Christianity EtcAre Very Poor People Excused From Paying Tithe by realG101(op): 2:13pm On Apr 03, 2022
I have read the verses of the bible that enjoin us to pay tithe to the church.

While rithe is sacrosanct, I also believe that the concept of tithing is mainly to support the indigent, the widows and the needy in general.

Having said the above, I am curious if individuals in the above category (widows, poor people) are still expected to pay tithe.

Please share your opinion

I will like to add also that I think the car switches between petrol and battery depending on the amount of engine power demanded by the driver.

I noticed when you drive the car on a level road or sloppy area the engine sound goes off and you can still accelerate but the moment you try to climb a hilly road or you kick down the accelerator the engine sound will come back (meaning you are back on petrol)

I am not an expert but in simple terms, a hybrid vehicle is one that uses two or more distinct types of power. They have special batteries (more expensive than normal batteries). Hybrid cars can use this battery for sometime while driving but when the power of the battery dissipates, the car will automatically switch to the fuel( e.g petrol). The battery will be charged again after the trip ends. So, hybrid carsl have extremely good fuel efficiency and they are generally more expensive than normal cars

To answer your second question, some of the hybrid cars will have 'hybrid' written at the back of the cars e.g, Toyota Prius. One way or the other, there will be some inscription or logo on the body of the car indicating that this is an hybrid car.

There are very few mechanics that can handle hybrid cars in Nigeria right now.

Nairaland GeneralWhat Is The Weirdest Food Combination You've Had As A Bachelor by realG101(op): 2:49pm On Dec 29, 2021
As an experienced bachelor, one of the major challenges you get to deal with is feeding.

I am aware that some bachelors don't even bother about home cooked meals while some are already living like they are married because bae is always around.

But the story is not the same for all of us. I cook my meals by myself most times but this situation comes at a price.

There are times when you do food patch and end up with weird combinations.

Personally, I have had several weird combinations but the most worrisome was the night I had to eat indomie and bread.

What is the weirdest food combination you've had.
Nairaland GeneralIs It Fake Life To Look Dapper Every Time While Bank Account Low by realG101(op): 2:15pm On Nov 25, 2021
As an individual, I cherish self respect. And because of this I tend to be very concerned about my physical appearance.

Not that I wear trendy/very expensive designer clothes or jewelleries but I wear quality and well fitted ones and hold myself to a high behaviour standard.

Now, the thing is people see me as a big boy with a very loaded bank account. But I don't like people dealing with me based on such presumption so I have a habit of correcting people's rich boy impression of me by telling them I'm still hustling and that's where things get awkward. Especially with the ladies.

I've noticed that people react negatively when you are blunt about the truth. They prefer you fake up with them like all is well and lead them on.

So I have one big question:

SHOULD A PERSON REDUCE THE QUALITY OF THEIR DRESSING OR APPEARANCE TO REFLECT THEIR ACTUAL FINANCIAL STATUS?

I'm trying to avoid falling in the category of those who are accused of living the fake life.

What's your opinion house

HealthObesity And The Role Of Parents by realG101(op): 10:24am On Jul 27, 2021
Apart from the plethora of health risks associated with overweight or obesity, people generally dislike being referred to as fat. This is for many reasons cutting across a number of factors from unattractive physique, to clothings not fitting nicely, to general social stigma, to paying for two as a passenger, to limited spousal options and the list is endless.

First of all, let's agree on one truth, slimming down or shedding one's weight is one of the most nigh impossible tasks an individual could embark on.

It is therefore true that it is better to avoid overweight than try to cure it. Which leads us to the moral of the story.

Having done a close and careful observation, it turned out that contrary to popular belief that obesity is self inflicted, parents are more often the culprits than the sufferer himself.

Most obesity cases began at childhood. But became irreversible at adulthood because the parents failed to nip it in the bud.

Most parents carried away in the bid to show love and care to their offsprings find themselves over feeding their offsprings or maybe they let the children over feed due to inadequate supervision.

