‘I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody’. - Buhari.

The above statement is the greatest lie in modern day Nigerian political system. Not only is it hypocritical in light of his actions towards the benue state killings, it is just a flat out lie from the pit of hell.
So you agree Jonathan was a shameless hypocrite and liar from the pit of hell for swearing on oath to protect and defend the lives and property of EVERY Nigerian, yet allowing Benue Killings to occur during his tenure, and grossly incompetent for failing to stop the herdsmen killings?

Why was he biased and why take sides against the Benue people by allowing the herdsmen continue their rampage until he was kicked out?

I don't see any hypocrisy in calling for an end to killings.

The real hypocrisy is from our president who takes sides. Everyone clearly sees that he supports the herdsmen.
Illogical post.

The herdsmen killings occurred throughout Jonathan's 5 year administration and he failed to tackle or stop the murderers.

That also means he took sides against the Benue people and he clearly supported the herdsmen.

Not so?

Like seriously.

It's another 8 years of Northern presidency and the mans definition of restructuring is on point.

Buhari is getting old and the cabal around him are frustrating the fight against corruption.

My only real grouse with Buhari is his governments attitude to the herdsmen killings. Atiku appears to be less extremist.

If it's corruption that majority of Nigerians want to vote for, then now is the best time to position oneself to be a beneficiary.

The icing on the cake is to see the two-faced OBJ reduced to nothingness once Atiku wins.

Still watching though with cards held close to chest.

Technical inadequacy, criminality and restiveness (caused by an overbloated and misplaced sense of entitlement) are the main problems with eastern ports, and why they're being dumped while new ports are springing up all over the place.

Yet one genius up there was still advocating for lazy criminal bunkering militants to be engaged in the protection of foreign vessels. With such reasoning those ports would continue to suffer 50 years from now.

fulanimafia:
Jelani Aliyu, hails from Sokoto State, Nigeria and is General Motors Lead Exterior Designer and the designer of the Chevy Volt. General Motors is the world’s largest automobile maker. The car has been described as an American Revolution and one of the hottest concepts in the design line.

Jelani was born in 1966 in Kaduna, to Alhaji Aliya Haidara and Sharifiya Hauwa’u Aliyu. The fifth of seven children, theirs is a very close-knit family. For him, it was an amazing experience growing up in Sokoto, surrounded by the rich culture of the people and the state and enjoying excellent access to the latest and international information.

From 1971 to 1978, he attended Capital School, Sokoto, an excellent school and this served as a very productive educational experience for him. In 1978, he gained admission into Federal Government College, Sokoto, from where he graduated in 1983 with an award as the best in Technical Drawing.

Jelani was privileged to meet and make many good friends from all parts of the country and beyond during this time. He had tremendous encouragement and mentoring from his family and friends and his creative art develop the ed. He drew a lot, designed his own cars, and even built scale models of them, complete with exteriors and interiors.

After FGC, he got admission into the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria to study Architecture, but soon discovered that curriculum did not support his future vision and plans.

After considering other institutions in Nigeria and their academic programmes, he concluded that only one of them had the study criteria that would support his future goals. The institution in which he chose to pursue his education was one he felt offered the best creative programmes and had experience that would give him the best foundation required to study Automobile Design abroad. That institution was the Birnin Kebbi Polytechnic. He was there from 1986 to 1988 and earned an associate degree in Architecture, with an award as Best All-Round Student. While there, he did some in depth research into home design and construction, looking into materials and structures that would be most compatible with our environment and climate; buildings that would stay cool in a hot environment with little, or no artificial electrical air conditioning. Upon graduation from the polytechnic, Jelani worked for a while at the Ministry of Works, Sokoto.

In 1990, Aliyu moved to Detroit, Michigan to enroll at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit under a Sokoto Schorlarship board sponsorship. Having always wanted to study Automobile Design, this was a dream come true and an absolutely fascinating experience. The course was very practical and emphasis was put on creativity and the development of new designs to provide solutions . He received his degree in automobile design in 1994.

In 1994 he began his career with the design staff of General Motors. He worked on the Buick Rendezvous and was the lead exterior designer of the Pontiac G6. He also worked on the Astra with General Motors’ Opel Division.

With his brilliant work on the design of the Chevrolet Volt, which was unveiled in 2007, Jelani Aliyu is considered by many to be the super star of the General Motors renaissance.

Go sleep and stop trying to bring the usual division between Southerners.
The only way to bridge the division among southerners is to:

1) Get over the trauma of the civil war and stop blaming the Yoruba's for performing their patriotic duty.
2) Stop attacking the SW for voting Jonathan out, it only breeds disharmony.
3) Stop celebrating the herdsmen attacks in the SW, it is a collective menace which affects everyone from Ibadan to Enugu to Zamfara.
4) Respect your hosts when in their land, stop the disrespectful and foolish tagging of Lagos as no man's land.
5) Learn from the Hausa's and over 200 other ethnic groups peacefully resident in Lagos and other parts of the SW, learn to not incite or antagonize your hosts unnecessarily e.g.mockery over Illorin.

