Hello guys. Some particles of soup got into my phone speaker and it's beginning to sound like the speaker is bad. I use a redmi note 5. Suggestions?
Get a can of compressed air and blow right through the speaker vents, this should clear most of the particles still stuck in there. If it didn't help, then you might want to get a speaker replacement. You should be more careful with phones/gadgets next time. Still wondering how you ended up with soup in your speakers tho. huh

So, basically i'm going to wait till 12th before it will be shipped. cry cry cry
Had a very disappointing experience with this store. Ordered a phone (gold colour) and waited for like 4 days for it to be shipped, only for them to tell me the gold colour version of the phone was out of stock, that they could send me rose gold colour if I wanted it, otherwise I can cancel the order. I repied them with a very furious rant filled with venom! I felt I was setup. Gold colour is costlier than rose gold.. They tricked me into ordering the gold colour, and then tried to sell me rose gold the price of gold. Cancelled the order immediately and got my full refund days later. Goldway/MiStore are more trustworthy, I guess.

Anyone using Redwolf recovery (Whyred) here? Pls have you been able to successfully backup and restore roms with it? Because users are complaining on the developer's thread...
PhonesRe: ### Xiaomi Thread For Tweaking Of Phones & Help Spot ### by Reddington(m): 10:38pm On Feb 01, 2019
GrandMufti:
Not necessarily. Just same steps to flash custom rom. I.e
-wipe (excluding internal memory)
-flash rom
-flash gapps
-flash dm - verity (optional).

The file is less than 1gb because it doesn't come with gapps. You can download any, but I use micro gapps.

Use titanium backup. Except if you're coming from miui, then you'll have to backup to an external storage and decrypt by wiping everything
Can you throw more light on this decryption/encryption of a thing while flashing roms, bro? So many references have been made to it on XDA..

Bros there is difference between MB and Mb
You'll have to divide one by 8 to get the other, megabyte and megabits
Sure bro. Completely missed the caps.
PhonesRe: The Xiaomi Thread. by Reddington(m): 5:23pm On Feb 01, 2019
genius43:
That is 9 megabits per second(Mbps). 9/8 will give you the speed in MegaBytes per second(MBps)
Thanks for this.

This fast(.)com internet speed measurement is very questionable. I wonder how they arrive at their figures. 9mbps? Not saying it's not possible, but really? I think your actual internet speed is the one right on your status bar; 1.19mbps.

I agree to disagree smiley

Since we brought up Samsung
You know you can adjust display quality right?
You can't compare someone using FHD battery consumption to someone using QHD.
Don't forget that I used Sammy/LG for quite a long time, and you've to believe me when I tell you I know exactly what I'm saying. AMOLED screens drain more battery than LCDs. #Fact. Phone users have pointed this out on countless Sammy forums. The AMOLED you see on Gionee M5 screen can't be counted as AMOLED... That's an adulterated AMOLED in my opinion, and yet the screen still gulps more than 50% of battery usage. Get a Sammy device with AMOLED screen and an LG device with LCD & a matching battery, compare it first-hand and you'll see the flaw in your argument.
#AmOut.

iSage:
The poor battery life is an issue with Samsung not the display technology. Amoled only uses a negligible amount of battery life more than LCDs when displaying bright colours. Using black themes helps to save more battery life that's why it's recommended.
The issue remains that AMOLED screens is partly the reason for Samsung's weak batteries. Like your said, it's a Samsung problem, but you can't completely ignore the role of AMOLED screens, bro. Otherwise why would users be advised to use dark themes/wallpapers?
This is an excerpt of a comment from a top developer and geek on Quora: "On an AMOLED screen, each tiny pixels are lit and that causes battery drain, however, when displaying black pixels, they don't light up therefore saving battery. However, overall it still drains more battery than LCD." This should clear everything, I guess.

Samsung j6 has the AMOLED screen display and it's Samsung's budget phone.

Please, IPS LCD of 2120 FHD+ screen resolution and AMOLED screen of 1620 HD,which one is more brighter and which is the best?.
If you want colour quality and richness, AMOLED is your best bet, but your battery will pay for it, except you've a good battery backup. For bright display, LCD.

I won't call the battery life a con since it comes with a super amoled display. It helps save a lot of battery.
I disagree bro. Super Amoled screens as I know is one of the biggest drainer of batteries out there, especially if you use very colourful/luminous wallpapers, that's why you're always advised by XDA developers to use dark wallpapers. If you want to understand Amoled screens better get any of the Samsung galaxy series from S2 to S8, they all use Amoled technology. Of course Samsung is probably the biggest patron of Amoled screens. It perhaps explains why they also have the worst battery. See? So you, linking super amoled screens with better battery performance is very disagreeable. I'm saying this from a very confident standpoint having used Samsung galaxy series for about 6 years plus.

He stated that "the buyer was cooperative" throughout. So it's only natural to repay his cooperation. Conscience is a very powerful force. I would find a way to pay him back if it was me. However if the seller was in any way strong-headed or ignoring my messages from the beginning, then I'll ignore him too when I get the item.

Watched it on BBC's Business Watch, this morning. However they made more revenue from services like Apple pay, Apple Music and Appstore. Revenue from iphone sales is on the decline.
Great to know that people are finally realizing that Apple has been ripping humanity off with their outrageously overpriced products. My uncle and my younger bro use iPhones and I handle them every now then, and I can categorically state that an average iPhone is an immensely overvalued piece of hardware... Nothing enticing whatsoever! Even their once-special retina display is on the wane. There are far far better products out there at a very reasonable price. Glad people are waking up! Sammy next!

There is absolutely nothing sellers on AliExpress can do about custom fees, you just have to take a leap of faith
At least they can declare an item as gift and a lower amount at the buyer's request. You stand a slightly better chance of evading the outrageous custom charges with these measures.

They finally shipped my phone for me after 10days
At this moment, shipping items isn't the problem - despatching is. The Chinese holidays is slowing down a lot of things. My item got shipped since Saturday night, and till today, it hasn't been despatched. I fear it won't get despatched until the holidays are over. I7track even stated on their website that some post offices will be closing down from 4th Feb to 7th. Na to pray..

I actually bought from them, they processed my order in 2 days altho I had to msg them, and I got my phone in 10 days, and also was not crazily billed by custom, just paid 1k.
And also they re having Chinese carnival from Feb 1 to 11th, was told by one of sellers, so my advice don't order from AE anytime now.
Order if you have the patience of 5 persons combined...
