@Recognise

Don't chuckle

think whether its rational to send someone to hell for ETERNITY

because of the way he lived 70 years or so, some dont even live up to that.

That story is a stupid story I read that track

when I was 6 YEARS old and it didnt make sense at all

Why will god not let someone enjoy what he he has laboured for for years,

he only enjoys sending people to hell and having vegeance. P

ls conscience tells you when someone is good/bad.

Keep your judgement threat to yourself

@Rich_john

"That story is a stupid story . . . " you said

This is like the

"Pesin wey see poison, but no wan gree instead hin dey insist the ting be vegetable"

grin The rationale you queried.

The same way EVE rationalised. Yeah?

"Hmm, it looks good to the eyes, would make one wise, and its good for food" she reasoned

LUST of the EYES, PRIDE of LIFE & LUST of the FLESH - SIN encapsulated grin

Alas the futility of the conscience, and its ability to discern what is good or bad

Ah! If you do the right thing, at the right time whilst been on GOD's right side

you'll have eternity to enjoy the fruits of your labour smiley

Mind you years is miniscule compared to eternity

"He only enjoys sending people to hell and having vegeance" you also said

Oh no on the contrary He doesnt enjoy it the least, God is hurting

That is why its often said, He is long suffering in silence.

He is not looking forward to the day of judgement

because of not wanting to bear seeing peeps sentenced to hell

Whether you like the tune or not

God is a Judge, there will be a day of reckoning

Religion / I, A Former Islamic Extremist . . . by Recognise: 11:49pm On Sep 09, 2009
I, a former Islamic extremist, feel we have given in to the fanatics
By Ed Husain

Like many young British Muslims, I was 'radicalised' at college. Just as the three British-born men who were found guilty this week of plotting to blow flights out of the sky were recruited at school, I encountered extreme Muslims at the age of 16 and was slowly converted to their ranks.

At my East London college, the Islamic society was run by the extremist group Hizb ut Tahrir, which believes in setting up an Islamic state, destroying Israel, and denounces Western values.

At first, I, too, was convinced by their rhetoric. However one awful violent moment changed me for ever. A young African man was knifed to death by the Muslim contingent at the college, simply for being a non-believer.

After a petty row over the use of the snooker table, the Muslim group issued a call of Jihad against the young man and summoned their Hizb ut Tahrir contacts for 'outside backup'.

An operative arrived and plunged a dagger into the boy's heart. The victim's name was Ayotunde Obunabi and I saw him lying dead. To Hizb ut Tahrir his life was worthless because he was not a Muslim.

At that moment I understood the consequences of the rhetoric of radicalism.

The murder, in 1996, compelled me to walk away from extremism. Now I believe I have to speak out about what I see happening in Britain before a terrible act of terrorism claims yet more lives.

Although one fanatical Muslim cell has been caught, this is no time for complacency. Make no mistake, terrorism is flourishing in our country as never before.

Why? Because a toxic combination of politically correct policy, denial and fear have opened the way for hate to grow in our midst.

Unwilling or unable to recognise the scale and cause of the danger we are all facing, our leaders have turned a blind eye to what is going on.

There are now tens of thousands of Muslims living in Britain, physically present in our country, but psychologically attached to Muslim-dominated countries.

Large parts of our cities have become Muslim ghettos, where you can wake up in the morning and go to bed at night without seeing a non-Muslim face.

They might as well be in Pakistan or Afghanistan for all the contact they have with ordinary Britain. They can send their children to Muslim state schools, go to Muslim NHS doctors, and do business at the Islamic bank.

Not only this, but we, the taxpayers, fund many of these Muslim ghettos. When immigrants arrive in this country to claim free housing from the Government, they are given a choice of Muslim areas to settle in. Why do we allow this? Why not offer these new arrivals housing where they can integrate with the British people and learn about our nation's culture?

Meanwhile, our prisons have become recruiting centres for radical imams, or Islamic priests.

Around 10,000 ordinary Muslims are in our prison system, sharing space with convicted terrorists and extremists, putting them at risk of brainwashing.

But instead of protecting them from this, our system actually directs them towards these forces. So when a young Asian drug dealer from Bradford's streets goes down, he is designated a practising Muslim, whether he was previously religious or not.

He is issued with a prayer mat and a copy of the Koran and is handed over to the prison imams, many of whom come from the same Islamic school of thought that produced the Taliban. Time and time again, I have seen Muslims go into prison as young Asian men, and return to their communities as something very different.

Then there are the satellite television stations that freely transmit the radical Islamic message straight into British homes. Thousands of UK Muslims-watch the Islam channel for their news instead of the BBC or ITN.

The tragedy is that it doesn't have to be like this. There are four million Muslims living in America, and yet they are not producing 'home-grown' bombers like ours, despite America leading the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that are so often cited by extremists as the root cause of their grievance.

Because of their stronger national identity, the Americans encourage immigrants to join their culture and newcomers are expected to be loyal to the U.S.

For us, it is not too late. We can reverse the damaging policies that have made Britain a seedbed for terrorists. But if we fail to do so, I fear we will see further carnage unleashed on our streets.

Doom-mongers predicted this is what could happen to the world today.
It's 9/9/09 and the doom-mongers have predicted in the past that the world will end today.

