Iphiegrace: I believe if you have so many narrations to make then it is better to make use of the online route. that way you can analyse and pin-point essential areas you want the VO to look into and understand. regarding size you can always use pdf compressors to compress down to 4MB or lower which is the online requirement. another essential tip I will give you is when scanning bank statement you don't have to scan everything cover to cover especially if above 20pages. you can take 2pages from each month and scan the last 3 pages and don't forget to attach the reference letter. |

ucham:Hello, You are right judging by your age coming over to Canada via express entry night be a little difficult but not impossible. however, there is a silver lining. my best advice for you is to; 1. Assuming you have a high CGPA from your undergraduate degree and sufficient work experience let us say 5-10yrs you can apply for a SPECIALISED MASTERS PROGRAM. 2. do not apply with your family use them as a prime home tie to justify your apparent return to Nigeria after your study program. 3, when you get to Canada by God's grace after let us say a semester apply for your wife ONLY to come over on visiting visa to spend time with you. 4. when she gets in you then have to decide if you will convert that visiting visa to an open work permit. 5, if you are lucky to scale through remember your wife as an MSc degree so she can easily write English exams in Canada and apply for express entry including you in the application. the process is tedious but if you are motivated, get the right guidance, a little bit of luck and last but not the least Gods blessing then it is possible. i have also included a snapshot of the financial requirement when bringing your family in the long run.

Topsonluv:for masters degree programs, general questions or checklists need to be fulfilled; 1. do you have a high CGPA? 2. Financial ability to sponsor a rather expensive master's degree program in Canada? 3. Ready to meet the demands of a master's degree program in Canada. 4. you ave all your credentials ready( O'level certificate, BSc degree certificate, transcript, available work/education reference available upon request, motivation letter for program choice) 5. lastly, going forward you need to have a plan. it is not enough to just want to ENTER CANADA you need to have a decent knowledge of the province you want to go and the opportunities provided going forward, 1 Like |

Crystalheart: simply put; SOP- Written as a statement of motivation to justify your reason for coming to Canada. it covers your background, education/work experience, why you chose the program/school/, why you chose Canada and you future goals. in most cases also includes a financial breakdown. LOE(Letter of explanation)- this is written in reference to issues you want to point out to the visa officer reviewing your application. this could be in lieu of a recent refusal clause you are trying to justify or explaining a document upload or whatsoever that can be confusing to the VO. It can also be called Statement of clarification, statement of explanation etc.... 1 Like |

Godiloveu:Hello, your CGPA is low for a master's degree program but should be sufficient for a post-graduate diploma or Graduate certificate program. your work experience will also be valuable when you are applying. traveling with your spouse to study in Canada is very feasible and your spouse can get an open work permit while you study. the open work permit(OWP) means your spouse will get a work permit which coincides with the duration of your work permit. a lot of couples here in Canada have their spouses here with them. you go to school he works to pay the bills lol. 2 Likes |

Mapple90: it is rare but not impossible to get a post-graduate program in Canada. matter of fact if you have verifiable work experience you can get an admission. my advice for you will be tp consider post-baccalaureate programs in Canada. what are post-baccalaureate programs? this is a bridge program that enables you to add more credit to your already acquired undergraduate degree. that way you are strengthening your weak undergrad credits while still undergoing a post-graduate program that gives you the required skills to be employment-ready upon graduation in Canada. the only clause here is you might have to take English tests. at least the guy I gave the same advice to had to take extra English courses when he got to Canada. 1 Like 1 Share |

"Public Safety Minister Bill Blair officially announced that Canada would be keeping its borders open for foreign workers and international students. This will apply to any foreign worker who currently has a visa. It is expected that all workers and students entering the country will respect the rule to self-isolate for 14 days." To all the newly approved applicants you have nothing to worry about regarding travelling to canada. although things are really tight down here. people are getting laid off at work and various public places are already closing down so for those anticipating employment you will have to hold off for a while. 6 Likes |

