Bro, in the case of hopefulLandlord, I have nothing to talk about there, because beejay is not serious but chestbeating. Why? He has not sent ANY PM yet! And you would like me to take him serious? Anyway, I preparing a thread for that!
This is the VERY first time I am hearing this!!!! That Kay17 opened a thread for me ? Bro, if you have the link please post it here! I don't like disappointing guys!! Believe me!
Of course, I am empty! That's why I request you to debate me if you would like to, instead of interrupting this wonderful thread raphiemontella is seriously fooling himself on!
I didn't give a suggestion of opening a debate thread strictly between us because I just want to. I am a busy dude! I have many tech projects I am into!
I suggested that because I just saw how Hot you feel in this thread. And I guess may be you want to join the debate, which I suggested you to open a debate thread strictly between us and choose a topic you want. Then if you don't want that, why not SWERVE like pig and leave this thread for the debaters? More noise. Empty barrels and noise are like...You know the meme. |

Christ Jesus was a crowd puller.
Different sections of his crowd will get slightly different impressions.
Journalism isn't any different today, There's always bound to be slight variance in reporting same incidences. These variations are anything but slight. Try harder. |

It doesn't, dear sir. Copy and paste is not research. I can easily google the 'answers' myself if that's what you intend to do. Felix0mor is getting his ass kicked, so you can help him. |

otem4eartum: It has been scientifically proven that meditation helps the brain and as well results in longevity of life. One can simply achieve this by eating healthy and engaging in regular exercises. There has to be something more...Something transcendent if I should guess. |
Family › Re: Is There Any Positivity In This Recession? by Ranchhoddas: 11:09pm On Oct 02, 2016 |
igboboy3: This is absolute rubbish. The fact that you think that the only negative effect of this recession is the increased price of food shows that you have a shallow understanding of the pains people are going through. You think the bricklayers, danfo drivers and poor people are going through withdrawal symptoms? You think those who can't pay their children' school fees are being extravagant abi? You think the market women who sell curry have been living it big abi? Hardworking people are seeing their standards of living drop drastically and you blame them for living posh lifestyles. Food is the basic right of the common man and yet you describe it as 'only.' Please how do you tell those who can't afford rice, fish and beans to change their lifestyles?
I sincerely do not blame you. It is your elitism, arrogance and even self-righteousness that has clouded your vision
You write like somebody who is well-educated; probably the product of a wealthy home. Daddy can take care of you in this recession. No worries, sis You're safe. Even the person that claims your post is 'intelligent' is well-to-do. You can see how like minds agree No mind them. As a result of their relatively comfortable lives, they have failed to realize that the struggling familes, the ones who are really suffering, who live on less than a dollar a day and are on the brink of starvation, and whose kids are about to get thrown out of their schools constitute the majority. Anyone who was living a posh(whatever that means) lifestyle before is not going to stop living it as a result of this recession. The worst hit are those at the lowest rungs of the socio-economic ladder. |

Sarassin: Yes Religious deities exist, but not as we think. They exist as long as their worship and adoration subsists, because in truth they are collective thought-forms imbued with power. In other words, man makes God? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Who Is Practicing Mysticism Here? by Ranchhoddas: 10:06pm On Oct 02, 2016 |
Sarassin: Chanting will likely not help. First you need to understand that you are not your thoughts, and you should distance your mind from your thoughts. Allow your thoughts to enter your mind, don’t resist them, look at the thought, see it form in your mind, examine the thought, examine its relevance and then dismiss the thought, move it along. When the next thought comes along, do exactly the same, do not resist it, again, look at it, examine it and then dismiss it.
No matter how many times a thought comes into your mind, do exactly as above, the end result will be that you will find your stillness in the gaps, but do not go looking for it, your mind/self should be detached, non-seeking.
In meditative practice you are not going to have ten or twenty minutes of stillness of mind in fact if you get one minute then you are doing fine, what matters is what you do within that stillness. It is within that stillness that you will have a transcendental experience and it will seem like hours have flown by even within that second.
Don't worry about the "yawns" and "itches", sanctify your space before practice. Is there something to be achieved at the end of this? What's the goal? |

Mikocake: I'm a Lion 3rd year..it depends on the kind of person you are if you ask me. first if you're the kind that allergic to dirt and noisy environment then I'll advice you to please for your own good to find a good lodge off campus but if you don't have problems with any of the listed above, then you're good to go..when it comes to academic part, it all boils down to discipline and determination..people in hostel do well and people also do badly the same with off campus..But personally I'll advice you to stay off campus because boys hostel is nothing to write home about..if you were a girl, it would have been no issue but boy?? no no..I won't e wish my enemy that boy's hostel..if you need assistance in finding affordable and decent lodge at hilltop you can holla me..I'm willing to help. This is very terrible advice. You have just listed the cons without talking about the pros. The goal is to have a good academic standing before any other consideration. The best way to achieve that is by staying in Franco. |

I spent all my years in Eni-Njoku Hall. It was fun all through. So I'd advise you to spend at least your first two years in the hostel to get yourself properly acquainted with the school so you are not caught unawares by the rigors that lie ahead. The Den can be merciless to those who falter. Enjoy your stay. |

LadyMercedes: I understand. But, she lied about her AGE! I've heard about someone who didn't tell a guy about her HIV status till they got married. And, one who didn't tell a guy she was infertile, till they got married.
These are more grievous than lying about her AGE. Therefore lying is okay...Everyday on Nairaland I get to read one incredibly foolish comment. This is the one for today. |

TrajansKong: I hate to agree with Aaronsrod's worldview, but the massive and serious re-adjustments you speak of would only affect religions outside the African continent. We would experience extra terrestrials as devils, djinns and in a purely 'spiritual' way. We are going to miss out on the biggest event in human history. Absolutely not. They'd be videos and possibly interviews with them. |
Christianity Etc › Re: I Saw A UFO by Ranchhoddas: 7:58pm On Oct 02, 2016 |
Sometimes I wonder how the discovery of extra-terrestrial beings would affect religious beliefs- Massive re-adjustments would no doubt occur. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Karma: by Ranchhoddas: 7:39pm On Oct 02, 2016 |
Sarassin: The universal Laws of Karma are virtually inviolate. Your religious deity may absolve you of transgressions against itself but except in extraneous circumstances (beyond the scope of this discussion) where one's Kharmic baggage is obliterated and the cycle of "Samsara " is broken, then universal Divine law applies. I do not understand. Do you mean that the different religious deities exist? |

MrDavidson: What criteria do you use to determine whether a judgement fits a crime or not? Do you know the hundreds of people armed robbers kill every year here in Nigeria alone?
God is a just Judge - that's why He draws long rope for sinners to repent and seem to turn blind eyes when mere men say grievous words against Him. In our society it's the constitution. As societies evolve, the laws are amended over and over again to meet up with prevailing realities. |