This is therefore a call on all young parents and intending parents to start watching their kids' weight for them. This will save the child a life time of pains and regret.

The over pamper and indulgence actually going beyond the food and touches on child discipline but that is a discussion for another day.

My closing remarks will therefore be.. love without discipline will destroy your child and they may later hate you for it

PoliticsI Wonder Why Nigerians Accepted Me Despite Not Being Rich. Pres. Buhari Pensive by realG101(op): 3:51pm On Jul 14, 2021
President Buhari says he wonders why Nigerians accepted and voted for him “despite not being rich”.

The president stated this on Tuesday July 13, when he received the report of the National Security Summit held on May 26 by the house of representatives. The report was submitted by a team of lawmakers led by Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the lower chamber.

“The number of people that turned out to see me, some waiting for 10 hours in the sun, was more than anyone could buy or force. They just wanted to see who this Buhari was.

People wonder why Nigerians accept me, despite not being rich. I wonder, too.

I felt I just have to serve Nigeria and Nigerians to the best of my ability'' he said

The president further said that Nigerians are lucky and should congratulate themselves despite the prevailing challenges.

Nairaland GeneralHow Are You Coping With The High Cost Of Food Stuff by realG101(op): 6:21pm On Jun 25, 2021
Any Nigerian who is an adult should be well aware of the alarming rate at which the prices of goods and services have doubled in recent times.

You don't even need to be married with kids to feel the heat in the economy right now. Things are really getting ugly in the neighbourhoods across the country and everyone is keeping mum.

I went to the market today to get some tomatoes and I was really shocked at the price calling. It really made me sad and this is not because I couldn't comfortably buy what I needed but because I saw so many pained people in the market.

The sellers would package about 10 pieces of tomatoes and call it N800 or 1k. This same portion uses to sell for around N200.

Imagine a woman with a child on her back, trying to beg the seller to sell tomatoes of N200 with this inflation. I was so sad at the woman's predicament.

And the price trend affects every other item in the market as we speak.

I really hope this doesn't last for too long because I'm sure people are going hungry in the neighbourhoods.
Nairaland GeneralCan Instagram Take The Place Of Twitter For Nigerian by realG101(op): 10:26pm On Jun 15, 2021
It is no longer news that twitter for some time now has been suspended from operating in Nigeria indefinitely.

While this has received numerous backlash from citizens and the international community, the govt appears quite resolute on this decision.

This has got me curious about something. Can Instagram actually serve the purpose for which Twitter served the Nigerian youths.

Can they circulate news, achieve political mobilization, rally support for a cause (like the endsarz) time, promote their businesses online with Instagram like they used to do on Twitter.

Some people believe that the june 12 protest might have had better planning and impact if twitter had not been suspended.

I feel Instagram could be put to the same use as Twitter.

What's your opinion on this?

PoliticsPeaceful Division Of Nigeria, What Are The Benefits by realG101(op): 9:15pm On May 03, 2021
I am Nigerian and proud. And every nigerian equally is, except they stopped at some point.

I will not bore you with all the grace and natural endowments nigeria is blessed it, these things are undeniably true but have all become a mirage in the face of poor leadership and human capital.

The big question is where did we go wrong?

If you keep an open mind, there are dozens of correct answers to the above question but for the sake of time, let's consider the most critical answer.

I am of the opinion that the problem is foundational, inherent, it was perceived, premeditated and carefully orchestrated.

Before the creation of one Nigeria, the major constituents of Nigeria were great kingdoms that rose from very distinct dynasties with established sense of indentity and heritage.

Bear in mind that these kingdoms had their working socio political ideals in place and were already flourishing before the colonialists came and merged them for administrative purpose.

I will not fall to the temptation of blaming our political fore fathers for delivering an imperfect or pseudo country to the incoming (now current) generation. I will in fact say they accomplished their own part of the struggle. It certainly behoves on the next generation to make further amends, negotiations and renegotiation till ideal nation-states would be created.

Nigeria (like many other countries) is referred to as a developing country for a reason. To me, the idea is that its architecture is still subject to corrections and modifications. These corrections are the responsibility of the current generation, OUR GENERATION.

