How many African leaders could carry bags of cocoa on their heads along, with his citizens as head of state? How many African presidents could work with engineers constructing railway tracks? How many African leaders lead their citizens to the farm to start an agricultural revolution? How many our leaders sat with and ate with the poor regularly as they discussed their problems and proffered solutions? How many of our past leaders could still go out on their own initiative to clean street drains and control traffic without inviting the media. Rawlings did all this and more. Rest in peace, a true African legend. |

The remains of the former president of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings was committed to mother earth at about 3.25pm this afternoon in Accra. He will be remembered by Ghanaians as a leader who sacrificed so much for his country. He loved his country passionately and United his people together with a strong sense of patriotism. He taught them that hard work pays. He was a de-tribalised leader, who led by example. He ate with the poor, was a support to the widows and friend to the less privileged. Rawlings will be missed by Ghanaians and all lovers of genuine and proactive leadership. May his soul rest in peace.

Amina Rawlings breaks down during emotional tribute to late father The third daughter of the late former President Rawlings, Amina Rawlings showed a softer side on Wednesday during a touching tribute to his late father. Amina read the tribute on behalf of her mother, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings at the final funeral rite of the late president in Accra. The grief-stricken daughter could not hide her tears, moments after she took her turn to pay tribute to the dead statesman. The emotional tribute described former President Jerry John Rawlings as a man who never spoons feed people regardless of his relationship with them. “You expected me to prove my worth, by refusing to help my organization financially and challenging me flatly to raise my own funds if I felt the cause was important enough,” the widow’s tribute stated. She called her late father his ‘hero’ and shared a series of touching family happenings and at one point was seen trying to wipe away tears. The former President died on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Anima is the third daughter and child of former President Rawlings and Nana Konadu Agyemang. She is a lawyer and a member of the International Bar Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, AIPN, UK Energy Lawyers Group, LCLCBA, and Scottish Oil Club. She had her early education at North Ridge Lyceum and Morning Star School in Accra. Amina earned her LLM in Petroleum Law & Policy – CEPMLP from the University of Dundee. Amina Rawlings has been practising law for about ten years now. Source: www.ghanaweb.com |

1. I, Rawlings will not turn round and commit the very crime for which another man lost his life. 2. I would dare you to go and line up some of your finest policemen, some of your finest head of states, some of your finest, what you call it “judges”, make any allegations against me. You included. One of the questions you want to ask. Take me through a chemical interrogation, I will be the one who will pass. I wonder how many of you will pass. 3. “People with conscience are sometimes appalled by the extreme insensitivity displayed by some political appointees. The unprecedented levels of corruption, offensive show of power and opulence by some at a time when our country requires prudence and frugality is something that I call on President Mahama and his vice to set their eyes on” 4. Democracy is not realised merely by having a machinery for registering voters and getting them to vote every four years, but also by there being a machinery for identifying the needs of those voters in between the election periods, and monitoring the realization of those needs. 5. “The test of religious belief is not in pious platitudes and cautious charity, but in positive and creative action.” 6. “Food is a political weapon…Africa’s foremost defence is self-sufficiency in food. Until we attain a substantial measure of freedom from food dependency, we are vulnerable to manipulation by the wealthier nations.” 7. “Whatever form of government we adopt as a people to suit our peculiar circumstances, our basic tenet is our common yearning and concern for every individual; for politics, whatever its colour must be an avenue to serve our fellowmen.” 8. “The most dangerous mistake of any political force is to forget its roots.” 9. “Nothing is more shameful for a people than a government imposing itself on the will of the people. Genuine electoral processes conducted without fear or intimidation, without the harsh use of our armed forces, produces a cleansing effect in society and reassures the people that their will has prevailed. The denial of the will of the people and its attendant corruption is what used to generate the coups of the past. If we want to distance our political dispensation from coup d’états then it is incumbent upon us to maintain the sanctity of the right of choice and the electoral process.” 10. “It is not the absence of military interventions, which we seem to have achieved that will restore democracy, freedom, justice and development. What is required is the integrity of leadership and ability to empower the people. Leadership should have confidence in our people and not feel intimidated by empowering them.”

I stopped my export students from exporting to Uganda because of fraudsters like Yohana Mugisa. I don't know what they are looking for in such a country like Uganda. Is it hunger? |

Jesus Christ is the answer to Suicide. Cast all your worries and cares upon him because he cares for you. Surrender your life to Jesus Christ and confess him as your Lord and Saviour and He will save your soul. Don't take your life which you did not create. It is the gateway to a bigger problem. No matter what you are going through, someone else has experienced it and came out victorious. Just believe! You too will come out stronger and victorious. |
