Few days ago here, someone was saying that there is nothing like being detribalized and I could only laugh at such an inane take.
Myself and I'm sure many others here have spent most of our lives in cities which are by nature diverse. Throughout our lives in this modern era, we've been exposed to different cultures, different habits, different foods, people of diverse backgrounds etc etc.

Many of us here had teachers from very diverse backgrounds and denominations, we had friends from different tribes, such that our tribal identities have been shed to a very large extent.

For me as an individual, my name may be the only tribal identity I possess. I barely dress in Igbo traditional attire, my meals are a blend of different traditions, I barely speak my language because I'm in a city. I mean I want to think that I'm as detribalized as can be. I'm not defined by my tribal identity and I don't carry my tribe for head.
Afterall, my great great grand parents were killing twins for fun. They were sacrificing their fellow human beings to invisible deities, they were segregating amongst themselves (osu). Should I be proud of such a culture??

What is the benefit of belonging to a particular tribe? What is the natural advantage an Igbo person has that a Yoruba person doesn't and vice versa?
Tribe is a human construct that needs to he cast away as soon as possible. Tribalism is simply a tool of division amongst the human race. How do you explain a person who claims he's successful in life harboring an opinion such as this?

If there is anything I hate aside being idle, its Culture especially the ones display in my state. Whoever experiences the so culture from my tribe will know that, that shit has caused more harm, segregation, pains, loss, death and injustice to the women than good. Distroy made some good points especially on how we waste valuable time on frivolities instead of bettering our lives with said time, 4-8hrs a week learning a particular skill for 6months will make a whole lot of difference for us. An indepth knowledge of Excel and SQL will offer you a good paying job that will help foot your bills then add Python or R knowledge to it and you'll be a king in the Data Analysis space.
I am advising those who want to change their financial standing to learn a skill and master then do some projects whether paid or volunteered and showcase to prospective clients as evidence of your proficiency. Some of my friends/acquaintances who took the IT path seriously are living a better life than me at the moment and I am happy for them because some of them I showed them the path even though I didn't follow through with it.
SimplyLearn has a course on Football Analysis for those of us who are interested in football analysis that's a good starting point it's pointless arguing about football on threads and we are not making money off it using our skills, football clubs are constantly looking for good data analysts to help them tackle the issue of poor recruitment and tactical issues.

CONCERNED KOGI STATE STUDENTS

LETTER OF PETITION OVER REFUSAL TO CONDUCT THE NAKOSS 2022 ELECTION

In the spirit of patriotism and profound desire to resuscitate and emancipate the National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) NATIONAL SECRETARIAT. We acknowledge the kind gesture and steps in the right direction of His Excellency Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello toward Students welfare and quality education in Kogi State.

Every Kogi State Students would recall that the outgoing Executive Council of the NAKOSS were elected into office August 2021, with their tenure long overdue.

In preparation for the election and formation of a new Executive Council to pilot the affairs of the association for another dispensation, an Electoral Committee was inaugurated and given the power to pilot the association for a shorter period whence the an election would take place to elect the new EXCO, as part of their duties, the Electoral Committee conducted a free and fair screening to filter out the most qualified among the multiple Candidates vying for the various positions justly allocated among the Senatorial Districts.

What prompt the raising of concern is the recent action of some government officials that have continue to halt the process that was coming up smoothly, the dates of the elections scheduled were altered severally to the discomfort and against the will of the great Kogi State Students at home and in the diaspora whose desires where already at the top height to elect a credible and competent Leaders to take the baton of the association for a new term of office, the Students are asking questions on the activities of some Government officials that are so opaque to understand. Of recent, the schools in which NAKOSS is duly registered as local chapters were confirmed and registered as eligible schools to vote during the election numbering at forty-three (43) but on contrary to this fairly registered schools, a list was released soon carrying the names of over 150 Institutions who are confirmed to never had NAKOSS registered in them, this mischievous list was orchestrated by some of the cohorts in this administration who are taking powers into their hands.

What is worth noting is that all the Candidates vying for these various positions are Members of the APC and that should strike out the fear of whether or not the loyalty to these persons will be maintained.

As a Concerned Student, it is paramount to question the activities of the Appointees of the government mainly, Hon. Isha Onimisi Babangida, SSA on Students matter and the NAKOSS Stakeholders with their hands already stained, this is far against what His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello the Governor of Kogi State and our principal is known to align himself with from the onset of his administration which is to enshrine justice, equity, fairness, and peace in all spheres of affairs of Kogi State.

It is therefore necessary to call on the government and Members of the Kogi Students Community at home and outside to note that the association is becoming jeopardised and must be redeemed at all cost from the hands of the miscreants in the corner of power and the NAKOSS Stakeholders, bringing their selfish interests first before the masses that they represent. We therefore want to state that we want an election to be conducted in NAKOSS freely and fairly to give us the chance to elect our Leaders, the released new list of registered school is hilarious and manipulative and must be dumped in the nearest waste bin for the right thing to be done as soon as possible.

To the government officials parading an unpopular and all angles incompetent Candidates, we deem it necessary to inform you that it is high time you left the Students to decide their affairs as it favours them without your unsolicited and undue interventions, NAKOSS is our own and we are capable of managing it to success.

Kwankwanso performance as a Governor, legislature, Minister plus his age puts him in a position to lead but you're pushing someone who was cursed by his people during his tenure as both Governor and economic adviser is the best bet to lead the country according to some of you who wants competence, experience and change. We also have other less known candidates who are better than the popular ones but we are to believe it's all about competence, experience and youth.
May we be saved from the deception of Satan.

I can't just swallow the reality of Hausa/Fulani leading Us again. The Kwankwaso of a Man is good but we need fresh air a little from this present Fulani administration after all we have more competent hands vying for the same post.
