Mann...Spambot working overtime to get you!

One of my favorite moments of the film was Siobhan correcting Colm about Mozart.

It shows that Colm was not as smart as he appeared to be, and cracked open his wise old man facade. He was being truthful to about his reasons for tanking the friendship, but his methods for doing so are still crap.

He is wise, but also bitter and stubborn, and that so he thinks that the key to breaking his monotony is by suffering.

I don't actually think that Colm hates Paidric. He hates himself, and he is using Padraic being "dull" as an excuse to push his one true friend away.

Avoiding movies that have a runtime of over 2hrs for now, but i am hearing good things about "The Fablemans", i will get to it soonest.

I knew I've seen this before. undecided

If you're gonna plagiarize someone else's work, at least have the decency to rephrase some of it. Copy and paste is just lazy work.

BTW, your comment about Irish cinema irked me. Having lived in Ireland and the UK, the current Irish cinema has devolved into an offshoot of British cinema. If you're gonna praise the Irish cinema, then it's only right to also acknowledge the industry that's producing some of the best films Ireland has to offer.

The Banshees of Inisherin is one of numerous examples of a British produced film about Irish People.

Recovering ✓✓✓

Not really.

Man got ran over by the a snow plough the size of a truck. Suffered a blunt chest trauma and mangled leg. He's in stable but critical condition. In layman's terms, his vitals are stable but not necessarily in good condition. A damage is done that may not be reversible or could worsen at any moment and lead to paralysis or worse... death.

So you're saying that the cia could allow a rookie rush headlong into such a case ?

While I agree that the cia is shrouded in secrecy I still don't believe that an organisation would take that risk.

Anyway I am entertained

No I didn't. My point is no one knows the CIA's modus operandi. We can only speculate based on our romanticized idea of the CIA.

The recruit ...

So far so good. But I honestly don't believe the ciao would allow a rookie run headlong into such a delicate case.

Interesting so far.

What do you about the CIA? Nothing.

The whole point of being a secret Intelligence agency is to shroud yourself in secrecy whilst you gather intelligence discreetly.

The assumptions people make about the CIA, MI6 and other intelligence services are inspired by spy novels and movies which in turn are based on superficial research conducted by authors.

Visual effects, scenery, the scale of everything is just mind blowing. The plot was nothing special, dialogue was shit.

At least, the first one was enjoyable. This one not so much.

Unironically better movie than Aquaman but that's not saying much.

Good tribute for Chadwick.

This your woke nonsense will get you nowhere fast.

Objectification is not always a problem. Some women even love to be Objectified.

Objectification is only a problem if it is done in a professional setting or as a result of stalking.

Is porn not made for people to watch and look at booty?

This is not a company or office or professional setting.

And don't assume anyone is an incel.

Objectification is to see someone as an object rather than a human being. It's a sexist attitude that has no place in the 21st century. No self respecting man or woman likes to be objectified because not only does it denigrate your social status, it also dehumanizes you. A person who doesn't mind being objectified usually has little to no self-respect. They crave validation and attention through exhibitionism, drugs and sex.

Opposing objectification has nothing to do with being woke. It's called being principled. If we have no sense of morality, code of ethics, moral compass and whatnot, we're no better than hyenas roaming the savanna.

The way some folks objectify women here, you'd think they have no mothers or sisters, cuz obviously they have no spouse or girlfriend. There is no way in hell you'd have a woman in your life and come online to disrespect and objectify women the way these guys do.

One of them proudly uploaded a NSFW content, in his incel mind, he's a cool guy... oh my word, what a delusional git he is. What a sorry ass.

Black Adam - The Director, the Critics and the Box Office

We are twenty days away from the release of *Black Adam*, completing the character's nearly two-decade odyssey to the silver screen. Speculation is running wild over its financial, as well as its critical prospects. Will it be the surprise hit Warner Bros are hoping for the DCEU? Or will it bring the franchise down to a new low?

I've decided to take a look at who's helming this project, what other work he's done, and how he's been received both critically and financially.