'Nigeria's unity is non negotiable'

The above statement is the greatest aberration by the govt/elites of Nigeria. This however is not unconnected to the fact that they are big time beneficiaries of the faulty system as it is human nature to tend to be selfish.

I lay the above foundation to put my hopes of a peaceful divorce of Nigeria in proper perspective and in the same breath, state the gains we all stand to experience if Nigeria eventually breaks up.

1. It will be a refreshing new dawn for ODUDUWA REPUBLIC, BIAFRA and even the new Nigeria which will usher in new orientation, hope and motivation for their respective peoples. The political/developmental fatigue will all be gone and we will all be rejuvenated.

2. We will witness the birth of true, viable nation-states whereby ethnic intolerance crisis will become a thing of the past and tribal marginalisation will become very minimal.

3. Religious crisis will also be drastically minimized. In my opinion, northern Nigeria is predominantly Islamic while the south-east is predominantly Christian. The southwest to the best of my knowledge is a very liberal zone (christianity or Islam, anyone goes). If these 3 regions would have their own nations, religious crisis will evidently be eliminated.

4. There will be rapid development in BIAFRA, ODUDUWA and new Nigeria as 3 different nations.

'The problems Nigeria is facing today as a country is normal, the likes of US have had similar problems and it took them hundreds of years to get to where they are today'

Again, the above is another blackmail and false statement told to Nigerians to delay the country's political destiny.

We are in the information age, and everything happens faster now than they ever did. Even kids of today learn and mature faster.

The fact that we are a colonial country does not mean we need 250 years like the United states before we develop. China, Dubai just to mention a few did not spend up to 50year to get to where they are today. FYI China was also colonised by Britain.

Like I said, we are in the age of information, and knowledge is everywhere. Blueprint for development is available to every willing nation. What it take for a country to develop are:

a. More science and less religiosity
b. One National identity and one direction
c. Quality, merit based leadership

If BIAFRA, ODUDUWA emerge, the political power brokers will lose their influence to the new order, then the above development blueprint stand a chance to be executed.

Also, there will be a sort of healthy competition towards growth and development among the 3 new countries.

5. Ease of governance. If we achieve the division of nigeria, the leaders of the new countries will become more effective and productive due to moderate sizes of their nations' populations.

'Our population is our strength'

Above is another terrible lie to Nigerians. A nation's ability to prosper does not depend on the size of its population. Nigeria's population is more than that of Britain and France put together, and these are giant world powers.

In closing, there is a saying that 20 children cannot play together for 20 years.

Let us choose peace and progress over unity in penury.

I hope this meets you well.

Tinubu and his wife's ambition to become the President and the First Lady supercedes every calamity that is currently befalling this country. But truthfully, they are not my problem. My major problem is the Nigerian youth who, just as our old generation of politicians/leaders have failed to position the country on the path to greatness, has also failed to collectively get it right in choosing worthy leaders for the country.

There needs to be a break from the norm in future elections. The French youths did it with Emmanuel Macron. We too we can do it!
Let's try and be thorough in our approach. We cannot keep making the same mistakes, we should have seen it by now that it is the dogmatic population in the north that breaks our momentum.

Even if the right thinking southern youth try to vote for a good candidate, the northern youth will always vote irrationally once their emirs tell them to vote for their incompetent brother.

And you know we can't overlook the Kardashians (kano, Kaduna, katsina) as they will always determine elections

True, after causing problems for the ordinary citizens, they run away to foreign countries and watch people die on cable TV. When wahala settles, they come back to claim heroism and some people would still applaud them.

We need restructuring in the country.
I don't think you're aware of what the ordinary citizens are already facing. People's lives are already worthless in Nigeria. Secession is the best way to go. There's no true love and unity in Nigeria, it all man (ethnic group) for himself. Yes, I agree that restructuring can fix the country but they will never do it because just like secession, the result of restructuring will be ethnic based rapid development which they don't want. For reason I can't comprehend, they want to keep the masses in poverty.

