R and V:Sorry, I just saw that you want to use the peels on your self. They are quite dangerous for first time users and home use. You need to have started getting them in a professional salon or dermatologist setting, before it is safe to use on your own. Can you let me know what your problems are so I can recommend to you what to do? Waiting to hear from you. Regards, |
Hi There, I have some of these peels, and I am based in Ikeja. However, because of the sensitive and delicate nature of these items, I would love to know what you need them for. Please get back to me as soon as you can. Regards, |
Hi, I am an internationally trained esthetician with special focus on the Nigerian needs. Very interesting advises on this trend. Though, I would like provide my scientific perspective, which I believe will help a great deal What you are experiencing is probably the very common follicultis barbae. Following shaving, the curly hair grows within the hair follicle in a corkscrew manner, growing into the follicle lining (wall). The follicle opening may also be partially blocked by cellular debris, which increases the frequency of in-grown hairs. Inflammation and a bacterial or viral infection frequently results. Folliculitis barbae is not acne but has similarities to acne (pimples and infections). Traditional acne products are generally not the most effective products in treating folliculitis. Folliculitis is generally caused by Staphylococcus bacteria (staph infection) and not by Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes), which causes acne. If product information does not include mention of this distinction and address the control of Staphylococcus, it is not likely the product(s) will control this bacteria. Treatment with these products may be ineffectual. As such, effective folliculitis barbae treatment must include removal and control of Staphylococcus. Treatment in the AM should follow shaving. 1. Your instrument should be cleaned with the product, as razors retain bacteria. 2. Use paper towels for a period of time to dry the face to avoid contamination from a soiled towel. 3. Change pillow cases frequently for a period of time. 4. Continue to use your treatment even after you have gotten results. If treatment is discontinued, folliculitis barbae may reoccur in time. Trust this would help you. Please beep me for any further help. Regards, |
ooyeyemi:Hi There, I am an internationally trained esthetician, and I may be able to help you. I would love to ask you a few questions. 1. Is the area inflamed? i.e does it swell up like a pimple? 2. Do you shave or use tweezers to remove unwanted facial hairs? 3. How often do you experience this situation? Waiting to hear from you. Regards, |
femora007:Hi There, It seems that I cannot post a long reply here without being banned. As such, can you send me your email addy? Mine is opeyemi.omezie@gmail.com. I would love to help you further on hormonal acne. This is because, I think you probably need some detoxification and other treatments, but definitely not, hormonal treatments. What you have described your situation as, is clearly not hormonal acne, as hormonal acne is characterized by presence on the lower part of the face. Please beep as soon as you can. Regards, |
elokason:Hi there, I am an internationally trained Esthetician, who may be able to help you. First, are you Female? If Yes, do you experience this itchy sensation around your panty lines? femora007:Hi there, I am an internationally trained esthetician, with special focus on the problems of the Nigerian skin. I would love to know why you think you need something that would cure acne (pimples as it is commonly known), hormonally. Waiting to hear from you. Regards |
mummy3:Hi Mummy3 I am an internationally trained esthetician, with special focus on the Nigerian Skin. I suggest you be very careful on using just about anything on your face right now, because if your situation is what i think it is, your skin's natural barrier is quite compromised now, and applying any foreign substance that does not suit your skin type could worsen issues. You see, acne (or pimples, as it is commonly known) is caused by an endless list of factors, but four major factors stand out; 1. Bacteria - Which is responsible for the inflammation 2. Hyper-Keratinization (in lay terms, excessive shedding of dead cells 3. Excess oil - Which clogs the pores + the dead cells to form a nice anaerobic environment for the bacteria to thrive 4. Hormones - Which stimulates the over production of the sebaceous glands responsible for sebum (oil) production. This is also largely related to stress levels, as an overstressed individual may begin to produce more hormones responsible for the sebaceous production. Most treatment programs and topical products, either attack one or all of these mechanisms to prevent the onslaught of acne on the individual. Another point worthy of note is that there are also different grades of acne, and subsequently each grade require specific treatment. For more information on the different grades and types of acne, you can visit my blog page. Skin type and age is also very important in the treatment of acne as Most acne products, are developed for juvenile acne and contain high concentrations of benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, azelaic acid and other agents that can be excessively drying and potentially irritating to adult skin. Adult skin may not tolerate persistent use of these acne treatment agents and skin sensitivity may become problematic. Also, Adult onset acne (acne that begins in the adult years) usually involves normal or combination skin or even dry and/or sensitive skin, rather than the oily skin that is typical of juvenile acne. As such to help you further, I would love to ask you a few questions. 1. You say, you suddenly had them 2 months ago. Do you think something could have triggered them? How can you rate your current stress levels? High, Moderately high or low? 2. What kind of Pimples are they? Are they the kind that are whitish on the surface or, just raised and painful? Are they deep seated under the surface of your skin and cause you serious pain? (Better still you can send a picture to my mail box -opeyemi.omezie@gmail.com) 3. What type of skin do you think you have? Oily, Combination or dry? 4. What is your age bracket? 5. What is your current skin regimen? Please note that this long list of questions would make me understand to an extent, the current situation of your skin, and what to prescribe to you. Please reply as soon as you can. Stay Blessed! |
