How can our refined oil be expensive like that of Kenya? We are an oil producing country for Gods sake, while Kenya isn't . You morons should realise our refined oil will even be cheaper than the ones imported.

Russia and its leaders can afford to do most of the crazy and costly things they do because of the abundance of mineral resources. Right now, they're holding the whole of Europea by the balls because of oil and gas.

Nigeria was able to survive the global recession of 2008 because of oil. Now, crude oil prices have skyrocketed again and fuel scarcity is killing most African countries. Nigeria is sailing through because we are an oil giant. We had fuel queues this year because petrol with high methanol content was imported by spurious dealers. By the time all our private refineries start operating, hopefully this year fuel crisis will become a thing of the past in Nigeria. Remember, one of those refineries is one of the largest in the world.

Kenya does not have a refinery and is not economically stable enough to build one. Nigeria's economy is getting more diversified everyday with sectors like services, fintech, retailing and real estate. So, in a nutshell Kenya will continue to lag behind Nigeria.

Yep, and there's a lot of Indians/Asians in Silicone Valley as well. And as far as why they can't seem to replicate this in their homelands. For example, does India have the same wealthy investors that will back their start-ups like whites in America? I doubt it. Perhaps, the great equalizer comes down to money/capital to fund the start-up, which you know is not equal across the board. You know white America has the upper hand when it comes to money and will back and support their own. Take for example the Uber app, I saw that app had been created in India before it became mainstream in America, and yet it didn't blow up like Uber or Lyft. Perhaps, because the Indians didn't have the backing and support of white powerful, wealthy investors to back them up like the white boys in America do.
