Stories, quote reputable sources and figures here...You were sounding so sure, why are you boring me with stories when all you can do is tell me City offered let's say 250k and Manchester United offered 1m...
I don't have the time to go on a merry-go- round with you...

U need your delusions to foster your victim mentality so good luck

I am saying you have no proof,if you do, you should be able to tell us how much City offered him and how much we are paying him.
then why did the agent go back to city to increase the wages after receiving man utd's offer

it really doesn't matter how much u pretend, u know man utd offered more. the only reason city didn't offer more is because they didn't want to disrupt their wage structure...

Why did Pep choose to go to City instead of other clubs that were after him?
because city had a better structure... they had wanted pep for years and had already hired the former director of football from Barcelona and other people who saw eye to eye with pep...

city were prepped for pep

Don't make it sound like it's West Ham here, it's City who spend the most cash so, I don't see how money can be a problem.
We didn't offer more money to Arsenal who had the call to make at this point, we just offered a sweetener to the deal and that's Mkhitaryan, City were going to pay between 25-35m to Arsenal and still pay him weekly (we aren't sure how much). Everything was pretty done until we came in with Mkhitaryan, Arsenal looked at the amount they were going to get for Sanchez and knew it couldn't afford a player the quality of Mkhitaryan and decided to do business with us, all we had to do was convince Sanchez that he had the perfect platform to excel at Old Trafford, he was guaranteed a starting place and the star of the team and he thought it was good for him and he accepted our offer. Case closed.
Now if you're on about inference, doesn't the above sound more plausible?
so one question:

Why in spite of all the aforementioned "sweeteners", did man u offer Sanchez more money
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by randomperson: 4:38pm On Feb 04, 2018
patrickmuf:
It's the truth because Sanchez told you or because you're his agent?
You're starting with conjectures again. I thought you came with something different.
it's called inference.... if it wasn't about the money, why did man utd offer more than man city?

I don't even get why that's an issue... your club is a rich club so naturally would outbid other clubs...

wait, I think I get it now... u guys want to maintain an image of a low spender so that you'll have an excuse if man city is more successful

Oga, someone comes here to spew trash saying we are paying astronomical sums for Sanchez from his head, he accuses us of throwing more money to players, again, unsubstantiated but no, we should all sit back and clap for him because he is an authority in football or what?
Again, all the points from him and others in support of his arguments are conjectures a d nothing more, no iota of truth in his arguments...
The truth is that Sanchez went to man utd because he was offered more money, simple...

were the fees astronomical? that's debatable. but he went for the money

They have been very incoherent, read without the usual bias that comes with a Barca fan on any EPL subject.
Number 1- I'm not a barca fan

And since am reading with bias, let's kuku leave it to a man utd fan to decide who's coherent since man utd fans are naturally unbiased when it comes to issues concerning their club, pep, mourinho and all

Baba, let me first of state that I do not care for G. Neville or his brother who is now the head coach on the lioness one bit. If anything, I think he should be hiding his head whenever he criticizes coaches. Ozil was absolutely right about some of these ex players who have become pundits. Rather than constructively criticize teams, they are hitting below the belt and it annoys me most when the below average ones in their playing days run their mouth because they have a camera in front of them.

I am all about setting the wrong precedence in the league. The EPL I presume is guided by strict rules which ensures parity, fairness and when a coach willfully alters those rules you are inviting unnecessary negative press. Every game that is showcased is a product of the league, it's like the orange a seller Hawks in traffic or by the side. You must always make them presentable. Like I discussed with @ eruditor, every coach has a right to complain about officiating especially when they feel their players are being targeted, however, he should show the league and accord your fellow coaches some respect when you do that.

How do you think Sean Dyche and Burnley felt when they found out? Disrespected for sure because he would not dare such against any of the top 5-6 teams in the league. How about the City academy players? What is the motivation to work hard?
which rule did pep break

Baba, I agree with you that every coach should complain and become irritable when his player gets injured because of horrific tackles, but e neva reach to come dey send 6 players instead of 7 na for league game, not even Carabo or FA cup sef. I believe every coach should protect his players despite the physical nature of the league but how you protest is very important. Right now, the officials are on a hot spot whenever the officiate city games because of Pep's comments.

