EducationNigerian University That Deserves To Be Among World's Top 100 Universities? by RedCard1(op): 12:18pm On Sep 18, 2013
Earlier this month, a list of the World's Top 100 Universities was published (anyone who can post a link to the list should do it please because I don't know how to create a link). As usual, universities in the US lead the list followed by the UK universities.

Universities in Canada, Japan, China as well as Australlian Universities all made the list. I don't think an African University had a spot on that list.....you guys should correct me if am wrong. I haven't been to the US or UK but I believe some of the Universities they listed are no longer as good as they used to be which is why Oxford didn't take take the number one spot.

Some of the schools might have been overrated. While I believe Unilag, Uniuyo, FUTO and even Unizik my dream Uni are overhyped and undersevedly glorified, I still think a Nigerian University deserves atleast a mention. Even when top African Universities are mentioned, Nigerian Universities are usually left out or placed at the bottom of the list but I don't think we are that bad.

I think it's high time they place a Nigerian Uni on the top 100 Universities list even if it would be at the bottom. I don't know what you guys think but am voting Uniben. I think they deserve an honorary mention.

Next time, we'll be talking about good and bad Nigerian school hostels.

BedLam: The most annoying one; when someone like Omotola is on the phone and suddenly, maybe the caller just told her that her husband was involved in a car crash.

OMOTOLA: WHAT?

And I ask myself, must it be what?

Note: everyone of them is guilty of this one.
so true but I think the worst culprit is Ngozi Ezeonu

D'banj should be removed ASAP! The guy isn't a good dresser @all. Even Darey Art Alade would have been a better contender. Dayo Okeniyi is cool. I don't know who the rest really are.

Amanda of 95.9 Cool FM PH is the worst. This is why I just prefer WAZOBIA FM even though I don't understand some of their pidgins.

yeah but it's not bad. My fear is that D'banj can't sing to keep the review alive. That his "don't tell me nonsense" track is on my list of worst Naija songs of 2013. I still like him sha

EducationGetting A Credit Pass In WAEC Gce....what Does It Require? by RedCard1(op): 8:06pm On Sep 14, 2013
My fellow nairalanders I greet you all. I'm a young boy of 19 years based in Port Harcourt. I wrote my SSCE (WAEC) back in 2011 and I made 7 credits, 1 B and D7 in mathematics and my choice of course is Mass Communication. After seeing the result, I was sad but many people told me universities accepts D7 in mathematics for Mass Communication. Since then I have been trying my best in getting a school that would accept me. I visited UNIZIK and IMSU websites and I saw @least a pass in maths. But when I called the numbers I saw on the websites, I was told it's difficult to get admitted which such grade. Their websites are misleading. That made me go for WAEC GCE this year. I wrote Mathematics today and it was so tough, the invigilator didn't allow us (candidates) get any form of assistance. I'm not a dumb head but maths has been a difficult subject for me right from my secondary school days. I don't look for help during English Language exams because I can write English myself no matter what. Back to today's Maths, we had 12 essay questions to answer 10. Out of that 10, I wrote 5 (shamefully, I copied 1 from my seat mate). I'm very sure of getting 3 out of the 5 questions I answered correctly. I wrote objectives very well but I'm bothered on the essay part. How many essay answers guarantees a credit pass? Do you a University that accepts D7 in Mathematics for Mass Communication? I'm not a pessimist, I'm just being concerned about my future. Some of my class mates are in schools already. I'm challenged. Please I need replies. I wrote Post UTME @IMSU this year and my result wasn't released but I'm not worried about that because I'hv forgotten about this year's admission, it's next year's things. Moderators, please take this to the front page, I need advices. Thanks.

Nobody knows 2face, D'banj and even P Square. Forget the hype they all get over here. Wale and many others you listed are not claiming to be Nigerians so they don't qualify to be on that list. As for Asa and Nneka, I agree @least for the quality songs they are both known for.

omotayos01: we share d xame thought bt one thin we cant take away frm idevice is their resale value. Honestly if i av d moni i wud go 4 apple product anyday any time base on d resale value compare to android simply bcs android phone depreciate in price wit a blink of an eye y bcs d android plantform is over saturated wit many OEM though d competitive market is gud 4 d consumer bt they are sum tin u luk b4 getin a phone. D iphone of 2010 is stil sought afta compare to and android of 2010 and dat y i like idevice. Iphone 5 of last year we stil b relevant and sought after in 3 years to come compare to s3 frm samsung.
I agree there are lots of peeps that gets carried away by the brand name 'APPLE'. Personally, I dislike phones that are a year old in the market. I love getting a phone the year it got released. Even if a year old iphone sells for 30k, I can't demand for it. Even if Samsung Galaxy S Dous sells for 15k, I won't get it cos it's not a new phone. There are people that are still saving for iphone 4 though. But I hate old phones...I always feel like they are washed out and useless.

Apple has just been overhyped since all these years just like Blackberry. Their devices are just overpriced. My elder nephew is crying for wasting over 90k on iphone 5. My elder brother who bought a Samsung Galaxy Mega for less than 60k is enjoying his money. Apple never see anything. They now want to start making mid-range phones but we know they can't stand a market ruled by Samsung, Sony and even LG.

This man should leave Bianca alone. Whether he had a relationship with her or not, it shouldn't be an issue here. For me, what Bianca did to have married the late Ojukwu is good because she regained her relevance in the process. Mr Kayode is just trying to gain popularity via beautiful Bianca. He should stop acting like a kid and grow up. If Bianca is Jezebel, then Mr Kayode is the Lucifer.

Yenagoa doesn't qualify to be there unless it's not the Yenagoa that I'hv been to 6 times this year. You guys should forget these pictures you are seeing here. Go inside Yenagoa and see for yourself. Warri deserves to be there especially for the fact it's not a state capital. I'm suprised Makurdi and Umuahia are not done with their boom yet. These states have been booming even before I was born. Ikot Ekpene is beautiful though.

Most handsome footballers and Didier Drogba is number 1? You even included Emmanuel Adebayor.......you must be high on drug. We are not talking about best footballers o. Where did you drop Osaze Odewinge? Osaze is far more handsome than Mikel even though Mikel's thing dangles in his short all the time. Lol.

when are we getting the amber update? My Lumia 520 is very boring to me....MS needs to work on upgrading WP8. I won't say Nokia should go the Android way because the Android market is over crowded which is why HTC and LG are dying in obscurity due to threats from Samsung. But honestly, if Nokia had joined the Android race, Samsung would have been struggling. Nokia had dreams which they brought to life some years back. I don't know what went wrong. Windows OS is more like a paparrazi stuff to me. Well, they might suprise us anytime soon.....nobody knows. I still regret buying that Lumia 520 though.