###**The Director**

Jaume Collet-Serra previously directed Dwayne Johnson in *Jungle Cruise*, prior to that, he directed the Liam Neeson action thrillers *The Commuter*, *Run All Night*, *Non-Stop* and *Unknown*. He also helmed the Blake Lively shark thriller *The Shallows* and the horror movies *Orphan* and *House of Wax*, released in 2009 and 2007, respectively.

He has a penchant for thrillers and isn't afraid to dip into the realm of horror, nor is he hesitant to get bloody and violent, something that could work very well in *Black Adams'* favour. Thinking back to that very first sneak peek where Black Adam electrocutes a mercenary until his bones turn into dust, scenes like that would be very much in line with what the director has done before.

###**The Critics**

Looking at his profile on the Rotten Tomatoes site, his best film is *The Shallows* at 78% - also his only "Certified Fresh" score - and his worst is *House of Wax* which sits at 27%. The latter was also his first movie. That being said, the Audience Scores sit at 59% and 42%, respectively.

The rest of the movies he's directed goes as follows:

\- *The Commuter* RT Score: 55% Audience Score: 40%

\- *Run All Night* RT Score: 59% Audience Score: 56%

\- *Non-Stop* RT Score: 61% Audience Score: 63%

\- *Unknown* RT Score: 55% Audience Score: 55%

\- *Orphan* RT Score: 58% Audience Score: 63%

Now, looking at the numbers, it doesn't inspire a whole lot of confidence. However, there is one outlier; *Jungle Cruise*, which has **an RT score of 62% and an Audience Score of 92%.**

**Average RT Score: 56% Average Audience Score: 59%**

Perhaps *Black Adam* will continue the trend and deliver a moderately positive critical reception, while garnering a lot of support from moviegoers.

That being said, the scores on Metacritic tell a different story:

\- *Jungle Cruise* Meta Score: 50 User Score: 6.1

\- *The Commuter* Meta Score: 56 User Score: 6.4

\- *The Shallows* Meta Score: 59 User Score 6.3

\- *Run All Night* Meta Score: 59 User Score: 8.0

\- *Non-Stop* Meta Score: 56 User Score: 7.0

\- *Unknown* Meta Score: 56 User Score: 6.6

\- *Orphan* Meta Score: 42 User Score: 8.6

\- *House of Wax* Meta Score: 41 User Score: 7.9

**Average Meta Score: 52 Average User Score: 7.1**

Here's how they fare on Cinemascore:

\- *Jungle Cruise* A-

\- *The Commuter* B

\- *The Shallows* B+

\- *Run All Night* A-

\- *Non-Stop* A-

\- *Unknown* B+

\- *Orphan* B-

\- *House of Wax* C+

**Average Cinemascore: B+**

On the whole, Jaume Collet-Serra seems to have a mixed filmography. Not necessarily good or bad, just down-the-middle average.

###**The Box Office**

However, at the end of the day, what matters most is how his movies perform financially.

\- *Jungle Cruise*

Budget: $200 Million

OW: $35 Million

DOM: $117 Million (3.34x)

WW: $220 Million

\- *The Commuter*

Budget: $55 Million

OW: $14 Million

DOM: $36 Million (2.57x)

WW: $120 Million

\- *The Shallows*

Budget:$17 Million

OW: $17 Million

DOM: $55 Million (3.23x)

WW: $119 Million

\- *Run All Night*

Budget: $50 Million

OW: $11 Million

DOM: $26 Million (2.36x)

WW: $72 Million

\- *Non-Stop*

Budget: $50 Million

OW: $29 Million

DOM: $92 Million (3.17x)

WW: $223 Million

\- *Unknown*

Budget: $30 Million

OW: $22 Million

DOM: $64 Million (2.90x)

WW: $136 Million

\- *Orphan*

Budget: $20 Million

OW: $13 Million

DOM: $40 Million (3.07x)

WW: $78 Million

\- *House of Wax*

Budget: $40 Million

OW: $12 Million

DOM: $32 Million (2.67x)

WW: $69 Million

**Average legs: 2.91x**

Based on everything provided so far, Jaume Collet-Serra makes so-so movies with good legs that usually turn a profit, if not make back their budget - with his only box office bomb being 2007s' *Goal II: Living the Dream*, making $7.9 Million WW against a budget of $10 Million.

