It's sad to realize the majority of comments here show a clear case of illiteracy. This guy was arrested without access to a lawyer and detained for close to two months without ever seeing a courtroom.

I can assure you that in a working legal system, even Osama bin Laden can't be detained like that. It's illegal, criminal, and a violation of the boy's fundamental right to fair hearing and trial.

If there's one reason for me to like sowore, it's that he's always fought for our judiciary system

This is how party politics should be. Cross carpeting isn't new to politicking in Nigeria but displacing those you met,who have laboured for the party,over time, shouldn't be encouraged.

Handing Ajayi the ticket would have been very unfair, because four years ago, Eyitayo Jegede was a strong candidate, going into the election, if not for Jimoh Ibrahim & Alimodu Sheriff's antics, he would have given Aketi, a good run for his money.

Btw, what if Ajayi,was sent by Aketi to go destabilize the opposition, knowing he won't get the ticket, but just to cause some kasala , going into the election. These politicians are capable of anything. Just thinking aloud

I support Agbo, but even I was reluctant to support him for the primary. It would have created an unfortunate precedent in Ondo state.

Yeah. But Jegede has a lot of factors working against him the same way Aketi does.

It won't be as easy as you'd think. Like someone already commented, Aketi also had all the characters Jegede exhibited before he turned into something else.

It's like the Buhari factor. Despite the people's hatred for Buhari, he still won the 2019 election:
1: because his opponent was as bad as him.
2: because people weren't willing to repeat the mistake that brought him into power with Atiku.

Let's just say Ondo will be a tough fight for everyone.

A lot of his supporters had threatened to leave his side as early as 2018 if he still insisted on Aketi. It's not personal ambition that drove him from APC. He had to leave so that he won't haemorrhage supporters.

When I say Ondo people hate Aketi, you won't understand. However, with Jegede as PDP candidate, I'm convinced Aketi may just win again.

Personally, I don't really care, as long as he's Yoruba.

However, I feel the Aworis should be compensated some and that the thing should leave Ogun State for a while.

Mr. A can open a company and through that company loan Mr. B a few billions to open a business. Mr. B's name will be in the commission's records but Mr. A actually owns everything legally.

Buhari's government is as much of a failure as Obasanjo's government was.... actually, Buhari's government is way more horrible than Obasanjo's government ever was.

In this, Osinbanjo is no Saint. I have said and I will say that he became a part of that faliure the moment he chose to keep silent on all of this government's atrocities.

However, comparing him to Atiku is more than just harsh; they are hilariously incomparable.

We do not dislike Atiku because he was a part of Obasanjo's faliure, we dislike him because he is a corrupt... the most corrupt politician in Nigeria till date. Osinbanjo, on the other hand, has been completely clean so far.

From the op, you either don't know Atiku's story at all or you're significantly bigoted against the VP.

While there is already a precedent that gives room for Agboola's defection, I feel the deputy governor should resign for the sake of honor.

Kudos to the CJ too for standing her ground on such unconstitutional action. If they can get the required 2/3, then kudos to them too. However, until then, I'm afraid the deputy governor will be impossible to impeach following due process.

Ondo is not Edo o. That won't work here unless Akeredolu wants to die. Ondo State people hate that kind of dirty politics. If he wants to impeach the guy, he will have to do it in a full house.

Clannishness, outsourcing power to non-indegens, Familitocracy, nepotism. Those are the greatest crimes of Akeredolu in Ondo state. Those are the reasons why APC politicians and most of the citizen don't like him.


He resigned his membership of the APC on Sunday.
For months, the deputy governor was at loggerheads with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his former party over the coming governorship election in the state.
Mr Secondus led a delegation of the PDP to Ondo to welcome the deputy governor at the party’s state secretariat in Akure.
Those present include a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, and the Southwest leader of PDP, Olurogun Olafeso.
Speaking on why he left the ruling party, Mr Ajayi said his political sojourn in APC ended because “the party has become a poisoned space.”
“It is a house divided against itself and in Ondo State in particular, the party is having breathing difficulties because one man is kneeling on its neck.”
He said he chose PDP because it is a larger house, which he had helped to build and a place which is not under the chokehold of one man or a clique.

It would be recalled that his spokesperson, Tope Okeowo, had on Sunday said the governorship race cannot be ruled out of his principal’s plans.
In his address, Mr Secondus said the PDP is a responsible party for responsible people like Mr Ajayi and promised that the party would be governed by its constitution.

Oga you get am. In most SW states, it's not about having A to T, it's about having A to Z. If you make even one mistake as a sitting governor, regardless of good performance everywhere else, you'll be lucky to win reelection.


It doesn't help that Ondo State citizens are stubborn about who rules them. That state Na pure headache for anybody. Aketi sef get luck, ask Agagu what he went through

Agboola is from Ese Odo in South with about 22k votes
The National Vice Chairman SW of the PDP is from Okitipupa with 36k votes (joint highest with Odigbo LGA)
The Senator of that Zone is from IleOluji with about 23k votes

How will Oke win South? He will be a spoiler for sure.

I don't think you followed the results for Senatorial or Presidential in the North.

The Central is where they most likely will pick..because whomever they pick in the North....Aketi will win..the margin is the contest.

Please don't use the 2019 election to judge state elections. The interests and stake are different this time.

Everyone in Ondo south was pissed at Aketi and Buhari's performance. It was more of a protest vote than any legitimate support of PDP.

I was heavily on ground during the election. in fact, I helped submit some of the results.

Aketi begged... I mean it, he begged all the people he offended when the assembly elections came. He saw the writing on the wall after the presidential and came begging.

Guess what he did immediately his candidates won? He went back to his previous ways. Agboola had to pay for transportation of the results after we called Aketi and the guy said he doesn't care.

That guy begged before the election. immediately he won, he became arrogant and uncaring.

Honestly, I don't see that guy clinching the primaries. He isn't a man of his word and nobody trusts him anymore. Agboola had to run massive amounts of damage control for him here in Ondo south.
