No where in the world will Chief of Army Staff of the country carry out a coup when he is in charge.


Ironsi was the Chief of Army Staff and in charge of Nigerian Army so there was no need for him to carry out coup. He and Ojukwu were against the coup and played roles in foiling the coup.



But Ironsi made mistakes of not executing the coupists but rather jailed them. That made the North to believe he was the chief coupist of that unfortunate coup.

After their Labour Party disappointing outing in Ekiti elections, they were quick to label Ekiti voters poor, impoverished and stupid.
