This lady sef na wa..Since she started dating her husband up till now,its one story to another.I wonder why she cannot learn from toke makinwa. The less the world knows about your marriage, the better for you!Smart actresses like stephanie Linus, dakore akande chioma chukwuka and even mercy johnson have mastered the art of keeping their marital life out of the social media. She needs to take a chill pill.Besides I have not seen the husband professing love and joy everywhere since this whole ish started. Its beginning to seem like he did her the world's biggest favour by getting married to her.HML to her though...

Hello lovelies...its been a while. Now,have you ever been in a "brow gone wrong" situation? If you haven't been in one,you are definitely blessed among women!Ok,if you are wondering what am talking about, let me speak in plain english...lol.Have you ever had a makeup artist or stylist shave off your brows in a scary way.Yea..I have been there and am still recovering. Its amazing how we all think an "expert" can just look at you and tweeze/ shave your brows;and it wil turn out perfect!
The good news is you can shapen your brows yourself and fill it in like a pro by following these simple steps:
1.Find your true eyebrow arch. That is the surest way to get perfect looking brows that suits your facial structure.
2.Once the arch has been located using a pencil, mark the three points ie starting, arch and end of brows with a white pencil for visibility and guidance.
3.The next thing is to use the white pencil to outline the brow shape, like you would normally use a brown pencil to.You do this for the up and down parts in the desired shape you want. This is the holy grail of shaping your brows.Once you have outlined it with a white pencil,it guides you in shaving or tweezing the hairs outside the white line brows with a razor or tweezer.
TIP:You can get an eyebrow stencil kit to draw out the shape of your brows perfectly. Also never take off hairs from the touch. You can remove light hairs just to give it a clean look.
Its also important to brush the hairs upwards to trim off the longer brow hairs. Also, use a light hand in taking out hairs outside the white outline. This is to ensure you don't end up with pencil thin brows. For those whose brows have been 'murdered' by makeup artists or salons..There is still hope.Just grow your brows for a month or two and shapen it using the above tips.Am sure you can't go wrong!
Well..that's basically it!Amazing right?Ever since I discovered the white pencil trick,I no longer have to 'hope and pray' for perfectly shaped brows. All the steps are illustrated below in pictorials.

I don't understand how such a thing will happen and someone will come here and support or defend it. Even with the rude attitude of the seller. undecided

Anyway something has to be done physically so that she can get back her money. Exposing her here will only do very little in helping her achieve her aim of collecting her money.

I advise that she involves the police. After all she has the bank details. They can start from there. If she has money she can bring an action against her in court and sue for damages.

We should learn to be exercising our rights as citizens when we see the opportunity. People shouldn't be taking us for granted.

@peachafrique1 please take drastic actions against this scam of a lady. Stop begging her. It's your money FFS! angry[/color]

pls I'm not scam
I have told her severally here that d goods was seized.besides I did not intend to eat her money.im not rude at all to anybody she insulted me calling me thief.what for?is she d only one I deal online.plss don't judge me cos u are no God. u have said all u know cos u all she wrote.
madam, you have been rude to her.Maybe you should read all your comments on this issue. And yes, though I am not God I have every right to judge you being a lawyer. You are saying you are not a scammer, but the circumstances are saying otherwise.Someone contacted you for a business deal, paid you since december 2014.Today is the 25th of august,no goods,no money! She tried contacting you but all efforts were thwarted. You even blocked her.I have not heard from you two personally but its wise to ask you this;why didn't you call her to explain everything you are passing through calmly to her.Even after that 120k is a lot of money in this economy. It was only natural for her to come on nairaland and call you a scammer. That was the only way she could get your attention and it worked! Please I don't know @peaches from adam but I have a conscience.I have been imagining 'what if thbis happened to me'?There is something called lapse of time..its been 8 months so she has every right to a refund of her money. You telling her to wait till you sell her bale is not right at all.You defaulted by not delivering her goods at the stipulated time. That has voided whatever agreement you had with her.So we are all here telling you to give her her money back..You are a business person.I know you can afford to give her what you owe her even before month end.Don't create a bad image for yourself and your business. The poor lady has tried sef..She needs an award for patience. This life goes beyond the physical.Don't invoke curses on yourself. Why allowing @peaches to cry out to God everyday on this issue.I have seen a man who secretly moved out of a rented apartment at night to avoid paying his outstanding rent of 5 months. As we speak the man's legs are rotting away.Churches he went to said he should go and beg for the landlord's forgiveness. The landlord now is no more in nigeria, was taken abroad by his daughter for holiday.Even when they called him he said he didn't do anything. So,you don't know who anybody is,or what they are capable of.You shouldn't take advantage of the fact that if you choose not to pay her,she can't locate you. There's more to life than being a cause of someone's worry and tears.I have said my piece!

