Surely, these bastards will stop at nothing to ensure Islam is consistently brought to disrepute. The hand writings are clear on the wall for people of intellect to see. Starting from Terrorism (Boko Haram) which is now failing them, now Kidnapping in the name of Islam is the new trend. I don't believe in any of their proclamations above one bit, it all looks like some lies to hoodwink the gullible. I mean, even common sense should guide someone against forcing people to go against their will, not to talk of what Islam itself teaches. A Lot of things are fishy but God sees all and surely, He will protect and guard what is His (Islam).

I have no problem with the following words u used on me; foolishly, selfishly... They give an insight on how you arrive at conclusions and are a test on the rationality of your perception. However the last one, "over ambitious" made me wonder if you realise that everything we take for granted today was once seen as an over ambitious step. Over ambitious only exist in dictionaries of folks who are grand patrons of conformity. I believe I live a very normal life(maybe just a bit more rational), at least when compared to my circle of fwends and those I aspire to surpass. If indeed am crazy, am at least 100% genuinely me.. I wouldnt be able to return to my maker in peace if I let conformity adulterate me.

Anyways thanks for the mention, "wonderfully crazy" even with pun intended feels like a compliment and I appreciate it.

C'mon buddy, everything I said up there was meant to be a compliment. Yes, plus even the "foolishly" and "selfishly" part too. "Foolish" is an adjacent I normally use to address some of my "crazy" friends (and myself too sometimes). Cos for real, in this era where folks prefer to comfortably comform to societal norms, who wouldn't think someone who is crazy enough to dare the odds is "foolish"? All those adjectives are what most regular people use to qualify any "crazy" individual that chooses to thread their own path rather than bend to what the society says.
Read deeper into my statements and see what my actuall points are.

Cheers! smiley

This is one of the reasons why I have been single for a while. If you are ambitious, you would know how much of a stumbling block marriage and serious relationships can be. I cherish the freedom of being able to leave for space the very next second, if thats the next goal to conquer.

I have no advice for this couple cos either ways one person would get hurt.. If the husby compromises he would see his wife as "his enemy of progress", if the wife does she would see the husby as the reason why she never amounted to anything more than his wife.

My advice is rather to young men like myself and ladies. Love is a great feeling but hey it isnt as important as compatibility. Know your partner well, be sure you fit into each others plans well. To yall accusing the husby of being selfish, there is nothing wrong with what the husby is doing, the prob is his kind of wife is equally ambitious. some ladies I know would give an arm and a foot to shuttle from city to city with a husby that is successful, some wouldnt mind being full time housewives so long as the money is rolling in. His only sin is not choosing a wife that fits into his plans... The wife also has every right to be ambitious, I love ambitious women... But she too never reached any agreement on what next after wedding.

For guys especially, make sure u achieve the fundamental goals first before talking about marriage. If at all you are in a hurry to wed a gal cos u love her too much to risk losing her, endeavour to point out to her your plans. I have fallen in love countless times but when I look at my plans and see the person wouldnt fit in or the love of my life came prematurely, my brain overrules my heart. Fear not, the heart would always find someone else to love, that is its specialty.

grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

As foolishly, selfishly and overly ambitious as this guy sounds, the last part of his opinion is unbelievably hilarious and....well, maybe true shocked shocked shocked (another pointer to how wonderfully crazy he is)

Phones / Re: Whatsapp Will Be Discontinued On Blackberry And Nokia Operating System By 2016 by rabol(m): 8:29pm On Feb 28, 2016
TechPill:
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but i just have to inform you that WhatsApp- A popular messaging app, will be discontinue on Blackberry and Nokia operating system this year 2016 ending to be precised.

Earlier this week Whatsapp celebrated its 7th years anniversary with its 1 Billion Active users, instead to break a bad news on such a good day, the team decided to wait till on Friday when they announced that: the app will soon be discontinued on BlackBerry and Nokia devices running those company's operating systems.

Yes! that include the Blackberry 10 device, Though the new Android-powered Blackberry Priv slider phone might probaly survive this heat because it was built with Android OS.