The IRCC has stated that applications will not be rejected for non-compliance at this time. All applications currently in progress at IRCC offices abroad, at case processing centres, and within the Domestic Network will continue to be processed, but may experience delays. In order to prevent further spread of the coronavirus, the IRCC has temporarily closed some of its visa application centres, and others have been reduced to essential staff only. |

The Canadian prime minster declared a TEMPORARY CLOSURE of the Canadian border. Do not allow this affect your current plans to migrate to Canada or apply to schools. This is just a precautionary motive and things will be back in place God willing. Good luck to you all in your various visa processing. 3 Likes |

dyce101:Hello, firstly please try and hide some sensitive information about your self and wife on a public forum. Secondly, considering your stance on a fresh undergraduate program the chances of getting a study visa is usually low. She can always use her bsc degree to apply for a post graduate program. That will improve her chances. You don't want to be refused based on purpose of visit- " Applicant not showing logical motive or assertions that the choice of program displays any sort of career advancement and also not showing accountable timeline of study gaps( especially if you don't declare Bsc) 1 Like |

Lekan45: Sorry about the refusal but this application is embodied with so many fundamental flaws; 1. If you're traveling with a wife and a child you new nothing less than 12million as proof of funds. 2. With the difficulty in obtaining a study visa and the continuous refusal based on home ties it is usually advisable to have your family temporarily in Nigeria to serve that purpose. 3. The job prospect and chances of coming back is also very low. You really need to deal with this loopholes. |

Secondly, put together your education credentials ( Original waec certificate, bsc degree, bsc transcript etc) and try applying for POST GRADUATE PROGRAMS. google your choice of program and you'll definitely find something. From there you can proceed to getting a sponsor and other essential parts of the process. 1 Like |

vinz0499:Sorry about the refusal. The number one issue here is the *Certificate program" you applied for. You should be looking at a post graduate study program. That will show more progress in your studies and give your application a better foundation. Also what did you submit regarding tour employment in Nigeria. Age factor, personal asset & financial status, your ties with your sponsor can also be a possible factor. |

ramobiojo:Hello, I am glad you're seeking clarifications regarding your study visa process. Stating you want to travel with your child and mother in law totally defeats your main intention to go and study on the part of the visa officer. It show's you're using the study route to immigrate to Canada hence, "Purpose of Visit". The advice I'll give you is apply for a program for let's say January 2021 or May2021, by the grace of God your child will be 1yr old by then. You can then proceed with the study visa and when you get to Canada, your mother in law can apply for a visit visa using your status. 2 Likes |

Kamsiroyce:There are various ways that can be presented, but one way you shouldn't present it is saying that it was a compensation for the loss of a family member. The VO will be skeptical and wonder why you want to use that sole amount to sponsor an education in Canada. You can state that; 1. A gift from your brother to sponsor his education. 2. Let the money mature in his account and he can state that it is the funds set aside for his education. 3. Let the amount represent the sale of a very expensive property. |

It baffles me when I see refusals on this platform. Non the less I have made some observations and I notice applicants submit generic documents. For example; Employment documents- As at 2020 it is no longer enough to just submit employment letter, leave letter and payslips. Everyone pretty much submit this documents and it is becoming a circus for this visa officers. How many applicants show proof of dental/medical coverage, pension plans, Tax and most importantly documents to verify that this establishment you claim to work actually exists and is MOST IMPORTANTLY OPERATIONAL. My observation when I ask people to show me the documents they submit when they get refused based on "employment prospects in Nigeria " is simply down to the above explanation. Here in Canada if you're gainfully employed then you have documents to actuality prove that you pay tax, medical coverage etc... So that approach should be applied when submitting employment documents. p.s: this is just an observation based on refusals on employment grounds and lastly always remember to update your LinkedIn and other professional social media accounts( it is called open source search on the part of the VO) 3 Likes 1 Share |