hermosa:Hi Hermosa, I wanted to know if you have gotten any visible results from using honey to treat your acne issues. You see I am an internationally trained esthetician, and I am a little dubious of honey giving you the results that you want, however I am very interested in your finds. You see, honey has very good calming properties and can be used for a wide range of skin concerns, but I am not sure moderate to severe acne is one of them, though I would like to stand corrected if that is the case. In addition, if you have been using lemon juice, it is good to lighten the dark sacra that you may have gotten from the acne, so overall that is not a bad thing to do Though, Please let me know your findings as soon as you can. My email address is opeyemi.omezie@gmail.com. Waiting to hear from you. Regards, |
hilaryflex:Hi There, I have had this same problem too. I did not get the pads in Nigeria, but i was able to get it in Holland. However, they did not work so well for me, because it seems the adhesive were no too strong for the perspiration, so they tend to fall off along the way. You can try the strong prescription deodorants with aluminium trichlorohydrex. E.g Gillete, you use it at night and it blocks all the pores by morning. It has worked for me some times. The only permanent solution to this predicament is to get Botox injections on location. |

atuagbo:Hi There, Try using Nizoral treatment cream if you have not used it. It is very effective for eczema. If the case is very serious, then you can combine with it the Nizoral tablets, but please consult with your doctor or pharmacist first, before you start on the tablets. God bless. |
yejide14:Yes you should be able to get them. If you cant, let me know. Regards, |
Kslib:Hi there, Honey is very good for the skin. I'm not sure why you want to use it or specifically after your bath, but generally it has a lot of documented properties that are very beneficial to the skin. Stuff like, healing, for stretch and blemish marks etc. It is also a major ingredient in most cosmetics. However, if you have a specific skin concern, you can let me know, and lets see if we can work through it. Regards, |
yejide14:Hi, If you have been having it for a very long time, then you are probably using something that is comedogenic or you are either not exfoliating regularly. If the latter is the case, you will notice that some other or most surrounding areas of your face will feel patchy and sort of coarse. This is because you are not shedding off your old skin cells present on your skin. This condition is called Retention Hyperkeratosis. You are lucky that you do not have bacterial infection and imbalanced sebaceous glands, else, you would have been plagued with a lot of breakouts. what you should do is as follows; 1. You must have a professional Enzymatic Exfoliation to remove most of the dead skin cells. This would give you a brighter and healthier skin, as the new skin would be revealed. 2. If you feel you can do without the first step, you must buy a good scrub to use twice weekly if you are oily overall, or once weekly if you have a dry skin. This step is very important 3. Make sure you steam your face at least once a week, to open up your pores, to release the coagulated skin residues from your pores 4. Use a masque twice weekly to draw out the impurities from your pores. 5. Get Nose and cheeks strips that look like plasters, but are specifically to remove these filaments from your pores. You wet your nose and your cheek areas, and then place the strips on them for about 5-10mins, after which you remove. These are very effective. This should salvage the situation. God bless. |
hilaryflex:Hi, Where you have these sebaceous filaments is around your T-zone. Apparently, you are more oily around that area which is common for most people. My other question still stands. Have you started using something different on your face recently? Maybe a face cream, foundation, blush or powder? If Yes, what make? Waiting to hear from you. Regards, |

martin123:Hi There, I am an internationally trained esthetician who has had re-occuring acne myself. There are many causes and triggers to acne, that is also specific to skin type, genetics and a whole lot of other factors. I need to know if your friend just started having the breakouts. In addition, I would love to see pictures of your frineds face to determine what grade of acne that she has, as there are different grades of acne and their subsequent treatments. You can send the pictures to opeyemi.omezie@gmail.com. Please let her take bold pictures from different angles of her face. Waiting to hear from you. Regards, |
ringofGod:Hi There, I am an internationally trained Esthetician who has experienced what you are currently experiencing. May I ask, did you just start having these break outs or have they been present for a while? Final note of warning! Please stop touching or pinching them. You are only pushing the bacteria deep down the surface of your skin in addition to the high risk of PIH (Post inflammatory Hyper-pigmentation), that is spotting. Waiting to hear from you. Regards |
hilaryflex:Hi There, I am an internationally trained esthetician, and I took interest in your post. If I infer correctly, what you have is called sebaceous filaments. They are plugs of sebum and other form of cellular debris that just coagulate in your pores. If you just started experiencing it, then you must have started using some comedogenic substance. Before, I can prescribe anything, where exactly are they located? Around the T-zone, or cheeks? Regards |
atuagbo:Hi There, So sorry about your condition. I believe, we will get a solution to this problem by the grace of God. May I know what exactly it is you have used for this eczema? What kind of blemish is it? Whitish or raised? Does it come and go, or just remains there? Waiting to hear from you. Regards, |
manakeagie:Hi There, Yes, I reside within Lagos Metropolis. My email address is opeyemi.omezie@gmail.com. You can contact me directly for private consultations. Waiting to hear from you. Regards, |
Ollybiz:Wow! That's a serious combination! Any results from this? |
