No it is not a must to sell to EU what do you suggest.

Nigeria is You.Start with yourself first that is where to begin the reorientation

How many machines have you bought?Talk is cheap. Is it their teeth they would use to buy machine People have bought and been buying machines and are processing but there is no market access.

Relatively speaking Ivory Coast and Ghana are much bigger producers but still they cannot get access.

To hell with Nestle is cheap talk. What is the action point huh
this man!

Do you know how much one of those machines cost? I know.

Several millions.. Google it.

Then installation costs and land.

I dont have the funds.

Do you know that a foreign palm oil pressing machine is over N5million?
But because the government bought it and copied it locally,
Today you can build a mill with just a little over N 1Million.

That is what am suggesting that governor should try and do..

I dont have cocoa here.. It's palm we have here.

It is excessive craving for foreign exchange that is crippling our minds! But just look at Dangote!

Who is consuming all that his selling to become the 66th most influential person in the world with a net worth of $13 billion?

Like I saidthey are processing it already but there are limits to what they can export because some countries simply will not allow you to sell anything but cocoa beans. They come up with all kinds of obstacles and claims of quality contamination etc. Many businessmen have been frustrated and it is clear that progress cannot be made unless a deal is made with the EU who are insisting on signing agreements to allow them access to your own markets too.

Nigeria too does erect barriers to imports e.g we claim to ban rice and the want full access to our market

No one is blocked from processing cocoa but there is a huge block in selling because SOMEBODY is doing that processing today and once you start you become competitors. The question is who is that somebody and how powerful arethey inthose countries

Nigeria has never had a good track record complyng with standards and our products often fail on hygiene and contamination grounds.

I remember issues with beans a few years ago.

Cocoa can be processed but this takes effort ,indeed we could grow our local consumption but again this is better done by a big company that is truly Nigerian not the likes of Nestle
who is consuming the soybean powder we are producing?

Is it a must to sell to EU?
We have a local market here that will not reject our products.

To he'll with foreign companies like nestle! If we buy the technology and make local machines available like in the palm oil industry, EU will beg us to export powder to us and they won't get any!

I fact, as I speak, I remember testing a product recently. It was pure cocoa powder. It was not made by nestle. I didn't check the name though.

We need more of that! And if the governor will encourage his people by buying the equipments and making local copies to make it cheaper, our cocoa industry will boom!

If you want you can learn how to make chocolate online and just buy raw cocoa and make to your taste.

Phew! Nigeria needs re-orientation

How come the north gets the most from the federation account with its 19 states, fraudulently bigger population and more LGAs even though they contribute almost zero revenue huh
NEPOTISM

The north does not have bigger population!

It is not statistically possible.
Nigeria cannot have up to 200 million citizens.

Why?

Lagos (our largest and most populated city) is about 21 million, right?

And port Harcourt is a known 5 million,
Let's say
Abuja has 10 million,
Onitsha has about 4 million...
Kano has 10 million (very questionable).

What's left is only 150 million
If we divide that by the remaining 32 states
We get over 4.6 million people per state...

Is that really possible?
Especially when you remember states like yobe, ekiti, Ebonyi?

Our current population figure is made up and the north are just using fake data to make fake assertions...

The north is not that populated

They do some processing in Nigeria but there is a problem of market access which is very politcal.

Companies like Nestle will fight access in their home country orthe EU because it isnot in their interest. Now we do not have equally big comanies here to fight as hard as Nestle fights

We need anothe 5 Dangotes in Nigeria to fght international trade battles
that is long story!
You want to tell me that there is something that will block someone from processing cocoa to powder and selling?

Why is government not blocking processing of soya bean to powder too Naa?

Notice how the north always says they feed nigeria but all of our exports are southern products? In fact we didn't start exporting rice until southerners got serious about it. Don't let anyone fool you about northern nigeria. Nothing is happening there.

But they don't record exports because they don't won't to pay TAX!

Everything they manage to produce, they smuggle out of the country through transmission transmitting effort for effective dollar earnings!

Northerners are the most shroud people in this country!

Nigeria’s cocoa export rises

MAY 19, 2018

OVER 300,000 tonnes of cocoa was exported from Nigeria last year, Executive Director, the Partnership in the Niger Delta, (PIND), Dr. Dara Akala, has said.

Akala spoke in Akure, Ondo Stste capital, during the Cocoa Value Chain Study Validation Workshop. “2017 saw an increase in the quantity of cocoa exported from Nigeria rising from about 250,000 tonnes exported in 2016 to more than 300,000 tonnes in 2017”, he said. “The increase was triggered by the devaluation of the Naira in 2016 by the Nigerian government in a bid to wade off recession. “While the devaluation of the Naira and subsequent increase in tariffs or outright ban of certain imported goods led to a 30% loss in the value of Nigeria’s currency in comparison to the United States of America’s Dollar.”

Nonetheless, he stated that products like cocoa enjoyed increased demand and production because of its viability as an export product. Akala urged government at all levels and other development partners to utilize the economic potentials available in cocoa production to cushion the effects of global oil doom. “As Nigeria’s cocoa production and export began to increase in 2017, the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) carried out a value chain study of the sector between January and April 2018,” he said. The PIND Market Development Projects Manager, James Elekwachi, said ‘’cocoa sector has the growth potential and the opportunity to increase income and employment for millions of people, especially the unskilled and semi-skilled in the region.”

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, also speaking at the occasion, revealed that the state government has embarked on several revolutionary measures to optimally utilize the cocoa potentials in the state for massive development.

process the cocoa here and export chocolate and power Beverages to the rest of Africa. The industry will employ skilled workers too!

