The Police in Lagos has arrested a 45-year-old housewife, Hadijat Kabir for allegedly arranging her own kidnap in order to defraud her husband of N15million. Muraino Kabir of Governor’s Road, Ikotun reported at the Ikotun Police Station that his wife and 18-year-old daughter, Hamidat Kemi, who is of unsound mind were, kidnapped on their way to Psychiatric Hospital, Oshodi, Lagos.

The kidnappers reportedly demanded the sum of N15m before the hostages would be released.

An investigation by the Lagos State Police Command revealed that the kidnappers were making their demands from a community in Ogun State, called Ado-Odo, Ado –Odo Ota LGA.

The operatives of the squad mobilised to the area and busted the camp of the kidnappers.

Following the operation, the hostages were rescued while some of the suspects were arrested. Others are still at large.

During the course of interrogation, Hadijat Kabir confessed that she planned her kidnap with the suspects to defraud her husband

The case is still under investigation with a view to arresting the fleeing suspects.

According to reports the woman Stabbed her husband last night, After she saw him talking to another lady.
The Woman who is said to be hot tempered, allegedly dragged him home, and started fighting with him, Before stabbing him on the chest multiple times.

The police on Wednesday said they had arrested 19 suspected cultists in Imeke, a suburb of Badagry, Lagos State. SP Samson Akhiromen, the Divisional Police Officer in Badagry, disclosed this when while speaking to NAN.

Akhiromen said that the suspects were arrested at about 11 p.m. on July 27 when the suspects were having a meeting to carry out their nefarious activities and initiation. According to him, a reliable source from the city gave useful information that led to the arrest of 18 males and one female suspects.

The DPO, who led the team of policemen that arrested the suspects, said they were caught with two machetes, nine mobile phones and charms.

“We got information from a reliable member of the public that some cult members were meeting in Imeke area.

“I led a team of officers under my division to the place and 19 suspected cultists were arrested.

“Although they denied being cult members, they said they were traditional worshippers known as `Ogun worshippers’.
“But their members who had renounced membership recently identified them and they were subsequently arrested immediately,” he said.
Akhiromen said that the case had been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, for further investigation.

Toyin Saraki Wife of the Senate President has reacted to the statement by the Nigeria Police force that the Officers who took over their Abuja Resident was to protect her.

In a statement The Police said that there was no authorised deployment of Police personnel to besiege the residence of the Senate President or his deputy as reported in the media. That The police personnel seen in pictures in the media were those in the convoy of the Senate President and others attached to him, who gives them maximum security.

However in reaction Mrs. Toyin posted on her Twitter this morning saying:

Many Nigerians have been left stranded after Fraudsters scammed them by selling them football World Cup fan passes to travel to Russia,
leaving many stranded and penniless, victims and anti-trafficking campaigners say.

Some Nigerians told AFP they used the official Fan IDs to come to Russia with the promise of finding work or even playing professional football themselves.

Others said they came to watch World Cup matches but got stranded when their return plane tickets were canceled by bogus travel agencies that booked them.

Ismail Olamilekan, 21, and his brother Sodiq, 25, said they paid N250,000 (600 euros, $700) each to a man in Lagos for their Fan IDs.

“The man told us that with the Fan ID we could get a job and stay here,” Ismail told AFP at a hostel on the outskirts of Moscow.

“But when we got here we discovered that it was a fraud, that he had just collected the money and lied to us.”
The plastic-coated passes issued by the Russian government enable foreign fans with match tickets to enter the country without a visa during the World Cup — but they expire before the end of July.


It was not clear how the bogus agents obtained the Fan IDs that they sold.

A FIFA spokesman stressed that the Fan IDs system was implemented by the Russian communications ministry.

FIFA “continues to make efforts to identify and curb unauthorised ticket sales,” he added.

The Olamilekan brothers spent about a thousand dollars each for their plane fare to Moscow, on top of what they paid separately to the agent.

“In Nigeria I play football. He told me that if I started working I can also start a (football) career in Russia,” Ismail Olamilekan said.

A fellow Muslim was allowing the brothers to sleep in his hostel until their return flight on July 22.

Other Nigerians, however, found themselves stranded in Russia after fraudulent “agents” who booked return flights for them then cancelled the bookings to get a refund.

One group of about a dozen Nigerians spent days sleeping at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport.