But if you're reading this, then we think it's safe to assume it hasn't.

The ninth day of the ninth month of the ninth year, was said by some to signify the end of the planet.

Over the past few weeks, bloggers and conspiracy theorists have devoted their energies to convincing us that the numbers have mystical significance.

Would the world be sucked into a black hole created by the Cern particle collider in Switzerland?, some asked.

Others were certain there would be a devastating outbreak of killer swine flu.

One user of the alien-earth.org website reportedly wrote: "Note that 999 is 666 upside down."

But instead, the most exciting thing likely to happen today is the announcement of a possible new Apple iPod or release of the Beatles back catalogue by Apple.

Today's 9/9/09 is set to follow in the same way that the millennium passed without a single horseman of the apocalypse and when three years ago that 06/06/06 turned out to be a pretty boring Tuesday.

Many Christians accept the Muslim claim that we both worship the same God.

They claim that they call him Allah, while we call him God.

It is not unusual to hear Christian leaders make such statements.

Bible societies have even gone so far as to use the name Allah in the Bibles they produce for Arab Christians.

The problem with this is two-fold.

First, history and archeology show clearly that Allah was worshipped as a pagan moon god long before Mohammed came on the scene. smiley

Religion / Humans Are Hardwired To Believe In God by Recognise: 5:27pm On Sep 06, 2009
Humans are hardwired to believe in God, say scientists

Humans are born with an innate ability to believe in God which has been passed down through thousands of years of evolution, new research has suggested.

Scientists stumbled on the idea after studying the way children’s brains develop, as well as how the brain works during religious experiences.

They suggest that during evolution, groups of humans with religious beliefs, perhaps because they tended to work together better - and therefore stood a greater chance of survival.

The findings, reported in The Sunday Times, suggest that children are born with a natural inclination to think about faith and the supernatural about the world we live in.

It deals a blow to the beliefs of atheists who campaign against organised religion, like Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion.

He has long argued that religious beliefs result from poor education and childhood 'indoctrination'.

However, Bruce Hood, professor of developmental psychology at Bristol University and author of the new study, believes the picture is far more complex.

He said: 'Our research shows children have a natural, intuitive way of reasoning that leads them to all kinds of supernatural beliefs about how the world works.

'As they grow up they overlay these beliefs with more rational approaches but the tendency to illogical supernatural beliefs remains as religion.'

Mr Hood will present his findings at the British Science Association’s annual meeting later this week.

He says organised religion is just part of a wide spectrum of supernatural beliefs.

In one study he found even ardent atheists balked at the idea of accepting an organ transplant from a murderer - because of a superstitious belief that an individual’s personality could be stored in their organs.

'This shows how superstition is hardwired into our brains,' he said.

His work is supported by other researchers who have found evidence linking religious feelings and experience to particular regions of the brain.

They suggest people are programmed to get a feeling of spirituality from what is nothing more than electrical activity in these regions.

Andrew Newberg, professor of radiology at the University of Pennsylvania, has used brain-imaging techniques to show that such feelings are invoked by activity in 'belief networks' operating across the brain.

This supersedes the earlier concept of a 'God spot', activated during meditation or prayer.

'The temporal lobe interacts with many other parts of the brain to provide the full range of religious and spiritual experiences,' he said.

This mechanistic view of religious experience is reinforced by separate research carried out by Michael Persinger of Laurentian University, Ontario.

Mr Persinger has used powerful magnetic fields to induce visions and spiritual experiences in volunteers.

Barbara Hagerty became one of Persinger’s subjects while researching Fingertips of God, a book on brain processes underlying religion.

'I saw images and cartoonish figures,' she said.

'It didn’t convince me there was no God, but it did show me how much the brain is connected to our beliefs and perceptions.'

Some researchers argue that humans’ innate tendency towards supernatural beliefs explains why many people become religious as adults, despite not having been brought up within any faith.

Scientists believe that the durability of religion is in part because it helps people to bond.

Professor Pascal Boyer, an anthropologist at Washington University and author of Religion Explained, supports Hood’s view that the origins of religion may lie in common childhood experiences.

The professor said in a recent article in the science journal Nature: 'From childhood, humans form enduring and important social relationships with fictional characters, imaginary friends, deceased relatives, unseen heroes and fantasised mates.

'It is a small step from this to conceptualising spirits, dead ancestors and gods, who are neither visible nor tangible.'

Boyer says he holds out little hope for atheism.

'Religious thinking seems to be the path of least resistance for our cognitive systems,' he said.

'By contrast, disbelief is generally the work of deliberate, effortful work against our natural cognitive dispositions — hardly the easiest ideology to propagate.'

The Rev Michael Reiss, who is professor of science education at London University’s Institute of Education and also an Anglican priest, said he saw no reason why such research should undermine religious belief.

'I am quite sure there will be a biological basis to religious faith,' Reiss said.

'We are evolved creatures and the whole point about humanity is that we are rooted in the natural world.'

You guys would be shocked how many false/ faulty doctrines exist in christianity today as a result of mis-translation.

It is almost as if 90% of what the church holds on to were mis-translated.

All you need to do is get a good bible concordance like STRONG'S concordance

This is also partly the reason why I seem to be against most churches, their doctrines are based on ignorance fueled by mis-translations.
