today. Most of them went forthto “serve the Lord” because they felt guilty about remaining in their secular jobs, after hearing a missionary challenge. God had never called them toHis service. But they went forth, propelled by feelings of guilt. Full-time Christian work is such a sacred task that we have no right to engage in it, if God Himself did not call us to it.
Most of the teaching on tithing and giving in Christendom today also follows this guilt-trip method. Believers are made to feel terribly guilty for not giving money for “God's work”. Thus they end up giving thousands of rupeesof their hard-earned savings to covetous preachers for their "ministry". This is one of the worst evils being perpetrated by preachers today, on poor believers – and it is all being done"in the Name of Christ". We never find Jesus using such high-pressure methods at any time.
As usual.

Christianity EtcRe: Facts You Should Know About Jehovah's Witnesses by Pygru(op): 10:35pm On Apr 16, 2013
Pygru: Salvation.

The Bible teaches that the atoning work of Christ alone provides the solution for man's sin problem. Jesus Christ took the personal sins of all men-past, present and future-in his own body on the tree (I Pet. 2:24), and as perfect God and perfect man he fully met the demands of Divine justice for us (Rom. 3:22-26).
Therefore, any and all who receive him by simple faith (John 1:12; Acts 16:31), can be forgiven, declared righteous and restored to fellowship with God (2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 7:24-26).

By contrast, the WTB&TS teaches that only an elite group of Witnesses, known as "the 144,000," or the "anointed ones" are presently credited with Christ's righteousness. Only the 144,000 are born again and expect to reign with Christ in heaven.
For the vast majority of remaining JWs, known as the "other sheep" or the"great crowd," the atoning sacrifice of Christ only provides a chance at eternal life on earth.

The Bible also teaches that we are saved by grace alone apart from any self-righteous works (Eph.2:8-9).
There is nothing we can do to contribute to our salvation because apart from Jesus Christ we are "dead in our sins" (Eph. 2:1,5).

By contrast, the WTB&TS teaches that salvation "will depend on one's works ."
A person must first "come to Jehovah ' s organization for salvation and then comply with everything they teach. In this way, a relationship with the Jehovah's Witnesses organization, rather than a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, is presented as the basis of salvation.

The Soul & Eternal Punishment.

The Bible teaches that the human soul continues to exist consciously after death (Is.14:9-11; Luke 16:19-31;Rev 6:9-11). Those who have rejected God's gift of eternal life will suffer conscious eternal punishment (Matt. 25:41,46; Rev. 14:10,11; 20:10,15).

By contrast, the WTB&TS denies eternal punishment and teaches that the soul cannotexist apart from the body. JWs believe that death ends all conscious existence. Hell refers to the grave and those who are ultimately judged by God will be annihilated and simply cease to exist.

The Bible. The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit's anointing enables individual Christians to understand God's Word and properly apply it to their lives ( I John 2:27).

By contrast the WTB&TS teaches that the Bible can only be interpreted by the Watchtower Society and no individual can learn the truth apart from them.