These are constructive ways to foster southern unity, and not by instigating hatred for another region of the country.

It is quite apparent that the north is missing out in so many areas and all these need to be addressed and corrected.
What I offered was a correction to the OP's ignorant statement that Lamido Sanusi's sphere of recognition was limited to Nigeria; I was never looking to submit any achievers because I knew the true motive for the thread which the creator has admitted to you - which is to foster southern unity by attempting to showcase the north's assumed inadequacies, lol. It is quite sad that you're also unaware of northern exploits in architecture, the arts, business, music etc. Please use google if you're genuinely curious. I never knew this was a d1ck-measuring contest between the north and south, I thought you were just curious. Lol.

There are scores of northern achievers like you've started seeing on this thread, google to find out more even though its obvious your intentions are far from genuine.

Besides if d1ck-measuring is the case, Dangote alone trumps whoever or whatever you want to present if we are to measure international recognition. No wonder you didn't mention military might because you are aware of Nigeria's international recognition with regards to international peacekeeping, not to mention it's success at defeating Biafran fighters alongside its international allies during its civil war.

A final word of advice: You cannot develop pretentious southern unity on the basis of hatred for the North. Hatred never begets love.

Since the legislation making Yoruba a lingua franca in Lagos and requirement for entry into state owned schools which effectively destroyed and ended the "no man's land" debate, the ipob trolls have resorted to opening unnecessary threads with sinister motives as rightly observed by another poster here. Feeding the OP with the dozens of northern achievers (which he will never acknowledge by the way) will simply perpetuate the nuisance. Dangote didn't make his money on fair competition rather he was allowed to monopolize cement and sugar and other necessary imports

At the detriment of other business men!

Dangote is the reason sugar and salt are expensive for the common man

So don't mention Dangote he is just an example of how the Nigerian govt sabotage the economy to favour a northern!
fabre4:
Ever heard of the word monopoly? And its effect on smaller rival businesses... I don't have time to start going into details but ask other cement producers what they go through while dangote is given a free hand by the government and incase you dont know dangote used to make his cement scarce in those days just to increase the price...

As for the refinery i cant say much cause its not yet running and how you see that as an achievement I don't know. I dont talk based on sentiment, I talk based on experience and facts... Just know that for you to be the richest man for years without competition even after losses, then you ain't playing a fair game
A lot of you just throw the word "monopoly" around without properly understanding what it entails.

Every businessman operating in a capitalist economy aspires to gain as much market share as possible so as to maximize returns, in order to do this, he deploys various strategies all derived from his business environment. One of the tools used is a PESTEL analysis which analyses the political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal environments to see where one can gain competitive advantages which they can use to achieve his objective of maximizing market share.

A monopoly would arise from the effective deployment of such strategies developed, in a market where other players are unable to compete due to the lack or insufficiency of the identified advantage - for example - Dangote aligns with practically any government in power so that he gains competitive advantages in the political environment, which come in the form of favorable policies, waivers, concessions etc. which enable him to dominate the industry/market to the point that other players are relegated or forced out. This is not in anyway wrong in the world of business, it is capitalism at its finest and it is the same across the world. Microsoft were so savage in this sense that anti-trust laws had to be enacted to protect other software companies. If you think Dangote's advantages are due to his ethnicity and not sheer brilliance and tact, how come he is replicating his success in several other African countries with various governments?

Therefore neither Dangote nor the government is doing anything wrong because what they have is a mutually beneficial strategic relationship. Dangote is simply a brilliant businessman that consistently outplays his competition.

However before recapitalisation which made most banks go public, Bank of the North (now Unity bank), Habib Bank (Keystone Bank) and Gamji Bank are some of the banks indigenous to the north. Two days ago he asked what plan the North had for Nigeria (assuming it had none), by the time he was provided with a bulletproof roadmap to progress (despite failing to acknowledge the failures that southern leadership recorded in the 14 years it was in power since 1999), he ran away from the thread without acknowledging the roadmap, only to cough up this new one.

To confirm his prejudice, he has now asked northerners not to mention Aliko Dangote who is Nigerias gift to the black race and one of its biggest exports and sources of pride - a Fulani entrepreneur par excellence and richest black man alive, greatest industrialist in Africa that develops countries with solid infrastructure instead of powdered drugs. His insistence on excluding Dangote clearly proves that he is not genuinely curious but just seeks an avenue to bash the north in order to air out his frustration.

Even though we have inventors like Jelani Aliyu (Chevrolet Volt electric car), world leaders like Amina Mohammed (Dep. UN Secretary General), the world renowned colourful Hausa architecture among others, indulging the OP further will only reinforce his bigoted tendency to open another senseless prejudiced thread on his crazed obsession - the great people of northern Nigeria.
