FamilyRe: Is A Jobless Man The Head Of His Family? by realdemi(f): 11:58am On Jan 17, 2008
Julianah:
Men that are not employed may not really claim to be the head of the family because he will be at home most of the time and he's expected to do all the house chores before his wife comes back from work which has turned him to an houseboy.
Point of correction, there Juliana. That a man helps with house chores DOES NOT make him a houseboy.

@topic
I can't say more than ell77 and efuah have said. They have put it PRECISELY as it is. A man not having a job is not a crime but a man not willing ot have or seek a job is def'ntly an unforgivable one. He is a FIGURE HEAD.
LOL.

FashionRe: Usefulness Of Shear Butter(ori) by realdemi(f): 4:20pm On Jan 16, 2008
Shea butter does miracles for the hair and body.

For the hair, rub it in every other day. Whenever, u are close to retouching, use it daily for like one week to the day of retouching. After retouching, your hair comes out silky and strengthened. no breakages and also dandruff-free. I use it and it works. The present stock of Shea-butter i have at home is from Zuru in Kebbi State. so any local stock of shea butter will just do.

Shea butter also gives your face a smoooth feel and rough knees, elbows, heels too. You might get darker using it on your face so applying it at night is quite okay.
Christianity EtcRe: Lovemaking After Traditional Wedding Only: Is This Fornication? by realdemi(f): 10:40am On Jan 16, 2008
Truth about Marriage that most of us Xtains don't know is that marriage is just the way ~ Lady~ has put it. Once the two parties are consenting, the two parents of the parties involved are willing and there are witnesses present, pronto, u have a wedding!!!
The garb u don and the venue of blessing is non-relevant.

However, i realise that many religious folks cringe at the thot of the post. If it will make u feel better, have a man of God to pray for you and bless your rings at the trad wedding so that u know u are 'legal' for consummation. If u will still have a white wedding and your conscience is not at ease, then don't do it. The Bible says that anything that is done without faith is sin. If u don't believe it, don't do it.

RomanceRe: Who Sits In Front: Your Girlfriend Or Bestfriend? by realdemi(f): 4:06pm On Jan 09, 2008
Ndi:
Whether we like it or not situations like this would always arise.
A wise best friend would just let the couple be whether the lady is for keeps or not, courtesy demands that and i am not posting this because I am a lady, it’s a natural thing, any gentleman would not stoop so low as in having to fight a girl because of the front seat of a car.

Lets not forget that its not about rights here but mere courtesy, even if your friend is going to dump the girl the next minute, its actually nobody’s business.

In my own case what I do is to stand and watch where the best friend would sit and this observation has never failed me, some would say “this is Africa who send” well me I send oooooo! because I would not want to be associated with untamed or uncivilized guys.

Whats the big deal about the front seat? some school of thought would ask, well like iceblue posted “Small gesture tells a lot about a man” take it or leave it.
Ndi dear, u say it as it should be said.
Simple courtsey, the mark of  a true and well-bred gentleman.
As for guys who would gladly leave the back seat for the g/f, shows where the g/f position in their lives and hearts. Chikena!

I just don't get it undecided

what exactly do you guys want?
first you cry they are roaming free. . .
then when they get arrested you still say its a gimmick
when they are arraigned you actually blame the EFCC
for not giving them longer sentences or treating them like kings in prison

what do you want exactly?
Do you want them to be shot point blank without trial
before you believe they are actually doing something?
Well said!!

@ poster
It pains my heart when we don't EVER see good in people's action. EFCC has nabbed another one or is in the process. Next thing u hear is "hmm, na so dem talk"
Can't we just see light at the end of the tunnel for once? Try and be positive, people. Our confession is our possession. Am personally more than glad to hear of Ibori's plight because he is long overdue.

I nearly wept for Edo State when i went there during his tenure. It was a sham and a shame!! shocked shocked
LiteratureRe: Be A Literate Out Of The Two: Reading Or Writing? Which Of It Do U Love? by realdemi(f): 3:00pm On Dec 21, 2007
nwadinma:
Definitly, i will choose reading. i love to read but you know what?
when you read alot, you will end up a writer before you realize it
GL:
i would choose how to read. as Nwadinma said, the ability to write naturally comes along when you read a lot. the way i see it, you're not going to write anything of quality if you've not read extensively, have you ever thought of the amount of reading that goes into the average fiction novel? the importance of reading for would-be writers cannot be over-emphasized in Nigeria, considering our spoken english, and education generally, has progressively worsened.
U could NEVER EVER go wrong with reading. It's like saturating the mind. Once, it's soaked and totally sponged, it overflows. It takes great reading to be a good writer. QED.

RomanceRe: Got A Plum Job: Now She Wants Me Back! by realdemi(f): 2:08pm On Dec 21, 2007
My dear, she aint worth the spit we 'landers have been spending on her.

She is obviously a calculated, smooth operator. She eventually broke up with the banker (calculating). She called to congratulate you on the plum job, then the calls became more frequent (smooth transmission). because she actually got back into your life.

You had earlier on confronted her on the reason for her breaking the relationship but she kept mum.

You have this 'unsure' feeling about the babe, yet you have been on friendly terms because of the gentleman you are. If u had been friendly that means u know her to a reasonable extent. Bros, think with ya head, not your heart or emotions. Emotions are always onthe move. E-motions.

I guess you've drawn the conclusion already.
Peace out!!