@ annawhite,my annoyance is that jennylov has no good manner of approach..Go and read her comments to the lady!If I was planning to do business with her before, after reading how she replied to everything;I will look elsewhere. No matter wht happened,a customer is always right!otherwise if you insult them over issues like this very soon you will relocate to the village.People do business based on trust and good attitude of the seller.Since you are also a business person, advice her to watch how she handles issues. The lady has enough reasons to be mad.Thank God say no be me sha.I would have gotten a court order to get the details of her account opening to have access to her address to pick her up.Otherwise petition EFCC on account of fraud! From december to now is a very long time to hold on to someone's money and still have the guts to insult her..She dey even dey rake make the lady go cnn.Well, justice is not for the poor.Thank God I know what to do in times like this.

Not supporting jennylove for blocking you out but I'm begging u to let go and accept the goods u paid for

madam, the fact that she is still on nairaland doing business doesn't make her innocent.Nairaland is a faceless forum, with no concrete means of identifying any member. Its not like a bank account where you are asked for a recentutility bill reciept, national I'd card, international passport or other valid means of identification before you can open an account. So even if she doesn't want to settle the lady, she can remain on nairaland till jesus comes and nothing wil happen..The only thing would be loss of her customers!Asides the fact that the lady attached her photo to the proof of payment, what else does she have on @jennylov.Bottomline,she holds all the aces. @peachafrique,you have learnt your lesson I guess.Just be praying fervently, for God to touch her so she can either send u your goods or. Make a refund. If not, there's no way you can trace her o..That's why she can call you daft!

Welcome to the real world, bro. I get upset when undergrads act like they'll be in sch for ever. All the partying and fun fair will end one day, it's as certain as death is to every man. So, y not prepare? Start planning ur life from ur first year in sch. U could even become rich by the time u're graduating.....but no! They'll keep partying and merrying about. It's ok to practice law....ur passion. But it's far better to be able to deep hands in ur pocket and pay the bills conviniently.

I advice u embark on a quest to become rich....legitimately. Then u can even own ur own law firm, if law is ur passion. Take a clue from Tunde Bakare, Femi , and Muiz Banire.

Go and read "The Richest Man In Babylon". That should get u started.

Goodluck.

Btw, I'm a 100L student of Kogi State Uni. And I already got a life plan.
Thank u eh..when u are done with school, and no longer receiving a dime from your family, you would be in a better position to advice me..except you are already independent.

the way new wigs are treated is something I would hope the NBA would address. lip service has been paid to it for far too long. new wigs should be mentored properly to keep the ones with the most potential in the profession. However , it is clear that the law profession is very different in practice now from what was obtainable in the past. please read my recommendations and work as hard as possible. go for what is at hand and start from there.
its sickening o..God will help us.Only a lawyer wil fully understand what new wigs go through.I have a male friend who was in the same law school campus with me.After our call to bar,he set up his own fish farming company in delta and is doing ok.Then I thought he was making a mistake since he is extremely good in advocacy. But now,I totally see why he dumped his wig and gown.

Look dude, my story is exactly the same, I even got a postgraduate from abroad hoping it will boost my employment prospects...nothing! What I can advice is that you should look for a small law firm where you can do attache for a year or two, your NYSC year should be spent in a chambers, don't mind the salary or lack thereof; afterwards, start your own chambers. As we speak am still hustling for work; Law doesn't really matter in Nigeria, it's all past glory things.
my dear,I wil attach myself to a small firm for 2 years and learn.I really want to practice, but d reality on ground is scary.