How much is cocoa processing plant... That what the government should be asking!

Experienced and tested advice needed please.
I used to have a perfect relationship with a sister, every every worked well, until she began to keep too many male friends and they wouldn't stop asking her out.

I made her understand I wasn't comfortable with it, even if she claimed she was doing nothing with any of them, and truly I never did catch her but her chats with them will give anybody a different idea. They visited at will (and randomly cos it isn't just one guy) and will stay in closed doors 'gisting like she calls it'.

Well, I had to find a way out of the mess she was doing to my heart, so I broke up with her.

Twas really hard for her to get over me, and bla bla bla... She did try to get me back anyway, but I just couldn't bring myself back.

Fast forward...
I have another beauty now, and we've gotten along fine together. She is Meek, and this means she could be good to anyone, and anyone could be her friend...
She knows about my ex. initially, twas hatred my ex displayed for her, but now...

A day came and my ex came to my house to tell me, she's tried her best to get over me, and I couldn't help her heal, she's going to help herself and find a way to revenge.

Lately, she's almost always with my gf currently, she wants to go where my gf is going... Always in her room... In fact always with her. Somehow, I feel unsafe with it.

I've told my gf I don't like it like it, but I can't do more than that. Any good advice can help me right now.

stop deceiving yourself.

you will never get there.

as long as you are trapped in that disgusting and cursed black skin.

what you termed talking down on one's race is actually what I term saying the gospel and bitter truth.

to tell you the truth, almost everything about the black race makes me to facepalm.
and what you are doing right now is what makes me facepalm the most!

Just do what you have to do and be the best at it.
Forget what others are doing. (at least till you can affect/influence them is some way)

Now tell me... What stops you from inventing the next social media device or app to rule the world?

What's stopping you from being the best singer in the world?
What's stopping you from building the first self-aware robot?

This talking /thinking down of the blacks is what keeps us from growing.

So what some of our black men were sold into slavery?

Remember, it was the weak, useless or treacherous of us that were sold into slavery.

The strongest and smartest remained here in Africa. And the white men traded with them. (they did not take anything they wanted: they traded)

USA an over 500 years old country.. Nigeria is barely 55 years old... And even less for many other African countries.
we will get there and beyond!

PoliticsRe: How To Join Politics by RealityShot: 9:05pm On May 19, 2018
mathinips:
HOW TO JOIN POLITICS

Having convinced you that you can actually be actively involved in politics without contesting elections, let's consider the steps you need to take to get started.

1. Identify your Ward:
The ward is the smallest unit of Government in Politics. The Political Head of a Ward is called Councilor. Every politician must compulsorily be a card-carrying member of a political party at the ward level. This however is with the exception of those who choose to contest election as or support independent candidates. Your ward is not necessarily your home town but the locality where you will most conveniently carry out your political activities. It is also advisable that you also register with INEC as a voter in this ward.

2. Make the Choice of Political Party:
Consider the available political parties in your area and make a choice. I advise you study the manifesto and constitution of the party you want to join and agree that you align with her. Unfortunately, in Nigeria's nascent democracy, ideology is not well defined in the existing political parties, therefore, they almost share basic ideologies.

3. Get involved in Ward activities:
The least you can do as a politician is to attend your ward meetings. Get deeply involved at this stage. Contribute at meetings and assist once in a while in footing party bills either in kind or cash. This not easy and takes time and plenty of efforts. Once in a while, sponsor refreshments at meetings or volunteer to transport some members to meetings or other activities.

4. Identify like-minded believers in the party to relate with:
This is very important as decision are taken in politics based on majority of opinions. It is important that you align with your own class of people to ensure that decisions taken are not to the disadvantage of your interest.

5. Relate Well With The leaders:
That you want to make changes in the politics of your environment does not mean castigating existing leaders. Celebrate them for the good they have done and be silent on their evils, at least for a start. Success in politics is about who you know and not necessarily what you know.

6. Volunteer to be part of Campaigns/Party Activities:
Every political campaign and political activity needs hard workers. If you want to get an idea of how politics really work, walk into any campaign office of a candidate and offer to help out. You'll likely be asked to do what appears to be menial work at first, things like helping to register new voters or making phone calls and/or test messages on behalf of a candidate. But if you do the job well, you'll be given more responsibilities and more visible roles in the campaign.

7. Pay attention to Political Information: Unfortunately many are political illiterates. Before you get into politics, you ought to know what you're talking about and be able to hold an intelligent and thoughtful conversations about the issues. Local politicians and indeed the community respect you when you have better information at hand. That alone makes you a point of reference in your locality. Therefore, read your local newspaper(s), statewide newspapers and national newspapers. Be alive on the social media for information.

8. Get involved in your Community:
Attend Landlords/Residents meetings. Network with and be in good terms with local groups e.g The Vigilante, etc. Build coalitions dedicated to changing and improving your town such as the CDA or Tribal Unions. PTA meetings and Cooperative Societies are equally good places to be for upcoming politicians.

9. Build character and good name:
A good name is better than silver and gold. As corrupt as our society is, a good name still speaks volume. Strive to build for yourself and generations after you a good name. In whatever capacity you are entrusted with responsibility, make a good opportunity to leave a lasting impression in the hearts of the people.

10. If you must contest, start small:
There is no spirituality in insisting that certain offices are too small for you. Start from the grassroots and gradually work your way to the top. "All politics is local."
Thank you O!
Me, I have been planning to join party.

Now I have a better game plan.
