These so-called rankings are loaded with cultural biases and basically measure how “livable” a city is to an Oyibo expat.

It has nothing to do with the reality of the lifestyles and cultural inclinations of the local/indigenous population (often derisively referred to as the “natives” or “locals”). The reality is that MILLIONS of Nigerians, other West Africans, Africans and sundry expatriates, have RANKED and VOTED on the livability of Lagos with their feet and wallets - streaming into and setting in Lagos in droves! What is “livability” for a roadside trader in Africa has NO nexus to what some turtle-neck wearing editor in New York or London considers as “livability”!

The whole of a country can never be like its commerical hub. There are places where there should be peace, tranquility and less of the commerical activities going on so that people who prefer less noise, less on-the-move kind of lifestyle can reside in those areas. This will mean that some places will definitely be and look more developed than other places doesnt mean that the less developed places are bad.

The whole of Nigeria should be like Abuja and Abuja should look like Dubai. That should be the standard. If not the system of government we are practicing in Nigeria, many other regoons in this country would have had their own form of development which is unique to them. You can imagine a government that does not consider a region as investable because of hate,how do you expect them to develop to the pace of a commerical capital that has acces to funds 200 times more than they can dream of.

Even with all the rubbish you are typing there, Lagos is still one of the Top 10 worst cities to live in the world. Go to the innercities and you will see the truth.

Even if you call them 5%ers but those 5%ers are always on the side of truth, nobody likes the truth anyway, so you wont find many there. The whole of Nigeria can now apologize to the chest-beaters.

To show you how foolish you are, mention prominent non-igbos who are doing well in their areas of expertise that live in Anambra. Were you expecting him to go to Oyo state and pick a yoruba person in his cabinet? I wonder how some of you think sef.

Why not tell a northern governor or a SW governor why they are not appointing non-indigenes in their cabinets. Like people always say, Lagos is a different place where peoppe from all tribes have come together to work for many many years and its only normal that you will see one or two individuals that will be appointed at the helm of affairs because rhe numbers from Lagos outweighs that of anyother state in Nigeria. Edit: Actually let me rephrase this, their leaders are standing with them because they have religious principles that bind them together both poor and rich. So for them, they are religiously obligated to one another and that is not the case for non muslims
