All so wrong! Op you can offer subjects!!! Hian
Check your proof very well and see where you goofed! The context in which 'offer' is used means to present that particular subject, French, as a foreign language to fulfill the criteria. It's just like saying every student, whether in Sciences or Arts, must present/select one science subject to be taken when registering WAEC! Now, you see where you got it wrong? huh Pride will not allow many folks to learn cool

No one ever wants to be corrected by his mate but if we really want to improve in life we must learn from one and other. Great work Man!
My brother, that's the problem. Whenever you create a thread as a platform where others can learn, you will see people trying to discredit it without any meaningful proof to back up their positions. Many would simply say you are wrong in your points! Ask them to provide proofs why you are wrong and that's the end. They would immediately go silent!!! You won't see their comments again!

Music/RadioNigerians And The Belief In Using 'Juju' To Sing by Rapmoney(op): 11:14am On Aug 04, 2016
Countless times, over and over again, I have heard many people talking about artistes that use juju to sell their music. Now, there are some vital questions I will like to ask if it's really true because it seems whoever that's doing well in music in Nigeria is using juju to many:

1) Why is it that people who accuse most of these artistes of using juju to excel in music still dance excitedly to their songs? huh This means the so-called 'juju' is working on you!!! Later, you will tell us that you are a Christian and juju doesn't work on you!

2) Does it mean talent and hardwork no longer pay? huh If everyone who succeeds in music or entertainment uses juju, then all natural and religious principles on hardwork and talent are useless!

3) How come people don't accuse the producers of using juju but the artistes only, when it is very clear that most of us pay attention to beats alone and not lyrics? huh The producers must also be juju people cool

For me, I feel many of us attribute the successes of most of these artistes on juju because we are just too lazy to embrace hardwork and recognize talents. We base everything on spiritual influences beyond human control. It's either Illuminati this or Otomokpor that!!! What a crap! Who good dor good; who no good, e no good! Let no one tell me that one juju that is prepared in a small shrine somewhere would start working on millions of Nigerians; just like that? huh

Macbooks are manufactured in the US hence the citizens acquire it at cheap prices. Anyway, methinks there's no need for this comparison. Most white folks live fake lives. They live on credit that's why they rely heavily on the credit card system which they must pay back. We in naija use debit cards mostly hence your account must be well funded before you can make a purchase. My point is I believe in Nigeria. I'm not carried away by whatever happens in the West. Nigeria shall be great.
They live 'FAKE LIVES' as you claimed but their living conditions are better than yours! What a useless idea you have! angry

There is more to language than picking up English grammar books? Even the English man himself is confused?why do we have various shades of English ,the Briton has his own version(even within Britain the variant someone from newcastle(scouse) speaks is different from the liverpoon(toon)),while the Americans has its own, likewise the Canadians and Aussies!!!...My friend even the English that you so much defend is an accumulation of different of indo-germanic languages.English is crap!!!!!!....what do they have?...see different dictionaries with different phonetic transcriptions all by renowned linguist and English scholars!!!!.....Just go and sit down!!!!!....Speak and be understood...yeye
Chill and take a glass of water. Sorry, you can claim to have more knowledge than the English man when it comes to your local language! Not on this one! Bye!

That you no 1 and 2 is crap!!!!!....there is absolutely nothing wrong in saying who is that?..who is it sometimes is even demeaning,as it is used for animals or inanimate entities.my advise to anyone just saying who is that ,is that such individual should use''please".because it might be an elder...say who is that please? Or please, who is that?...you could also say who is there ,please?..

To your number 2,there are questions that we call yes or no questions, therefore telling me to answer in full sentence sound funny. If someone should as me,are you at home? And I answer yes.what's wrong with that!!!!....am I not clear enough?...language is all about competence and performance....comprehension is paramount....Nice points from 3 though
Pick up English Grammar books and see if you are not entirely wrong for saying the first and second points are wrong! You don't just sit somewhere and assume that what someone has posted is wrong without you doing any research to find out the facts! I challenge you today to do better than this. Are you trying to tell me that you know English more than the English man? huh Who introduced the language to you? Was it introduced to you by your ancestors? Or you think this is African tradition we are discussing?

CrimeSecurity Alert: New Method Kidnappers Use!!! by Rapmoney(op): 6:55am On Aug 04, 2016
A friend sent this via Whatsapp and I have decided to share it here for safety awareness!

Security Alert please...

Be careful of a sienna Bus that parks in front of you, and asks you to enter. If you refuse to enter, they will accuse you of being *a run away murderer*, their voice will be so loud that passers by will have to unknowingly join them to tell u to enter the bus and follow them to the station.

It's a scam, they are kidnappers, that's the new method they are using, they do not wear police uniform, they are always in plain clothes, but all they do is to park the sienna bus in front of any person anywhere and accuse such a person of murder, and drag such a person into the bus, stating that he/she is wanted at the station. They have used this conversation well and many have been trapped in it.