According to WhatApp Announcement

The Nokia S40 discontinuation will deeply affect developing countries like Nigeria because most people still uses old Nokia phone. The like of Nokia asha 200 and 203, Nokia 6100, 6200, Nokia c2 and c3 just to mention a few. I know most of us still love our old nokia phones. WhatsApp suggests "upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone" if you want to keep on using the service — if not, you'll need to find another messaging service by the end of the year before the service got discontinued.

So do you think this is necessary? please use the comment box

Yeah, we understand the pain. BlackBerry and some of these old Nokia phones do not give room for security breach like these android phones do. It's obvious they are trying to enforce compliance. It is all good though. There are other mobile messaging apps much better than whatsapp anyway, albeit less popular. We, the blackberry lovers will opt for those.
Thank you undecided.

Hey guys!

I came across this video just now and decided to share. I just find it somehow inspiring, plus it awoke a kind of interest in me. Her name is Khafi Kareem, a Nigerian born and raised in the UK. I am not trying to exaggerate her abilities but i think the pace at which she grasped some of the languages is incredible. I mean, imagine having a language as one of your courses in school and then becoming this fluent in it after just a year.

Anyway, the main reason for posting this is to encourage others (like me) who might be interested in mastering languages too. Moreso, an interest group could also be created where folks interested in a particular language meet and learn while those who are experts already in such language serve as a kind of guide/tutor.

Agubushmenyo:
We have always criticized the female folks without trying to know the root of the problem. Here are some 8 Lesson I wish we guys know about girls. Read on and be Wiser in dealing with them.

#1. If she flinches when you try to put your arm around her…someone else’s hands once wasn’t too sweet.
#2. If she's full of questions, someone else lied to her in the past. Be patient with her.
#3. If she's secretive and doesn’t tell you things outright, someone else once betrayed her trust. Prove to her you wont do the same.
#4. If she suspects every move you make, someone else wasn't transparent with her. Be different. Be transparent with her
#5. If she's cold, distant and hostile with people she's just meeting and even sometimes with you, chances are someone ABUSED her in the past. She's a victim of abuse like RAPE. She's still hurting.
#6. If she’s clingy and possessive, someone once hurt and dumped her. She's scared of being abandoned again. Assure her of your love.
#7. If she's playing hard to get, someone in her past once treated her like a doormat. She just want to be sure you are real.
#8. If she's sneaks and wants to know all about you, someone wasn't straight with her. Assure her you are different. Talk to her.
LESSON GUYS: Behind every difficult and complicated girl who Is scared to love freely is a girl who's is tired of being hurt and broken. Be patient with her.

Absolute Bullshit!

