KoiceReloaded: I'm not a sentimental guy, but I teared up when Charlie broke down after saying he wished Nicole would die. It was a powerful scene, and particularly resonates with me, because I had once upon a time been in that sort of situation. Not exactly like theirs ofc, but relatable.
Everything in that scene was brilliant. It’s one of those rare times in a movie I really felt what a character was feeling. Adam Driver’s face at that moment was like an open book, you could literally see the horror of what he said wash over him. I had to pause the movie at that point to recollect myself. A very powerful scene indeed. |

DandeNumeruno: the games were inspired by the witcher novels but loosely adapted in the sense that the games created their own stories, but retained some of the main characters, towns and kingdoms that were in the books. basically the games were sequels to the books.
events in the books/show predates events in the games. Spot on. |

Faboosuarez: the game and the books are different, I've read the eight books and in all the books, geralt hates beards, even if a stubble appears on his chin, he shaves it off immediately and he has no scar on his face although he has scars on his body which is normal for a monster hunter, I've never played the games but I make it my bizness to know everything about d witcher world cos I really love it, I have friends who love d game and shii but d game and books are different.
The towns and cities are the same, even the monsters are d same in the books too but in the games, there are witch hunters which do not exist in the books, TBH I had low expectations for the show cos we all wanted Zach McGowan to play geralt but seeing Henry cavill play it really blew my mind, and for those who do not understand the series, yennefer storyline deals with the past, no sometimes the present, geralt story is in the present while ciri story is in the future, the showrunners are trying to merge the stories so it'll all make sense in the end Except Geralt DID grow a beard in the books. Geralt and Ciri do not yet have scars, but they will gain it over the course of the show. In the games, both are fully scarred, showing that the games are their future, while the books (tv show) are their past. |

CsRockefeller: But why was the Legend of the Seeker put to an end abruptly? I read online that it's viewership was not hitting the expected numbers so they decided to end it.
Maybe it came way ahead of its time.
I wish there can be a re-make or something, that series is a show of pure ingenuity, everything was on point especially those proverbs.
Lost is another series I fell in love with, still don't know how it ended.
See eh! The last decade made exceptional series, anything from 2015 upwards, don't get your expectations too high. I've watched a lot of sword fight scenes of Movies and TV shows alike, and one thing that sets them apart from other genre is the consistent blood and gore excitement. At least, that's the general idea until The Legend Of The Seeke came into the picture. I've never seen a dryer sword fights in my life. No blood ever flowed, Choreography sucked, and to make matters worse, the Protogonist was a weakling that cannot do without the Confessor: a woman. When the TV series got scraped at the end of the 2nd season due to poor ratings, I was one of the folks that heaved a sigh of relief. Good riddance to bad rubbish. |

KoiceReloaded: Ornicus is right; Feminism started with the Victorian-era suffragettes. A british victorian drama, Harlots, certainly agrees. One of the most feminist TV show right now. It showed sex scenes without objectifying women. |

MacDaddy01: Notwithstanding, do you believe that a housewife can be a feminist? Yes and No. Yes, feminism is about freedom and choice first and foremost. Women can still be housewives and feminists, the two aren't mutually exclusive. By deciding what you want to do, by having the freedom to do so, that's feminist in itself. Feminism is about being empowered to make whatever choices you want to about your own life and pursue your happiness as a full person. No, feminism fought so that women didn't have to be housewives, so that they will have option to do other things. Hey, it's a two way street if you ask me. Hardnose feminists are against it, while other feminists are for it. |

- Almost Famous (2000)
Immersive comedy, but resonated dramatically as well. Kate Hudson’s Penny Lane was the perfect emotional center for the movie. The movie also has what might be the best soundtrack of all time. |

RayMcBlue: - The Master
For me, it's easily the worst movie I've seen in the last two years. Incredibly boring, badly overplayed (poor Joaquin Phoenix is ridiculous), pretentiously directed, psychologically flat. The scene with the "non-beliver" proved to me how shallow PTA's point of view on cult is, taking all religious people for morons.
Yeah I get it, PTA is doing art, and that means he can do whatever he wants and it's going to be amazing. Or that's what he thinks. I rewatched this, but it seemed a lot worse than I remember. It's moved for me from one of the worst of the decade to the worst ever. |

- Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood
Acting was superb. Literally everyone, from the no name hippie actors to the all A listers. Fighting scenes were truly funny. I loved the OTT violence that got the hippie bunch in the end. Music was amazing, it was shot beauteously, it was colorful, full of life. Immersion was amazing, I'd watch the big 3 just living their lives for hours.
Having said that, I still can't deduce why Quentin made Bruce Lee look akin to a pompous ass douche and a loser. Quentin said in an interview that Bruce Lee was actually like that, that Bruce Lee actually said he could kill Ali, but in fact, Bruce said exactly the opposite, that he would be killed by Ali easily.
Some people said that scene was a dream sequence or Cliff's imagination, but it seemed more like Cliff reminiscing about something that genuinely transpired. That scene was such a bummer. |

- Casino (1995)
The sets were proficiently adept at capturing the period. The costume/wardrobe designer absolutely nailed it. Every actor owned their role. Conspicuously, Deniro and Pesci shined, but Sharon Stone truly made me believe she was descending into addiction. Woods was the consummate slime ball. He breathed life into the character of the golf course hustler. Let’s not forget Don Rickles’ brilliance. Frank Vincent too. |