Sir, the Op is a friend of mine and we are also exactly in the same shoes. Sir, its not a matter of being pessimistic. The seniors in the profession and the NBA in general are really doing nothing to encourage young lawyers.

I stay in Port Harcourt and sir, I can boldly say that majority of the private firms there will pay a new wig between 10- 20k only. Despite this, you'll still been expected to work as a slave for free. A friend of mine who's also a corp lawyer works as the firm's typist, secretary, generator attendant all for 15k. What is most annoying is when the seniors say that we are there to learn, so we shouldn't expect any pay from them.
Its only natural to be discouraged, especially when we start thinking of the time and money spent at the University and Law school, coupled with huge expectations from friends and family.

Its really not fair at all. Personally, i feel all these issues should be raised and addressed next week at the NBA conference.
you will live long..this is what many people don't know. Thanks for pointing it out intelligently.

Listen queenfav, I felt this same way too and really, I must admit, the thought of being unemployed and being used recklessly without good pay is appalling. till a couple of months back, I was in that trouble too. I have one thing I can guarantee, God. I finished with the last set of law school students (Lagos Campus). The result came out recently and thankfully, I made it... That's not all, I submitted my cv in two companies In the state where I reside and now currently work... one of the two companies didn't respond.. these companies lest I forget aren't Law firms but they have a legal unit that handles all their legal matters including follow up of their pending suits, official letters and all sort. I'm yet to serve in fact but somehow, God came through for me.. the invitation for the job interview came, went for it and shortly after, I was called and just like that, I got the job. do not give up just yet, you're more than you think you are, its frustrating I admit but really, you don't really have to start with a law firm to get into something.. believe me dear.. tons of people are out there with the same problem, cast your net again, this time not for one but other kinds of fish too... don't let the demeaning things people on this thread or anywhere else get to you.. for the record queen, I finished law school in may, i'm not in anyway connected to anyone in my workplace but the only one I k now is God. And believe me when I tell you.. God is indeed amazing, if he fixed me, ohh c'mon.. He'll fixya.. cheer up girl wink wink
thanks a lot dear..I know nairaland has a lot of immature and myopic minded people.so,it doesn't bother me.I just created this post to pour out my mind..I don't even enjoy telling people how I feel, cos they will just end up making me feel worse than I already do.I am praying and I know God will see me through.

Hey there,
I totally understand the way you feel right now. Its the same way I felt about 9 years back after youth service. my first salary was 5, 000 in Ibadan and I remembered thinking to myself "what have I gotten myself into?". now know this- the law profession is a great profession but it is a profession for hardworking people. the fact is the Nigerian economy is taking its own toll on the practice abilities of colleagues like yourself to sustain themselves. The seniors in the profession do not help the matter too. this is where you have to be creative and daring. for instance in my case I went to become a state counsel and later travelled out for my masters in the US. today I am an international tax counsel with knowledge in economics and finance. be creative ma'am. take whatever comes your way for now and get into the system. from there, drop the lawyer stiffness and talk to people and increase your social contacts . the connections will come like a trickle but nurture them till they become a flood. do what comes to you diligently and learn as much as you can. you have a unique knowledge not many people have . use it . I remember while I was a lawyer working for Oyo State, I volunteered for the difficult land cases. this made me know lots of people then in Ibadan. I went on radio to talk about new areas such as Alternative Dispute Resolution. the law certificate is just a mere ticket to the party. what you make of it is entirely up to you. I managed properties, sold land, marketed same , drafted agreements, sold diesel, formed companies for people, did divorces, evicted nonpaying tenants and so many more things I could not count. All legal and honorable. Get going and roll up your sleeves ma'am. I wish you all the best. Let me know how you are doing .
thanks a lot..at least someone underdtands what I am going thru.many are here screaming mindset up and down. When you spend over a million naira in law school, and close to 200k for call to bar expenses;only for most firms to be payin10-15k,u will understand fully that it goes beyond mindset. The seniors are not helping. My friend works with an AG,d man makes millions yet cannot even pay the guy 5k.his reason being that the govt pays him 19800.Wheras my friend works like a horse to keep the firm running.

im a lawyer for over 2 decades and what i can telll you right now is you are the one with a wrong mindset and a wrong approach to the market. You don't start any race discouraged .My best advice for you right now is to seek scholarship and do masters and possibly phd and get yourself started on a ladder that leads to professorship or perm sec.