The northerners may not be in support of Secession because the ongoing injustice benefits them and they see themselves are colonizing the rest of the country.

Nairaland GeneralHooking Up With Hookers And Its Accompanying Dangers For Young Men by realG101(op): 4:25pm On Mar 14, 2021
For some teenage males and even working class bachelors, the reality of sex draught stares one in the face at one stage in life or another. And for most Male in this situation, any means capable of bringing quick solution to their momentary sexual needs will be explored.

As we all know, for any one under the grip of kongi and who has no spouse has only one option ie paid sex or maybe the quite unpopular option of abstinence. But we all know most males of this generation will prefer the former option.

Paid sex may be the go-to option for a quick, spontaneous, zero stress sexual experience but it comes with more price to pay than just the money you part with.

As I always say to my friends, I'm proud to tell you too that I'm one of the endangered species of men who have never paid for sex before. Not like we see it as an plaqued award of some sort (maybe a little sha), but because of the indignity inherent in the whole process.

Below I will tell you why I believe hooking up with a hooker is not ideal for a man

1. Hygiene: there is no gain saying sex with a hooker is bad hygiene in itself. Because she must have had sex with several people who may not necessarily be hygienic themselves but because she needs money and they have money, she let's them smash. Whether we agree or not, condoms aren't 100% safe.

2. The excitement: If someone agrees to have sex with you for a fee, for me that already sort of takes the fun out of the whole thing. Not like you hunted this chick down with your charm and skills or that she's feeling you. For me that satisfaction will just be missing if I pay to get a girl to bed.

3. Spirituality: I've heard from some Christians folks that when you have a sexual intercourse with someone, you've had a covenant with them in the spirit world and that you share all their spiritual problems (or blessings if a person with good spirits). Considering sex is powerful, sex is what leads to the life of another being, you don't want to be defiant to this school of thought

4. Self esteem: For any man with high self esteem, common street sex is not an option. Some people will want to say that their are very high class prostitutes who will not have sex indiscriminately even if you have mo eyes to pay them. The truth still remains that they have sex with strangers, people whose past they know nothing of, they could even have sex with ritualist who will deposit juju and bad luck inside them. The risks are I inexhaustible. But the punch line is a man who hasn't lost his self esteem will rather sweep a high quality chick off her feet and then smash than go looking to have sex with vulnerable women looking for money.

My write up is not to judge those who patronize hookers in any way, its is just to set the records straight in case some of us are not aware of the disadvantages of the practice

I'll start with the know-how.. We have capable youths for the Nigerian project .. What we seem to lack is the resources to effectively run campaigns and confront the old generation politicians in elections.

Think about it, who will sponsor your nation wide campaigns when they know you will not steal and refund their campaign expenditures when you resume office. When they know you'll probably block all the corrupt policies that enrich them as business men

And lastly, we know elections in Nigeria are all about manipulating state institutions like the police, inec to perpetrate oneself in power.

The youth definitely cannot compete in that league and therefore only one thing can work

Revolution!!

All these you've stated about the youth of Nigeria may be true but if we fold our arms, it will only get worse and worse. Mean while, the fact that some indulge in these vices does not mean that we can no longer reason productively..like burna boy's song, these youths are only monsters made of the many years of hardship and suffering. Our girls use their body to earn a living due to lack of basic privileges. We cannot blame anyone for trying to survive because many of us may do the same 'yahoo' if we had to start where they stated from. I totally understand your feeling that the minds of the youth may be irredeemably corrupt but the solution still lies with us. Just a few good youths can lead the others into the light.