*What to do in such a situation?*
When you hear such,
Scream aloud and run away.
Don't allow them ask you any question.
At worst, scream for more people to come to your aid before u can ask for their police identity.
They are kidnappers;
many have been kidnapped in various places in Nigeria, as I speak

Pls pass this message to your loved ones. May the Lord expose these kidnappers and ritual killers.

Education10 Common Grammatical Blunders You Should Endeavour To Avoid by Rapmoney(op): 9:22pm On Aug 03, 2016
As humans, we learn new things everyday. Only a dead man that doesn't learn and the foolish man picks offence unnecessarily when he's corrected! cool I'm not perfect and you, yes, you over there, reading this, can't be too. We all learn but it's good you share the knowledge you have because there could be others out there who might need whatever you have to share. You can also learn from what others have to share. Below are 10 common grammatical blunders we make in Nigeria when speaking:

1) 'Who is that'? People often ask this question when they hear a knock on their door. The proper question to ask should be: 'Who is it'? This is because you don't know who's at your door. It's even preferable to ask: 'Who be that'? At least, we know you are speaking Pidgin English cheesy

2) Answering a question with just a simple YES or NO only. This is very wrong. Example1: 'Do you work on Sundays'? Instead of answering 'No', you should say 'No, I don't'. Example2: 'Do you know him'? Instead of saying just 'Yes' if you know who the first speaker is referring to, you should say 'Yes, I do'. That makes it a complete answer.

3) Using the word 'offer' in school subjects. Many teachers make this terrible mistake!!! You would hear statements like 'My students don't offer Literature' or 'If you know you are not offering Government, leave the class'. WRONG!!! Students don't OFFER subjects; they TAKE subjects! To offer means to give or present something to someone. Does it mean you are presenting something to Literature or Government? huh grin Naija teachers, una no go kill person!

4) Using a plural verb for collective pronouns: 'Everybody ARE coming'. EVERYBODY is a collective pronoun. Collective pronouns (Collective nouns inclusive), carry a singular verb which is 'IS' and not 'ARE'. Many people also make the mistake of adding 'S' to staff, when addressing a collection of workers in an organisation. Don't say 'All the staffs in this firm'. Instead, say 'All the staff in this firm'.

5) 'I want to buy COOK egg' (Lol, not even cooked egg! grin). It's a common blunder when we go to the neighbourhood shop. Bros, it's either you are buying a boiled egg or one that is not cooked (raw) because even the one that's fried is cooked!

6) 'The shoes do not size me'. Wrong!!! 'SIZE', in this context, is a noun! It cannot function as a verb here. The correct way to say this is: 'The shoes do not fit me' or 'The shoes are not my size'. You can still say 'The shoes are over-sized or under-sized'.

7) 'My stomach or my head is paining me'. WRONG! It's not only a terrible mistake to make grammatically; it's also a useless statement!!! Why add ING to PAIN to create a verb that's not only useless but non-existent? huh You can say 'My stomach aches' or 'I feel pain in my stomach'.

The following are more of Oral English (correct pronunciation; that's speaking right).

cool Pronouncing FEBRUARY as 'FEBUARY'. When you pronounce this word, the 'U' and 'A' are to be silent. Pronounce it as if you are saying 'FEBRY'.

9) When you pronounce WEDNESDAY, the 'D' should be silent. It should come as 'WENSDAY'.

10) When you pronounce POLICE, the 'O' should be silent. It should come as 'Plice'.

Godbless!

When I saw this story, one song, I mean just one song came to mind...that's the gospel singer, Patty Obasi's song, titled, 'Ihe Onye Ma', that a river never eats (drowns) those it doesn't see. This means that a river drowns people when they go to it. It is when you know evil that evil will know you too.

Christianity EtcRe: Do Miracles Still Exist?, Do Angels Still Assist Humans? by Rapmoney(m): 7:34am On Jul 31, 2016
Miracles happen but not how many of us expect them. Poverty in Africa and Nigeria in particular has made so many folks live their lives everyday depending on miracles to happen. That's the difference between the developed societies and ours! Over there, they think with their brains and solve problems but in Nigeria, people see issues they can solve with their brains by doing the right thing but they would rather wait for God or an 'angel' to come and save them!

Some months back, I drove about 7Km on a lonely road known for criminal activities and my car was having a bad ball joint. I was speeding but it didn't pull off until I got to my destinition. As I was driving in to park, one of the front tyres pulled off! What do you call that? huh A miracle! We must not wait to see deaf hearing or blind seeing before we believe a miracle has happened.

I will rate them based on creativity as creativity goes with intelligence. However, intelligence encompasses a lot of things such as comportment, humility, ability to maintain peace when chaos occurs, sound judgement and initiative.

Intelligent people are not cowards, they don't derail threads, they don't bully people unnecessarily, they do everything possible to maintain their integrity as well as reputation, they don't shameless womanize on Nairaland

Therefore, the following people are considered intelligent in my own rating

1. Rapmoney