###**What does this mean for *Black Adam*?**

Hopefully, it signals a dark and thrilling DCEU entry that also manages to be a huge crowd-pleaser. It may not receive the critical lauding as *The Batman*, but a RT score above 60 and strong WOM will help carry it to moderate box office success. If nothing else, it will definitely become Jaume Collet-Serra's highest grossing movie of his career.

###**Some other factors/trivia**

\- The script is written by Adam Sztykiel (*Rampage*, *Scoob!*) and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani (*The Mauritanian*, *The Informer*).

\- There have been two-month gaps between superhero movies in 2022 - *The Batman* in March, *Doctor Strange* in May, and *Thor* in July. *Black Adam* breaks this pattern by releasing three months and thirteen days after *Thor: Love and Thunder* and just three weeks before *Black Panther: Wakanda Forever*.

\- The time between *The Suicide Squad* and *Black Adam* makes it the longest gap between two DCEU releases: 442 days. The previous gap was between *Aquaman* and *Justice League* - or *Josstice League* - at 399 days.

1. DStv shows House Of Dragons on premiere night, meaning we can watch it at the same time as US audiences.

2. DStv subscription is affordable for most Nigerians with jobs. How much is a TV, decoder and dish that 50k per month earners can’t save toward?

3. With HD TVs being the standard nowadays, anybody can enjoy the series in full 1080i resolution (broadcast standard).

So…

Why in heaven’s name do Nairalanders opt to download the show illegally? Them swear for una? That one is too frugal to him or herself to watch a groundbreaking show live or just a few hours later means I shouldn’t post spoilers here? You children must be jokers.

Wait first let me watch the first episode in a few hours. You people’s poverty mentality is the least of my worries in life. Haba, you should have shame for once in your lives.
Room temperature IQ post...

oyaskii:
Who do you think makes this "said illegal" shows available for Nigerians to download??

Not particularly making a case for illegal or piracy but you are speaking like a person devoid of any atom of knowledge of the realities on ground.

HOTD primetime is available only on Mnet channel 101 which is only available on Dstv premium which cost 21k per month!...Now if the average Nigerian home has 21k to spend on Dstv sub monthly alone, then Nigeria wouldn't be a bottom barrel third world country and the poverty capital of the world with 90% of it's population living under $2 per day in abject bone crushing poverty.

And lemme leave you with this Kanye west leaked a screenshot of him trying to get an album off pirate bay one time and i remember a time when Neymar was watching an illegal stream of PSG's game on this laptop...so illegal download or piracy is not a Nigerian thing or a class thing.

Intelligent rebuttal. Bravo man, you know what's up. Even a DSTV explora using motherf*ucker like me sails the high seas occasionally.

Don't even get me started on Loki.
In Loki, it is explained that there is a 'Sacred Timeline'.
*Does this mean that the MCU 616 is the only timeline/universe allowed to exist, and Loki's use of the Tesseract brought him out of universe, because his past self wouldn't have gone through everything up until his death in Infinity War, changing the way events happen ? This theory explains why there are other Loki variants who where pruned, but doesn't explain how there are other universes for the variants to exist in since there is only one 'Sacred Timeline'. Basically where did the other variants come from if the timeline is sacred ?
*Or does this mean, there are other Universes part of the Multiverse, and they all flow through 'Time' at the same time, i.e. past present and future are occurring at once, flowing through it as a circle - 2022 is happening at the same time in every universe, but events may differ? This theory explains why other variants may exist as they are basically from other universes. It also explains why Loki gets pruned because he comes out of his circle, changing the MCU 616 circle forever. It also explains that The One Who remains can see the circle i.e past present and future, of each universe. But it doesn't explain why the other variants of Loki where pruned, since events may differ in every universe aren't they just acting out they're own parts in universe - the series seems to be implying that because Kid Loki killed Thor he gets pruned because Thor is supposed to be alive in every Universe or something like that. This defeats the point of the Multiverse.

Basically what does 'Sacred Timeline' mean in Loki, and how does it affect the Multiverse.

Relax mate. You're not supposed to overthink it, it's not a thesis desertation