venger:
Which of the Nigeria youth, is it the one's that spend all their youthful age scamming the white men and women and there justification is that they are recovering the wealth, their ancestor lost to the white. Is the the one's that harvest human organs for sale and ritual purpose. Is it the one's that do kidnapping, banditry and terrorism. Is it the one's that do tribalism and ethnicity and give each other degoratry name like afonja, aboki, Igbo e.t.c. is it the one's that support protest and go behind to sabotage it and blame those who participate in it. Is it the one's that are intolerant to each other religion and affiliation. Is it the one's that support government no matter how bad the government it. Nigeria youths are not ready for leadership position, that is why the old men still rules us today
Nairaland GeneralRules And Regulations Of 1st Dates With Nigerian Girls by realG101(op): 6:24am On Feb 05, 2021
It's no debate that Nigerian ladies are very peculiar, both for good and not so good reasons. Relatively, they have their virtues. At least unlike the so called 'civilised' females of the western world, Nigerian women are not predominantly engrossed in feminism and are therefore humble and respectful.

The flip side here is that they suffer a symptom called entitlement mentality. They are very money oriented. In all fairness, they are only a product of the society they've been born into.

Without further ado allow me to share some tips on how to successfully take a Nigerian girl on a
1st date.

1. Take her during the day: it is very important that the first date occurs in the light of the day. This will enable you two assess each other's physical attributes to a reasonable extent. You don't want to see her for the first time in the night when you can barely even see her real face considering she might be wearing a heavy make up.

2. Know the location like the back of your hand: Especially for our brothers on a budget. Resists the urge to pick a random meeting point. Whether it's a bar or a restaurant, be sure to know the meeting spot and the price of most things in the place before taking a nigerian girl there on a date. We know how some girls can want to order very expensive things on another person's tab. It's a shameless thing and you shouldn't see such girl any other time by the way.

3. Meeting at a groovy location : A lot of bros are guilty here. Don't ever take a girl to a location with loud music or crowded. You may not get the opportunity for a meaningful conversation cuz you can barely hear each other's voice.

4. She may give it up on the 1st date: Many people believe a girl is loose if she lays with you on the 1st date. This is not true. We already know women can act, they are the master of deceit. Not having sex until 3months doesn't mean she's not a LovePeddler. So it makes no difference if y'all Bleep on the 1st date. It's a matter of y'all truly having an instant chemistry. Provided she is not asking for money though. By the was, Konji is a bastard and a respecter of no one. She may have been sex starved for a while.

So on your date this coming weekend, you should bear these factors in mind

Also speaking about the incident, the Onikogosi of Ikogosi Ekiti, Oba Abiodun Olorunnisola, said the herders are trying to sell the dead cows to residents, adding that this portends health risk to his people.

The monarch said he had already reached out to his colleague at Ipole-Ekiti, Oba Oladele Babatola, on the need to warn their subjects against consuming such a desecrated meat.

"The two of us have alerted our subjects that there was an attempt to begin the sale of the cows and we are making efforts to prevent the intending buyers,” he said.

The traditional ruler called on the government to evacuate the carcasses to prevent spread of communicable diseases.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Sunday Abutu said the incident was yet to be reported to the command because it was a natural occurrence.

“We have not been told, but if the owner of the cattle later realises that someone was responsible, he will report at the police station and we will surely rise to the occasion, if such happens,” he said

Nairaland GeneralIs Dbanj Siding With Davido To Mock Burna Boy? by realG101(op): 9:23pm On Sep 17, 2020
One of the biggest speculations making the rounds in the Nigerian Music Industry lately is the beef between davido and burna boy.

Laying claim to the number one spot on the African continent, burna says he is better than everyone except the legend, fela Kuti.

He also says davido is an embarrassment to the industry and rose to limelight only owing to his father's money.

Davido has since made several statements on social media to correct burna's impress and has recently released a track 'Fem' which seeks to bully burna boy off the thought.

Dbanj under the guise of praising both artists recently posted the album art of burna's twice as tall and shortly after that, posted art of davido's hit single Fem.

Something seems not to add up here. Burna's album was released about a month ago but dbanj never posted or talked about it. Davido's FEM dropped and the next day the koko master hurried to his instagram to post both artists' works, captioning davido's song with the words 'I can relate'.

It is obvious dbanj may be on davido's side in this ongoing feud between the two younger artists, who knows.

I hope he doesn't get his hands burnt from burna's camp though.
