GloriousGbola: This was jeniffer Lawrence in the 2010s. Wrong. Florence Pugh is comparable to young Jennifer Lawrence. Pugh has a higher ceiling and thus closer to winning an academy award than Margot Robbie. |

Minemrys: On the contrary, CGI has been the complaints fans had with MCU films. The earlier MCU films though. But there's still time to improve things. The only time Marvel fans had issues with CGI in MCU was in Hulk, since then it's been smooth sailing. |

SOZINN: Everything Everywhere All At Once 2022
First and foremost, you must understand that if you take this film seriously, you will be disappointed. The film is not serious about itself. While I recognize that if you want to make your audience laugh there are certain techniques to follow, the comedy and crazy can only go so far in impressing me. This film piqued my interest because it was billed as a science fiction flick. However, the biggest issue I have with it is that it does not provide much in the way of science fiction.
Let's begin with the duration: 130 minutes! It's 130 minutes too arduous, and the questions I had at the end could have been answered if they had spent more time discussing specific details. Instead, they chose to lengthen it with a lot of unnecessary scenes. For a film that isn't really in the comedy category, it gets lost in it. If you don't use those extra minutes in the run time to impart detail about the film's elements, you're wasting my time.
Then there's the setting; there's nothing to see here, and it's not even impressive. While their "Multiverse phenomenon" is conveyed in a novel fashion, it is also rather messy. The film appears to have been made on a shoestring budget; if this is the case, the funds were wisely spent. The theory of the Multiverse, on the other hand, is not something that low-budget filmmakers should pursue. You will need a large budget to present that kind of story in a colorful and satisfying manner, and that is the fact.
On to the acting. The acting was excellent for the most part. I'm not a big fan of Asian acting, but I can tell when someone has put in a lot of effort to put on a good show. It's no easy feat to deliver madness on this scale, but this film has the proper personnel. The director deserves praise for a job well done. The plot moves along nicely, although there are a few flaws due to the large number of unnecessary scenes. The narrative conveyed a good message effectively, and while it, like most stories, has flaws, it is a pretty decent plot overall.
Another aspect I need to address is the dialogue. It was a disaster. It falls short of expectations for a science fiction film. I was shaking my head even when I watched passages where they used native language with subtitles. The first 60 minutes of dialogue are nearly comical. As expected, superb fight choreography and decent use of CGI for an Asian film. I can't give this movie a higher rating than a five. Not what I had anticipated. Science fiction/Adventure ugh This is the worst review i've read in my life. TF?!! |

abduleez1: Without an iota of doubt, Margot Robbie!!! She has the best upcoming body of work for any actor at the moment (male & female). Easily the hottest commodity right now.
Florence Pugh is a close second with Anya Taylor Joy hitting the third spot for me. Weird how the males are edged out.
PS: When sending in your actor(s), you should try to add the director of the upcoming movie(s) and optionally the release year. This info is for easy tracking for fans of the actors/directors. Florence Pugh's is better than hers. |

DrDax: Spoiler Alert!!!! Close your eyes.
It's a positive to act to him.
Him probably thinking she would be happier without him.
And knowing that marrying her hampered her career growth, and further alienated her from her father.
Divorce was an act of kindness to him.
That being said, EVERY MAN HAS THEIR BREAKING POINT I rewatched some parts and he mentioned at one point that a couple he knew had rekindled their marriage when they drew up divorce papers because it forced them to communicate. I think he was using the divorce to actually start the conversation since he wanted to talk it out. Kind of a Hail Mary play because he had tried everything else and wasn’t getting through. But I like your thought process, it's another interesting way of looking at it. |

SOZINN: The Lost City 2022
Excellent acting and casting. Although this is not one of Brad Pitt's, Sandra Bullock's, Daniel Radcliffe's, or Channing Tatum's best performances, the film itself is not overly demanding, and they put in just enough effort for the audience to enjoy it. It was widely assumed that this movie was a rip-off of the 2021 Jungle Cruise. Both films, in my opinion, are more dissimilar than most people realize or care to admit.
The film stays loyal to its genre and is an entertaining experience. Great usage of CGI, which greatly contributed in the building of the film's environment and breath taking action sequences. Although the plot was predictable and unoriginal, it had a good pace and fewer plot flaws than many other films I've seen this year. When things started to grow dull, the comedy was right on point and just enough to crack ribs or at least make me giggle.
Overall, it was a fun action/adventure film that could appeal to anyone. It met my personal expectations. Given the status of Hollywood movies and the genre, I had no unrealistically high preconceptions. Before I started watching, I had a good idea of how the movie would feel. By my standards, a solid seven. They did a good job because not many blockbuster movies in this category make it above mediocre. It was just okay. Brad Pitt is without a doubt the best part of it. Daniel Radcliffe is fun as the villain too. |

