If he was a time Traveller.... How did he get network and how come he was calling someone apparently at a time where no one uses cell phones.

Even if time travel would be possible am sure it will be an era when cell phones becomes obsolete... Probably holophone would be d one in vogue cos as at now, time travelling machines are still fictions.