You sounds surely as someone who is not prepared for the tough career of a legal practitioner in Nigeria which is even getting tougher by the seconds.Better still you can join customs or police or immigration or politics.

I will do one thing for you .send your cv .we can arrange a probation for you for a limited time in chambers but believe me if you cant add value, the probation will not be extended and you will certainly get more far in excess of 15000 during the probabtion and more than enough empowerment to finetuned your career direction.supply your gsm here and i will give you the email.

stop being pessimistic, start praying and never stop praying and hoping and working, even 2000 failed applications doesn't mean all the applications will always fail.you owe apologies to the profession because we dont know of any firm paying 15k monthly.
please make your findings.there are firms that even pay 5000 naira.other lawyers in the house can testify. In warri, the highest paying firm is t.j okpoko and the salary is 40000.

Queenfav, be strong. It's always darkest before dawn. You are in that darkest time, soon you will see the light. It may sound like mere words but trust me, it's the truth.

I've been there and I know exactly how you feel. At some point, I was even considering going to sell ponmo, tomato and crayfish in a table in the market since I wouldn't even be able to afford rent. It was that bad. I have some parts of my down time period detailed somewhere in my posts on this forum and I leave it there as encouragement to any who may need to be encouraged. I felt awful then.

Like you, I was offered a job that would pay N17k, I took it. And funny as it may sound, I started climbing gradually but steadily. Today, I look back and laugh at that time/period. But then, it had prepared me in no small way into the wonderful person I have become. So, if the 15k can solve one of your many needs, please take it. It worked for me, it will work for you. It will build you and make you respect values and people more. Cry when you feel like it but don't have a pity party, get up, dust yourself and go get your hands dirty. It will pay off in "the fulness of time"

I wish you the very best.

CareerDid I Make A Mistake Studying Law? by queenfav(op): 8:42am On Aug 18, 2015
I woke up this morning with a lot on my mind. So much that I didn't know when tears started rolling down my cheeks.

I am getting frustrated. To think I did everything right in school to ensure I left with with a 2:1 grade. I ask myself ,where did I go wrong? To make matters worse, my family members think all is well since I am a "barrister".

I am slowly beginning to regret my decision to be a lawyer. Though I am still serving as a batch C corps member,I get scared. So scared that I may have to take up work in a firm that pays 15000 naira. God knows I have tried. I have sent out more than 200 applications, yet nothing!

Which job recuitment site have I not signed up with? This was not what I envisaged for my career when I was being called to bar. Even in the midst of the mass failure of my set, I bagged a 2.2 from law school; still nothing to show for it. I know people from my university that graduated with 3rd class now working with top law firms.

Well, I have been told to stop wasting my time by applying for associate jobs on the websites of law firms. The reason being that they rarely employ lawyers anonymously. It is mostly through recommendation or connection. God knows I really want to practice law, but the job is not forthcoming. I have my rent to pay, bills to take care of and cannot survive on 15k a month after 6 years of going to school. I am open to suggestions anyways.

Someone even adviced I start a business or learn a trade! Yes, that's how sad it is. Many may feel am overreacting. All fingers are not equal. Family members and friends I thought would be able to help out are now giving me the cold shoulder. I have cause to be worried since I am solely responsible for myself now. I can't even bear the thought of going back home to depend on my parents. If I had known it was going to be this way, I wouldn't have wasted my time and resources becoming a lawyer. What's the point? I am still looking and bringing myself to apply to firms.

After december, I may have to think of something else to do.

Am reading "dappled things" by kingsley iweka..The story is captivating and makes a good read. The author is a young one,but definitely knows his onions.@dearpreye,keep up the good work here..I find your love for reading very commendable.I love good books, both fiction and non fiction.A day without reading feels so wasted.