VerifiedStalin: **Everything, Everywhere, All at Once**
(Spoilers)
Funny, emotional, action packed, with great characters, philosophy, great story, and The Matrix references..
This film is more multiverse of madness than Doctor Strange 2. Most modern films lack the story's depth and character development, and it was all done on a $25 million budget! Imagine that! It's amazing how the story didn't fall apart in the chaos. In a world where Hollywood spits out tonnes of soulless cash grabs without taking any risks, this is a welcome surprise.
Every character is given the opportunity to shine. Even the Karen at the office fell in love with Everlyn in another universe. The film is poignant and incredibly touching, the message is laid bare; Nothing matters, so everything does.
To sum up, it’s everything I expected, down to the psychedelic colours. Really lives up to its title. Great movie. There's something I don't get though, why was Waywond seeking a divorce considering it's in his nature to fight negativity with positivity and kindness? |

100naira: mehn you guys are underestimating Thor and I mean MCU Thor, Thor nearly killed thanos with all the infinity stones.
Wanda is batsh**t powerful and with the darkhold nearly unkillable but Thor is a different level abeg Thor has been put in his place by Thanos on multiple occasions. Thanos without infinity stones overpowered Thor in a matter of seconds, even when he was supposedly at his strongest (which the writers claim was in Endgame, when he had both Mjolnir and Stormbreaker in his possession) Wanda, on the other hand (in the same Endgame), put Thanos in his place very quickly. He even had to resort to an outside force to back him up, which was something he almost never does. Guy, rest. |

In the MCU, Wanda, easily. In the comics, Thor has kicked her ass, but I'd still pick Wanda to win 9 out of 10 fights between them. |

TheKingIsHere: The huge setback for this movie is the run time.
My final BO prediction is at $800m with a production budget of 200m plus another 200+ in aggressive marketing, anything less than a billion is a failure. I've seen several people compare it to Se7en, which is a high praise but won't do it any favours in the BO. Se7en is a masterpiece but a slow burn. |

abduleez1: Nah, ain't wack. Na you no wan understand.
Remember I was the one who first put Scajo on the list. But later removed her since u said Gadot ain't amongst the list. The metric being SOUGHT AFTER.
After doing some checks Scarjo has just two projects all low budget shït u talking about. While the other actresses in the debate all have at least 4 significant projects upcoming. What's the meaning of sought after or in-demand then.
Please mention the "low budget" Gadot future projects?
Tudors ain't HBO. While it was popular back in the day I haven't watched it, although it's on my watchlist. Okay. I'll take back my words on Cavill. Although I didn't know him till MOS. As someone already said Scarjo is a bigger star than every actress on that list. Her star power is such that she sells movies on her name alone. - In 'Death on the Nile', she's a side character. Got killed off mid film. - 'Irena Sendler' budget is unknown but it's giving off a strong indie vibe. - Cleopatra has Patty Jenkins directing so it's obvious she got the role because Patty wanted to work with her again. - 'Heart of Stone' looks like a Netflix production and we all know Netflix rarely spend big on movies - An untitled miniseries. Miniseries are by design low budget. The only medium budget projects in the list are Death on the Nile and possibly Cleopatra. the rest are low budgets. |

AnfieldFan: Generally speaking, Netflix hands out payments in a way that most studios don't... Their business model kinda lets it slide... Think of it this way, if Red Notice sold tickets, those 3 stars wouldn't be paid the same... I'm old school in judging actors bankabilities... A film with Margot Robbie as the lead might possibly do better than Smith's on streaming, but if those same movies were to be ticket movies, then whose movie earns more wouldn't really be debatable.... So what's your point? |
TV/Movies › Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by RayMcBlue(m): 9:21pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
abduleez1: She's a hot cake if she's highly sought after for action adventure movies. If you talking of actresses for that genre of movies she's the most sought after presently. It'd be disingenuous claiming she isn't sought after. Last week I was seeing some peeps complaining on Twitter about seeing Tom Holland, Reynolds and Gal in almost all new projects. What does that tell u?
Bruh u lying if you say her only noteworthy future projects is WW3. she got Heart of Stone, Death on the Nile, Cleopatra and Irena Sendler. All big projects. I can compare her with them cos she's consistently getting projects just like them presently. Although Robbie is ahead of them.
Also, remove Johansson from that list. There's hardly any future project of substantial worth she's in. Just two unknown movies that's all.
While Cavill might be argued to have a bright future upfront I can classify him as a nobody prior to DCEU. I never knew him before he was superman. Even Gadot had featured in a big franchise even tho I didn't recog her then.
Still, the DCEU was a huge step up for them both.
The only true star I can say will eventually be big deal regardless was Margot Robbie cos she had it already. Oscar nomination and was getting huge appraise before DCEU. Your opinions are wack. Imagine saying Scarjo doesn't belong in the list?? I looked at the budgets of Gal Godot's projects and they are all low budget films. Cavill was in The Tudors, a very popular Medieval HBO drama back in the day. Then he played the lead role in Immortals, a blockbuster. He was a b lister then DC elevated him to A list. |
