Pls house help me out, how do I reapply and prove that I have a genuine reason for applying for PGC after I have obtained MBA here in Nigeria. I have made the mistake of mentioning the MBA in the first application and I can't remove it again. I was refused based on travel history and purpose of visit and I wish to try this last time before giving up. Anyone with suggestions on these two exceptions.NB. I have travelled only once to the UK in 2014.
Hello, sorry about your refusal however the TRAVEL HISTORY is not what you should worry yourself about. your major concern should be the purpose of visit. many applicants have made the same error of declaring their post-graduate qualifications. I can also testify that 2 applicants that applied for a PGD program with their master's degree and still got approved. GCMS notes may sound repeated but you need to be 100% certain that your refusal was strictly based on over-qualification reasons.

My advice for you would have been to apply for a POST BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA PROGRAM. This is the only recognized PGD program in Canada that allows you to obtain credits in a different discipline. let me explain how to make use of these programs;

scenario 1: An Engineering student that wants to understand the business aspects of running an organization but obviously did not take business courses in the undergraduate and even masters level can enroll for POST BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION. Therefore gaining valuable business credits to supplement his previous qualifications.

Scenario 2: An accounting professional with a master's degree who wants to understand the relationship/nexus between IT AND FINANCE can undergo a program in POST BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA IN DATA ANALYTICS. Therefore once again gaining credits in an unfamiliar field to supplement previous qualifications.

A lady I know personally as a BSc degree in Accounting and MBA. she is also a chartered accountant and still got approved to study a program in POST BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA IN FINANCE. Please note that accounting and finance are two different things. hence, The difference between finance and accounting is that accounting focuses on the day-to-day flow of money in and out of a company or institution, whereas finance is a broader term for the management of assets and liabilities and the planning of future growth

all the best.....

The best thing you can figure out especially for cheap schools is to verify their REFUND POLICY. Some schools don't refund TUITON deposits even in the event of getting a visa refusal. Always verify and if you aren't sure send an email to the international department.

Hello, house

Please, I have a question. I have funds in some of my savings accounts. I want to consolidate all these funds into the main account I will be using for my application. I hope this won't pose a red flag to the VO. If there is a better way to go about this, please enlighten me. Thank you all! Like Mr. Frank will say, "it will end in praise."

And other gurus.
There isn't a limit to the number of statement of accounts you can use. If you plan to have all your funds in one account weeks before submitting then that's fine but if it's the other way round then it might raise concerns.

Thank you very much. To be honest, I don't know the extent of the verification you are talking about. By my guess, nnpc, shell, federal govt jobs and others are definitely verifiable. But I ain't working with any of those. However, this company is registered with CAC and they have online profile. Does that clicked into the description of being 'verifiable'
Yes it does. I remember an applicant on this platform that also included a copy of the companies CAC certificate to back things up

Hi everyone, I wanna seek the opinion of the experienced ones, please.

I got a study leave approval from my company.

I just want to ask, is submitting a study leave approval not a red flag to the vo. I'm going for a 2years master's program.

Please help with your insight

No it is actually a good proposition that you have a job waiting for you after your program in Canada. Also a good home tie especially if the salary and benefit is competitive. So if it's a salary range of 300/400k upwards then it's good.

N.b: It is always nice if the leave letter is from a reputable and verifiable organization.

Qudkom, thanks for the response.

Yes u are correct, actually am not purchasing it yet, I jz want to enquire about what Frankrobbn said about showing funds for FLIGHT ITINERARY in a post here sometime ago

But I would love to know if its compulsory/necessary to show the funds available for that or not.

If YES, am i going to talk about the funds available for TO & FRO flight or jz the funds for the TO (Departure Flight)

All this for the Essence of POF in SOP

Thanks
No you don't need to show a separate proof of your ability to buy a travel ticket. Everything is aggregated in your proof of funds.

Hello Qudkom,

Hope you keeping safe and been a while. However, a personally owned/father/mother/family company has no red flag of what sort. Maybe only on the grounds of financial strength or capacity of the company that may tend to be the red flag. And using the company letterhead has nothing to do with the funds but a supportive way to demonstrate an active/reliable source of funds. Keep staying safe bro.

One love!
Yes I know using a company account can be used for a visa application but it can't be solely depended on. I have also seen gcms notes making comments on the use of Company funds for sponsorship. That is why I always advice the use of company account and the personal savings account of the sponsor also. Therefore, the company account shows a proof of employment on the part of the sponsor and the savings account/fixed deposit etc shows the personal savings that's available to sponsor the applicant. Cheers and stay safe bro.

Good Morning All, as regards letter of sponsorship from my Dad, should I use his personal letter head (just his name and address) ? or his company letterhead (because aside his personal statement of account, I’m also using his company statement of account)?

Thanks
letter of sponsorship should be written on a blank canvass. you do not want the VO thinking he is using company funds to sponsor you which is usually seen as a red flag. the purpose of the company account is to show proof that your father as a reliable source of income and not to dip into working capital to sponsor your education.

