Dang! You guys pulled if off with this thread ![]() |

How far? Have you told her? ![]() |
redsky1:It's all about living in denial ![]() |
We've only been talking about power problems. We haven't even scratched the surface of the problems and people are already feeling suicidal. ![]() |
Afam:You really wanna get down with the insults? Let this be the last time please. Inverter or no inverter at least you have light and that's why you don't see the problem with PHCN. How many people can afford an inverter? Why should we use inverters in Nigeria in 2009? And we supply power to Chad? Why have you failed to see the problem we are discussing here? Why should you spend money on an inverter when you should have steady power supply from PHCN? What about those that don't even have power cables and transformers in their area? Those that can't afford candles let alone inverters? Why do you think that the Nigerian government is doing the right thing just because you can afford an inverter? You seem to care only for yourself, right? More than 50% of the population live below the poverty line which is $1 and you expect me to take you serious? Things are bad in that country. It's nothing personal against the country but reality. It's bad enough that the government is a joke but to even try to deny that is rather embarrassing. |

Afam:This was what you stated before. "No $16 billion was used, the total amount of money spent was less than $5 billion" You're the one who told us how much that was used and now you're trying to change the colour. Who is the one lying here? Afam:Well, you claim to have steady light in your office and wherever and trying to use that as proof of steady light in Lagos. Sorry to burst your bubble. Forget all this liar liar defense. It's too childish. Afam:So lame. Jealous of people in Nigeria? I can easily go back to Nigeria so why should I be jealous? Quit all this embarrassing defense tactics. Again, you guys back home say worse things about Nigeria and that's the truth. Deal with it.Afam:Where did I insult Nigerians? Please don't push this weak assumptions beyond necessary. |

This colour is better than that red. But I prefer her with long hair/weave/wig ![]() |
otukpo:How do you know this? |
paddy_lo:Me, frustrated? Don't go that far I beg you. You shouldn't have mentioned your qualifications 'cause it doesn't do you justice. Just keep that info to yourself and save your face. Just listen to yourself! For all I care Nigeria can have the largest economy in the world but when they have little or no proof of that then the whole achievement is laughable. I never mentioned money or the economy was a problem in Nigeria. Yes we're rich but the reckless people in Government anxiously loot everything leaving the masses forever hoping for a change. So, now we don't need the government again? Is that what you're saying? Why don't they allow private investors to take over the country? Will their wickedness and greed allow them? And you say the problem is not the government. They've been talking about Privatizing PHCN. We're still waiting. Dude, just get on with your Jamaican friends and chill. I don't hate Nigeria, yea. The fact that we criticise the bad government doesn't mean we hate Nigeria. Who told you that Nigerians don't have their flag in their cars? Who told you that people don't spot us when they see us? Just drop this cheap comparison please. I have every right to complain about a country that is capable of giving it's citizens a decent life but has deliberately denied them this right because of greed and wickedness. You can't tell me otherwise, sorry. Sit there and wait for my suggestions. |

Come on guys, we still have our families and friends back home. Must I know the very victim of a situation before I know it's true? How do you know Obama is the American president? How do you know when Yaradua is in Germany and Saudi? You travel with him? Listen, don't even push it |
Who do Nigerian men use their index finger to scrape food in their mouths? Now that is horrible compared to having big tummy ![]() By the way, I never knew sex and BJ contributed to big tummies. Intelligent poofs ![]() |
Hang on a minute. . . . Where did you guys read that Essien didn't know she had a child? The fact that she kept the baby from her fans doesn't mean she denies having a daughter. If she doesn't want to be open about it then y'all leave her alone. You want her to come and tell you the father of the baby, how they met and broke up and how horrible life was so that tmrw y'all will start another thread bashing her for being "irresponsible" and "cheap" and only God knows what you guys will spew. Leave her and her private affairs. Who cares if she breaks up with Essien? Because it's Essien don't mean they must be together. Y'all get it straight, yea. |

Quite a lot has been said. Now Afam, I am not one to be deceived about the state of Nigeria. You claim I am ignorant and argue blindly but I think you should check your facts before calling someone ignorant. The money that was allocated to the power sector was $16 billion. If you say that only $5 billion was used then you probably have to figure out what happened to the remaining $11 billion. I will not help you on that one. You talk about steady light in Lagos but was it not recently that some five thousand Lagos residents went protesting the epileptic power supply in Lagos and all over the country? In Kano alone over 400 industries out of 500 have been closed down leaving over 3 million people jobless in the last 15 years. What can you say about that? Is it not in Nigeria that doctors perform operations on patients with torchlight? The list is endless. The Government hopes to achieve some 6000 megawatts by the end of next month for a population of over 150 million. How much has been achieved? I really don't understand you people on this Nigerian matter. This is not an attack on the masses but on the Government. When we say that the country is bad we don't mean that the masses are bad but the leaders. Why should we all be silent about devastating problems the country is facing? Why do we have leaders? You people are talking as if individuals abroad have to come back and supernaturally change Nigeria. What is wrong with Nigeria? It is corruption. Corrupt leaders that don't care for the people. It's in Nigeria that a minister will fly in a doctor from the UK to come check his heart out and send him back after a few hours. As long as he can afford it he can't be bothered about the masses. Why don't those in authority use the funds allocated to specific projects appropriately? Why do they always have the money and leave the jobs undone? Why? The latest one is that "Nigeria is a sleeping giant". Who called her that? Nigerians abroad? Please, this has nothing to do with insults. Nobody is insulting people back home. The attack is simply on the government. If you feel the need to defend your corrupt and unproductive government then be ready to partake of the attacks too. Even Nigerians living in Nigeria spew terrible things about Nigeria let alone the ones abroad. You people back home are the worst. Just because one or two of you here say good things about Nigeria doesn't mean that's how majority will react. The situation is bad and we should not settle for less when we can have more. |
I'm all for change and I don't see anyone living in Nigeria as less human. Hope nobody is offended ![]() The topic has actually changed. . . ![]() |
TexMex:I hate when people try to sound all diplomatic about the state of Nigeria. I'm not comparing Nigeria and may be the country I'm in but I'm simply against the way things work in Nigeria. If that means seeing things wrongly then y'all pardon. I don't see a reason why we don't have steady light in Nigeria, schools shut down for months, very poor health system, unemployment on the rise, all because corruption is the order of the day. Yea, every country is corrupt but I'm sorry for those who think this way 'cause the corruption in Nigeria can never be measured. We boast about how we contributed to other nations and how we did this and that for other nations but yet we have very little to show as proof of our wealth. Oil is a problem in Nigeria. That alone is enough to bring shame to the country. Let's not talk about looters and loosers in Nigeria. Seriously, where d'u start and where d'u end? I do not hate Nigeria or Nigerians but I will not smile at the system. Y'all don't get it twisted. |
It's never too much when we discuss Nigeria. Have I even said anything? Don't change the topic please. |
Touché! ![]() |
Did I forget to mention health care? LOL. . .the list goes on. Kobo, can u help me out, please? ![]() |
