Firstly,i would like to make it known that i admire & respect any artiste who choses to use his or her talents 2 serve God.I consider it the wisest thing any1 cud ever make!

However, i can no longer ignore the mediocrity and wackness prevalent in musical works today made under the label of Gospel music! I turn on the T.V and watch poor,sub-standard videos supposedly done by a gospel artiste and i cant help exclaiming "what part of christianity is this?"
look,i know the God i serve and i know HE has taste even in music.

Dont think he's flattered when u rush into the studio and a week later,launch a wack album under the tag of gospel music!

I ask u again 'what part of christianity is that?'. The christian faith is a life of excellence in all aspects. God is not glorified when a gospel album is lower in terms of quality of production,creativity,skill and lyrical content,in comparison with a secular one!

See,enh! We gospel artistes must wake up and realize that we serve the Almighty God who deserves our best.We are not competing with the world but we must represent our father well!

Remember david had skills as a musician,even saul could not deny.Do u think if David was wack,saul would have listened to him?

I hope we understand the message i'm passing across.It is God that gave us our talents but we must choose to develop them with skill and dedication,if we are to make a lasting impact on our world.

If ur wack,pls improve and stop hiding under the cover of christianity!
If ur good(between u and God),then keep up the good work!

I was teary-eyed after last nite's posting.I guess droppin those verses was just the therapy i needed to take the pain away.

Iam not usually this mushy,but,u've gotta admit there's always that someone who rocked your world back in the days b4 u became the phenomenon u now are. Mine was angel!

Its been over a year now,yet im still single,stil not feelin any girl that same way again.I guess like Omarion did sing:

God! She was gorgeous/this brown-eyed lady/with an afro cut/straight from the '80s!

I tried to play cool/like she wasnt all dat/but two seconds later /and my defences fell flat!

I stepped up 2 her/and smiled,asked what her name was/she smiled back/like she already knew what my aim was!

We both got talking/and we exchanged numbers/two weeks later/we was bumper to bumper!

It wasnt about the money or sex/we never had one/we was just two people in love/tryna have fun!

Im glad y'all decided to join me on this lyrical excursion down memory lane.Way back b4 i became the Rap prophet and was just like any other guy tryna find true love.Its been a year now since i found luv only 2 lose it again. Believe me! Sticks and stones may break ur bones but girlz break ur heart.4give me for getting all mushy but today marked 1 year since i met angel and the memories just keep breaking into the stream of my conciousness.Let me take y'all back to August 2006!

Finally,i would like to add that we,the holyhiphoppers,know what is wrong with our culture and it is not the music.It's much deeper than that.As long as the hiphop community refuses to accept God as the 5th element of hiphop and give him control over their lives,the devil will continue to pervert the culture they were once so proud of.Hiphop is from God but has decided to play the prodigal son.That's why God called us(holyhiphoppers) to show the rest of the hiphop community what the music was originally intended for: To glorify God!

Fourthly, i agree that hiphop in recent times has shown negative propensities such as the use of sexually explicit lyrics and violent images.However,this is not peculiar to hiphop music alone.Other forms of music: opera,rock,blues,funk,techno,reggae,disco,alternative,bluegrass,soul,e.t.c) also have their corrupted versions.Why blame it on the game when the foul was from the player? The devil has no power over music but the musician who is controlled by greed,lust and pride may allow himself to be used by satan to corrupt the music.There4,the attack should be directed at the artistes not the music.

Thirdly,hiphop was not created by any body.Hiphop was an idea that a Jamaican Dj Kool Herc stumbled upon while experimenting on his reggae dub tapes.It later evolved to become a distinct artform with people like Afrikaa Bambaataa joining the bandwagon.Being only human,they tried to define this divinely inspired concept called hiphop according to their own beliefs,not neccessarily what God actually intended it to be.Only KRS One came close to the original intendment of hiphop.

Secondly,hiphop is like currency.It is totally neutral.It can be used either good or evil.Just like uranium can be used for technology or used to build an atomic bomb! It all depends on the user. Some fault hiphop based on its origin,but do u know football started in the brazillian plantations where slavemasters would team up and kick the head of a troublesome slave they just captured and killed? Yet,same soccer is a uniting factor all over the world,inspite of hooliganism and violence being committed by some of its fans!

I think its about time,i addressed this much touted issue once and for all.And for the record,iam a born-again christian who has expression,there4 i have a legitimate right 2 deal with the controversy.

Firstly, music is God and God is music.God made it,it was God that fused it.The devil never made anything,he only kills,steals and destroys.When l lucifer fell,he lost his power over music and all he's capable of doing is to pervert d God-given talents of men whom God gave the ability to make music.Satan only twists what God has already made,not create his own.He does not have creative powers.People whom God has given this natural ability only choose to allow the devil use them to destroy the beauty of what God has given to them.