RomanceRe: His Mouth Smells; Should I Tell Him? by realdemi(f): 1:34pm On Dec 18, 2007
The mission continues,
If u find that he has no mouth wash, then feel free to invade his house with Listerine, Brett and all other brands of Mouthwash,(the more the merrier smiley). Plus menthols of Vicks, Tom Tom, Ice mint etc. If u can, get him a Mouth Spray.

If there's no improvement, then U might have to break the news to him as gently as possible so that he can visit a specialist.
About 90% of mouth odor arises from poor dental hygiene the remaining 10% are pathological  that may need serious medical help.

If u feel the guy is worth the trouble, don't hesitate to try what i've said.
All da best!!!!!
RomanceRe: His Mouth Smells; Should I Tell Him? by realdemi(f): 1:21pm On Dec 18, 2007
My dear, i commend your endurance. I am sooooo allergic to pugnant smells that i likely would have bailed out if i were you. wink

But the truth be told a lot of guys need to be told a lot of things (u know, no matter how tall or old they seem to have grown, they are still babies) so Sis let me offer you a strategy.

Go to his house very very early one morning, when he'll likely still be in bed and you'll be the one to wake him up. When he has gotten over the delight of seeing u (don't go too close, u know how the mouth is in the mornings, lol, just kidding). And he wants to brush his mouth, follow him there. U can start a particular jist immediately u enter the house and then follow him around like a shadow as u continue the jist, watch him brush and gently point out the way it should be done (mind u, u are still jisting). And then, u'd say something like, aren't u going to brush your tongue? Where's your mouth wash?  and so on,  that way, he'd never guess your mission. smiley

All the best. hope your relationship works out.

@ All
Mouth odour is caused basically by bad hygiene and can be mended easily with good hygiene. Brushing properly, brushing after every meal, avoiding sweet things as last meals at night without brushing(sweets, chocolate, ice cream, dodo, chewing gum etc), seeing the dentist (scaling and polishing yearly), flossing and so on.

LOL.

the poor WILL always be in our midst so no one should expect ANYONE to be responsible for them. Even the UK and America et al have the poor amongst them so what the fret about. Should Adeboye be responisble for them?

The RCCG needs that auditorium. Any1 who has been there during conventions will understAnd the need at the sight of such mammoth crowds that troop there.

She can live elsewhere, not neccesarily under the same roof for God to hear and answer her prayers. I am NOT an advocate of divorce except in extreme circustances.
I however subscribe to seperation especially when abuse is involved.

I really don't have to explain to you cos I know that  Muslims find it hard to understand the concepts of Trinity and the Law & grace in the New Testament so I'll let things be. the way they are.

i'm not against muslims as a whole, just the fanatics or lunatics.
FamilyRe: Twice Unfaithful And Lazy Husband: Should I End This Marriage? by realdemi(f): 5:03pm On Nov 29, 2007
I have respect for men and believe the woman should submit to her own husband but subjugation and intimidation is what I would NEVER support. No matter what a woman does, it is UNmanly, crude, barbaric, animalistic and insane of a man? to raise a finger on a woman.  Real men keep themselves under check even when pushed to the wall.

If u have truly tried to reason with him to no avail, then I'd only say:
Pray for your husband but seperate from him. It is safer for all concerned(esp u and the kids). That is, take both physical and spiritual precautions and I'm sure all things will work out for your good, eventually.

@D-reloaded
True, my father cleaned up his acts when he realized he had lost a jewel. He actually said so with his own mouth after his come-back. My mum's a Secondary school teacher and taught us contentment and self-reliance becos we really had some rough times but she never lost her self-dignity. My father came to her virtually penniless. Even with the little she had, she brushed him up financially (d other woman had squeezed him dry.) and somehow, he began to pick up again. he's still picking up, some fires do die hard,,, thaht's y men should be very careful when being randy. And should always think 2ce.
FamilyRe: Twice Unfaithful And Lazy Husband: Should I End This Marriage? by realdemi(f): 4:41pm On Nov 29, 2007

I understand to a large extent what u are going through. I grew up in a broken home but one thing I thank God for is that my mother was seperated from my father when he began his randy runs. Though my father was never physically abusive, sha. His girlfriend turned wify also squandered all our properties (which was enormous, my father's family is wealthy smiley)

She took to raising us almost single-handedly. BUt the story takes a turn, after 11 years of seperation, my father comes home like the prodigal son. And my ma takes him back and they start building life afresh. I hate my father and would sue him for abandonment but Jesus touched me and i forgave him 4 all he did to us. We are still mending after 16 years. Broken homes tell alot on the children but abuse is more than i can tell.

My mum became a role-model 4 me and it gave me inspiration that I don't have to take s*** from any man just because I'm a woman.

Fret not thyself. U need not do much study but u can if u choose to but I will simply break it down. The God of the Old Testament is the same as that of the New. The difference is a change in eras. At the coming of Christ, the order of things changed. We came under GRACE and no more the Mosaic Law which existed as a result of the hardness of the people's heart.
In Christ, Mercy came and Grace too. That's why I simply love JESUS!

@Olabowale
I take my pick of Man-God cos JESUS was 100% man and also 100% God. Now, u can't understand that now, can u?? cool Not to worry spiritual things are hard to fathom, so I quite understand, wink The sad thing about eternity is that those that didnt believe can't believe anymore then, it'll be way too late to cry over spilt milk then. Whether u believe or not, IT WILL SURELY happen,