Hello everyone, a friend is 40, has only a bachelors in mathematics, has been an office manager for 18 years . Lost her job due to the COVID situation and wants to be a nurse now. Wishes to go to school in Canada. She will be leaving behind her four teenagers and spouse who will come to visit from time to time. No travel history at all.
She has a very healthy POF to take care of all expenses. Does she stand a chance at 40? From the VO's perspective should she be studying something closely related to her first field of study to improve her chances of an approval and change course while in school? or should she apply for a nursing program indicating that she wants a change of career and leave it to VO and God?
my advice to her would be to come for a program related to hr field. when she gets to Canada she can always figure out a way to switch career. a lot of people do that here in Canada. the most important thing is to get in first. Age is not a barrier she just needs to be very convincing.

A Quick one...

As regards Proof of Funds, if someone wants to talk about funds for FLIGHT ITINERARY , am i going to talk about the funds available for TO & FRO flight or jz the funds for the TO (Departure Flight)

Thanks..
Firstly, I need you to understand that It is not advisable to purchase a travel ticket until you have been approved. most especially if the ticket is non-refundable. also with the Covid situation in the world most Canadian embassies have been shut down therefore making the processing of applications slow.

You can start with your Statement of account. You don't have to scan every individual page. You can simply remove some certain pages especially dates that have in-active transfers. Also look into changing some of the documents to black and white format.

In reference to the recent Covid-19 virus some certain provinces in Canada are already making plans to reduce some of the restrictions therefore by mid march things are hopefully expected to relax. I can say for sure that British Columbia will relax some of their restrictions. So if you are enrolled into any school in BC then there is hope. I personally don't see the logic of paying so much fees are been confined to online courses from your home country.

Good evening,

Thanks for all your contributions and answers to my previous questions. However, I have a few more questions that i need to ask;

1. Can i use the statement of account that i request through the mobile app and is delivered directly to my email address? or must i visit the bank and get it stamped? NB: The statement has the bank's watermark.

2. According to the Canadian immigration requirement for a student visa, I need to show funds for year one alone. Do i need to show funds for year 2 also?

Thanks in anticipation.
Yes you can definitely do that. However, you will need a bank reference letter to accompany it. Matter of fact the downloaded PDF versions are actually better than the printed copies.

You are required to show funds for just one year. Buy hey, there isn't anything bad if you can show more financial proof beyond that. I have seen GCMS notes that clearly stated "applicant hasn't shown enough proof that he/she can fund future Canadian expenses" that's even after paying tuition and showing living expenses.

Hello everyone,like to know how long an undergraduate application process takes?
plus if undergraduate application has more chance.
from a Nigerian perspective enrolling or applying for a BSc program depend on some key factors;
1. Age: If you are not between age of 16-19yrs then it is quite hard to get approval using a BSc program.

2. Previous education qualification: If you already have an undergraduate certificate or a program deemed higher than a Bsc then it becomes extremely difficult to convince a Visa officer of your intentions and motivation to undergo an undergraduate program.

3. Purpose/Finance: Undergraduate programs in Canada are usually 4yrs and that comes with a lot of financial responsibilities. having to shell out an average of $10k every year for four years is not easy. the visa officer again would want to understand why you want to pay so much for an undergrad program.

thanks for ur response what about a masters program ?
No, it doesn't. however, if you really want to enroll for an MSc program you can take some prerequisite courses in your chosen postgraduate program and switch to your preferred program at a later date. let me give you an example; At Thompson Rivers University if you don't qualify for an MBA program you can take any business-related post-baccalaureate program that way you'll be required to take some MBA prerequisite courses( financial accounting, microeconomics, etc) and if you maintain a B-grade average in those courses you can then switch to the MBA program.

You don't have to value your properties. You can simply use your CFO and get an affidavit of asset declaration and you're good to go.

good afternoon,

i am about gathering my documents prior to application. what is the amount that is sufficient for the journey? the amount i need to supply, does it have to cover the two years study or just cost of living for one year?
You're generally required to show proof of funds to cover for one year in Canada. So that means one year tuition, living and travelling expenses. Therefore, you're looking at;

Tuition: ****
Living expenses: $10,000
Traveling expense: $1500

When you're filling the IMM application form you use this same principle

Hi Guys,

Got admission to a school in Canada for Masters. Does anyone know how the study permit application online work especially via the NSE (Nigeria Student Express). I also wanted to ask if the IELTS accademic is required for the NSE application even if the school does not require it.
it's the same requirement as submitting via paper route. Get all your documents scan and make sure each category isn't more than 4mb. You also do not need to sign any Immigration forms you fill. The recommend application to use is Adobe reader.

What about using 2012 certificate, do you think Canada will accept that long gap?
It is not about the gap it is about accounting for all your education and work-related timeline since you graduated from the university. it is called a study gap timeline. you provide all your employment letter, internships, professional development documents when applying to both school and embassy.

Good evening, please is there any implication for not submitting an application before the deadline. Someone advised us to hold on a bit because COVID-19 could be a reason why they may refuse visas this period. We have less than 30 days left
go ahead and apply for your visa. Canada hasn't placed a ban on visa processing however, it can take longer because a lot of embassies are been shut down. the worst scenario as reported is you will be asked to isolate for 2weeks when you arrive.

Thank you response. But can I apply for say, Atlantic Inland Nomination Program, Express entry and Study visa, all three at the same time so that I can increase my chances of getting one?
well applying for two different visa categories is called DUAL INTENT. However, I won't advise you to do that. Canadian immigration encourages applicants applying for temporary and permanent visa categories but from a Nigerian perspective and difficulty in getting visa approvals I believe sticking to one category is advisable going forward.