Furthermore, If you look at it strategically, Pep is undermining the efforts of the Man city academy through that protest. Infact, I would have preferred to see him bring 7 young unheralded players to the bench instead of questioning the rules we all play by.
I don't know why you people are crying more than the bereaved... in fact, if don't think there is any bereaved here, only people trying to create controversy for a team that has been infinitely superior to all others in the league...

Guardiola is not complaining about six subs, the youth players are not, his employers are not...

How come it's only fans and ex-players of rival clubs that are disturbed? is it because you have the best wishes of man city at heart? me thinks not

ihenacho was and is not good enough...

that's why he can't make first team at Leicester...

guardiola is obviously not the problem

Clutching at straws, the competition then was greater, it was more difficult to win as you had more worthy challengers...

Talking about inflation, 60-70 in 2004 is equivalent to the fee quoted for Neymar now...You shout inflation upandan like you know how it works...
This thing is very simple... Just ascertain the value of all those old transfers in today's market .... U can use the percentage of the transfer record at that time...

Am not an economist, but i understand inflation is a significant factor and ignoring it will make this an exercise in futility

Hypocrisy again...Mourinho won the UCL wit Inter in 2010 after 50 years, 8 years later, they can't even make the group stage of the competition.

He won it with Porto in 2004, 14 years later? Nothing...Juup won the treble with Bayern, 3 years after the failed management of Pep, nothing to show for it...
Exactly my point, Mourinho is a small team manager. He should be dragging with tony Pulis, pardew, allerdyce and co...

He should leave the elite clubs for pep, and he should concentrate on inter and Porto, because when he tries to reach above his class, he always falls short.. cool

eph12:
What are you talking about? What is there to ascertain? Maybe we should also ascertain if trophies won then are of same value as today
Guy, this is really straightforward now... Transfer fees are more expensive these days...

Even in ordinary economic life, there is inflation not to talk of in football...

Neymar was sold for over 200million, if it was 2004, it would have been less than 70. That's like 1/3 of the price...

Is it that man utd fans are not good at maths or u people are deliberately being obtuse

Mourinho would have won more trophies if he had gone to bayern or psg. Pep left barca and they are still doing very fine. They won the treble with a coach that is still not rated till today.
Pep spent four years in Barca, in the next four years they have had three managers...

Pep won two ucl titles for Barca, five years later, they have only won one.

Mourinho spent three years at Madrid, no champions league, four years later they have won three.

Spot the difference

That I hailed the win doesn't mean it's not local. You should ask your oga dayo to explain how this local thing works.

Are we permitted to also consider the amount spent in relation to the number of years as a coach?
Yes, of course....

Pep couldn't win the local trophies. The holy grail still remains the UCL until then, Mourinho is bossing Pep in the trophy count...
Simple maths... 22/18= 1.22

19/9= 2.11...

Ergo, pep is winning trophies at a faster rate than Mourinho. In fact, at almost twice the rate

How we rate who is better when he has not actually bettered anything unless that in your imagination? Just a couple of months Madrid was adjudged to be better than every other team, and most likely to bully barca this season. Reality has set in and now the case is different. Pep may equal that trophy haul but for now he should take a sit please. Jose last won the champions league in 2010 while Pep in 2011 and you are here disturbing me about some local competition.
See the person saying local competition, u were the same person hailing Mourinho for his capital one cup and community shield...

This hypocrisy has levelss....

When u want to show that pogba is good, u would say he has had the highest assists in these number of minutes as opposed to de Bruyne but when it comes to guardiola, suddenly, the amount of time taken to do something doesn't matter anymore... Mad people

He was sacked not because he didn't win the league but because he lost the dressing room. He won the league last season and would have won it again. Even you with your funny analysis will coach Bayern to win that league...
Bayern were struggling in the league and then they lost to psg in the cl.... That's why he was sacked.... Heyneckes, the treble winning coach didn't win the league every time... Guardiola sucked the life out of the league- they were winning the league with a lot of games still to play

And remember, ancelloti didn't make semis in last years cl. If it was guardiola now, we wouldn't hear word

Because your rival wouldn't work again, abi?

We are talking about efficiency here. If it takes Gates 10 years to make 10billion and it takes Buffet 20 years to make 11 billion, who's the more astute business man...

It's like all of you didn't do economics in secondary school abi? This ignorance of simple statistics is befuddling