- Watchmen: A lot of individuals won't be able to appreciate the layers of profundity this show has, but I am loving it. Regina King and Buster Scruggs are impeccable.
- The Mandalorian: This is probably the most I've enjoyed a Star Wars property in a long time. The reveal at the cessation of the first episode was an immensely colossal surprise, and I can't wait to ascertain more.
- Limetown just completed the series and thought it was amazing. It has pretty good writing and direction, and is paced very well. |

Olodo24: there's nothing special in the songs. The few new songs sound almost exactly like the old ones. Nothing new. The only good thing about it is the visual effects... Now that's an achievement Queen's & Freddie Mercury'songs are always special. The only group that have more popular songs are the Beatles. |

KoiceReloaded: Don't make me laugh. You should direct that "kip kwayet" to yourself.
There are several things wrong with your post.
First, Money Heist is a TV series/Web series, not a movie. One would think you would know a basic thing like that, what with you being a "TV critic" and all.
Second, Money Heist is a telenovella.
Third, there is nothing intellectual, precise, logical, and realistic about a telenovella. Telenovella is basically, a latin soap opera styled tv series designed to excite a certain demographic, mainly females, by utilizing certain tools in filmmaking, such as melodrama, and shock-and-awe. The melodrama variable is directly proportional to shock and awe's, whilst the shock and awe variable is the product of the melodrama variable, and a constant. Basically, plot hole galore.
Suffice to say. it's not intelligently written at all. It's a show that is generically dumbed down, in that it can easily be followed by anybody with half a brain, anywhere in the world. It's a little wonder it's so popular. I understand your frustration, I was sold a gripping thriller by many critics, and ended up watching a soap opera with 3 love stories between hostage and kidnapper 30 minutes into the heist. |

KoiceReloaded: Apparently, my favorite TV series, Breaking Bad, is getting a movie. I've heard the rumors, but I assumed it was a rumor on the account of no one coming out with an official confirmation. Anyhoo, just this morning, Bob Odenkirk (Saul Goodman) confirmed that the movie has finished filming. I'm like WTH, that came out of nowhere! What can I say though? It's all good, man. You're on fire, mate. As a fan of Breaking Bad, I understood and endorse the bolded. For the uninitiated, 'it's all good man' is a pun for 'Saul goodman'. Subtle. |

This is awesome news. After all, Joker without an R is just a Joke. Nice pun. A joke[R] without an 'R' suffix is a joke. |

Harddiskng: I googled “Greatest TV shows of all time”. I discovered with each site’s suggested (the most reliable being IMBD; they use viewer’s votes), There were TV Shows that never fail to appear on the list.
Band of Brothers (2001) Breaking Bad (2008) Mad Men (2007) The Sopranos (1990) The Wire (2002) Rome (2005) The Firefly (2002)
That’s how i started my journey to the past brethren. I have cleared the first four, currently watching The Wire, it has been a very delightful ride so far so good. I still thinking to myself how come i never watched these TV shows till now Quality list. You've a nice taste in TV series. |

kachi19: Hornku kip kwayet. I'm a tv critic myself and money heist keeps getting better and intense. The intellectual and precise approach to psychology, logic, physics and laws of criminology gave all the star points to the movie and the "senseless" love drama is as realistic as it could be 100% what we see everyday. Emotions tends to bring out the best and flaws even in the most perfect strategies - we saw all that in La Casa De Papel Don't be ridiculous. It's an action soap opera with a love triangle. |

dubylhover: Trailer of Netflix the witcher is out..... Just there tho I prefer trailers that are mediocre to those that are exciting. The former tends not to reveal too much and keep the spoilers to the barest minimum, whilst the later reveals almost all the high points of the plot, thereby ruining the main event. |

- Wind River: The cinematography, the landscape, Jeremy Renner's BRUTAL performance, the writing and the intensity. An amazing movie that I want everyone to watch.
- Hell or High Water: I love Westerns, but I recognize that they can be pretty trope-heavy. This one breaks past those tropes to create an engaging experience for the viewer. I love the modern setting and story for this one. Each of the main characters (Chris Pine, Jeff Bridges, Ben Foster) is layered while being very clearly drawn. The film gives you reasons to understand the motivations behind the robberies while also giving you reasons to not condone them. Overall a great modern entry into a genre that needed to evolve.
- I Am Mother: New sci fi Netflix original. Comparable to Ex Machina. I knew nothing about it going in so was open to pretty much anything happening. Surprising, suspenseful, disturbing, and well-acted. Being quite high at the time definitely helped with the experience.
- Boogie Nights: Wasn't expecting much, but boy, that was a great movie. Burt Reynolds owned that film. |

Miggs: @emboldened You've got it wrong Sir.That title belongs to the HBO masterpiece The Wire The Wire is a masterpiece. It's maybe not as enjoyable as other shows because it can be very dense and hard to follow and heavy, but I don't think any show is as engrossing and complex and incredibly well-written as The Wire. Literally any character could be someone's favourite, and that's definitely true. I'm not sure there's a single character who isn't in some way interesting, entertaining, or unique. Even fairly minor characters like Wallace or Slim Charles leave a huge impression. |