Literature / Re: My Flash/short Stories Collection by rabol(m): 3:21pm On Jan 10, 2016
Enoquin:
And so here I was, alone. I was lucky this happened during the holidays, I got in touch with an uncle and escaped there. My uncle had a separate guest house so I didn’t have to put up with appearances. I had been here for two days and rarely ate the food that was brought. I just wanted to be alone to grieve for what I had lost. My phones were off and except for the maid, no one came to my door.
I wished someone would but was glad no one did. Had I been selfish? How was Ralph doing? Did he grieve for me as I did for him?
The knock was light at first. I pretended not to hear. Then it increased slightly till I couldn’t ignore it, standing, I approached the door cautiously.
“Who is it?”
“It’s me Nami,”
I pasted a fake smile and opened the door. My uncle’s wife swept in, her yellow gown lightening the room, her fragrance theraupatic; she didn’t return the smile or pretended not to see it.
Scanning the room and raising an eyebrow at how disheveled the room was, she turned to me. I sure looked dreadful. We weren’t close but I heard she was a pleasant but blunt woman.
“You don’t dress the room neither do you allow the maid in to dress the room Nami, is there a reason why your sadness should interfere with cleanliness?”
I opened my mouth but no words came out. That was mean, whoever said this woman was nice needed their head screwed on correctly.
“Please try and tidy up, look at that food tray…”
“Aunty, please what do you want?” I didn’t need this especially not from someone I barely knew.
“I need you to stop hiding in here like something is wrong with you. Do you know how many times your mother and brother has called because they couldn’t get to you?”
In my grief, I had forgotten how worried, my mother and brother would be.
“What did they say?”
“You would have to switch on your phone to find out.”
Moving to the bed, she pushed the rumpled bed sheets to one side and sat down and then with a smile, patted the space beside her. The change was so sudden that I found myself beside her.
“Nami, you have been terribly wrong,”
Confused, I looked at her. What did she mean? What was I wrong about?
“You have been scared to live that you are merely existing. Now it is terribly wrong to run from a challenge. Tell me, what do you want from this life?”
“I…I…want…would like to be free…free to live”
“So, what’s holding you back? Why do you choose to live in fear?”
“Aunty, you do not understand, these visions I have…”
“Nami,” she interrupted; “your vision is just that, a vision; what you do afterwards is more of a determinant than your vision.”
“Aunty, how would I have stopped my father’s death or my sister or how can I hold back time for Ralph?”
“You could not and you cannot but you should also not cower in fear waiting till whatever is bound to happen does. Regardless of your visions, some of us have a limited time on earth but we strive to make the most of it by…”
“Aunty, what do you mean by some of us? Are you or uncle ill?”
“Well dear, since you came in; you havent been to see the children; you would have seen that Tina is near death’s door.”
“Tina? When? What is wrong with her?”
“Tina has leukemia, she has less than three months left and want to spend it at home. I never thought this would happen to me ever or never knew how we were going to carry on but we do. We laugh with her, try new things and don’t think about that day.”
“I am so sorry but your situation was thrust upon you, mine is affected by the decision I make.”
“So, you are saying; Ralph would live if you do not marry him? And what if he is destined to die young regardless of whether he marries you or not? Would you carry on knowing you could have shared more time with him? If you had Tina as a child, would you have been in tears everyday or would you have tried to make her remaining time as pleasant as could be?”
I didn’t need to ask how she knew the story, Ralph must have told everyone who cared to listen. Everyone kept saying the same thing, that I needed to live and not be in fear always.
“Well, you really have to tidy this room. We have guests coming over.”
This woman was really a confusionist.
She looked at her watch and stood. “Tina and I are going shopping for something I forgot to pick yesterday. You should come in and say hello to her and the rest of the children when we are back.”
“Thank you aunty, I am so sorry.”
“It’s alright, see you later” And with that she swept out of the room. Yes, she was right but before I switched on my phone, I needed to tackle the mess in the room.
My spirits had somewhat lifted.
45 minutes later, I was done. I even used the perfume after my bath and nearly put on yellow till I refrained and picked another colour.
The knock came and I glanced at the time. It was nearly five, time for dinner. I needed to tell the maid, I would be joining everyone this evening.
Smiling, I opened the door and there he was, his hand lifted to knock again. I know I should have asked what he was doing here and how he knew I was here and all that but I couldn’t. I was already in his arms sobbing.
“Ralph, I am so sorry.”
“And here I thought you didn’t miss me as I did you,” he said patting my hair just the way I liked it and making that hushing sound that made me a baby all over again.
I loved this man terribly. I loved him and damn whatever was going to take him away from me, I will love him, be his wife and the mother of our children till then. I lifted my head to kiss him and just then saw my brother who had just come round the bend grinning. I turned away shyly and laughed.

THE END

Dedicated to Teamplayey

I know this might be coming in late and all but I just got to make this comment.

Babe, you are an unapologetic realist, just like you described yourself in one of your comments earlier.

Even when your story is having a happy ending, it still has that little tone of life's reality and unpredictable suspense hanging around it. Truth is, "happy ever after" is but an illusion. Life is all about moments. A combination of both happy and sad moments here and there. It is what you make out of it that matters. So, double kudos to you my lady. One for your writing prowess and the other, for being an unrepentant realist. And yes, I can actually relate with this particular story of yours. I would not like to dwell much on how it relates with me though, not everything is good for public consumption.

So, thank you once again. smiley
