Darkseid:
Happy Sunday people. I finally installed AEX ROM on my 5 plus and so far I'm enjoying it, but I have two complaints.
1. The navigation bar is still Oreo style, any way to get the new pie nav bar?
2. There is no option to change color temperature. I'm used to the "cool" option in miui, and without it, the display looks kinda washed out and whites look yellowish. This is a big deal breaker for me and without finding a fix, I'll just have to go back to miui.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks
Unfortunately there is no "fix". MIUI is different from AOSP in any possible way you can imagine. You CAN'T have everything in one rom, which is why there is no such thing as "the best custom rom". Individual preference has been the key-decider. It's either you sacrifice the colour temperature feature on MIUI and stick to AEX or you jejely port back to MIUI... Choice is yours grin

A case of an enchanted young man expressing his love for AEX on XDA.. grin
You might as well petition Xiaomi to pre-install the rom on their next releases.. grin

When did you order your phone, I just want to know how long it took before it got delivered to the P.O
Almost 3 weeks. But it don't really think the time you ordered matters.

which is better between miui pro and eu rom?
If you want a very customizable miui, then miuipro is the real deal. But if you want to keep it simple, fresh, neat and efficient, go for eu. Eu has better battery too, plus it's bug-free and firmwareless.

Still, no such thing as SOT on normal / fairly heavy usage. It varies across different individuals

Porting from one ROM to another, wont it wipe my phone data?
Porting from MIUI to AOSP-based roms and vice versa necessitates data wipe.

plucky16:
How pls?
Just enter your recovery (must be custom recovery), wipe data/cache and you are good to go.

Haven't tried MIUI EU but when i was on MIUI 10 Goabal, i searched around for a fix for app closing and tried a bunch of settings all to no avail. Maybe MIUI EU is different, i wouldn't know because i haven't used it.

AOSP is my new found love and i don't think I'll be using MIUI based ROM. I might hop on it once in a while to see what it's all about but will definitely head back to one of them AOSP ROMs.
Well EU rom corrected everything that went wrong on MIUI global. It's a neater, faster, more streamlined, optimized, moderately customizable version of MIUI global. If excessive customization is your cup of tea, then I'm sorry, EU is not for you grin

Yeah, I've said it before. WiFi cosumes less battery.

Will try to do a battery test on 3G/4G one of the days though. Let's see if i can hit that 10hrs SOT. grin
That would be highly unlikely. I'd like to see the test results tho. grin

SOT on AEX ..
I've seen virtually all your SOT screenshots on the most part of this thread and I noticed you're always on WIFI which generally consumes way lesser battery on android. Try switching to 3g/4g network and let's see your SOT after full charge... 10k says it'll drop significantly wink

MIUI based ROM are mostly way too aggressive on apps which is the major reason that made me leave. Battery on MIUI will always be better but any ROM that reaches 10hrs without closing my background apps unecessarily, I'm good with it.

Do you have the background app issue on MIUI EU ?
Not really, bro. No app issues whatsoever, at least not with the latest EU update for whyred. MIUI aggression on apps which you mentioned can be completely moderated by the user... Everything is customizable... You have the option to adjust the "aggression"... MIUI roms are extremely conscious of battery performance, hence they pay a lot of attention to apps' activities, and that's where my attraction lies majorly.. Dude, I don't joke with battery and optimization.

Whyred EU rom is bea..

NOTE: Before you start to wonder what happened to my navigation buttons, I disabled them as I found them old-fashioned and a little inconvenient...I completely rely on screen gestures..
Google already announced navi buttons will be phased out on Android Q.. So kiss

How far?
Hi dude. I later went to PO yesterday for my orders. I went there with N5,000 in my wallet having made up my mind that I won't pay more than that for custom charges. But surprise surprise, my orders (a Redmi phone and a leather pouch) were handed to me without any charge! I only paid the mandatory N500 handling charge. So I guess I was just lucky! Was so elated throughout yesterday I forgot someone was waiting for my feedback on Nairaland grin. Sorry for late reply, bro.

I don't understand what's happening o,two orders, one has been at Lagos since January 21 the other one has been there since 18th of this month, why is this happening to me na
Check PO bro. Happened to me sometime last year. My order arrived Lagos, and one week later it was still there (according to my tracking app). My instincts told me to check PO. To my surprise, it was there when I checked. The attendant told me it arrived 4 days ago. So bro check PO... It could be someone failing to do their job.. updating the tracking portal..

Lol.. what a coincidence bro! Just opened Nairaland and saw your mention, and then I checked my items on Nipost with respect to your enquiry... Guess what? It just arrived home about an hour ago. I'm a little far from the PO now. I'll try checking in the evening or tomorrow morning, and then give you feedback on customs, coz I'm sure that where your interest is. kiss

Is it just me or did anyone else notice NIPOST tracking portal has been down since the early hours of yesterday? Elections or what?

I think you're right . Prior to my order, i rarely saw anything negative about their services. I guess I'm just unfortunate. By March 2nd, I'll ask for a total refund and get another phone here in 9ja.
Could still land tho. Don't give up yet. Remember this post by @awesome99..

Faster than MI Global and D-Phone stores
Very true. Although I was a little bit disappointed with the time range between "despatched" and "arrival". I'm guessing it was because the items were shipped on the eve of Chinese New year holidays, otherwise HK Goldway are usually way faster.

Item hasn't arrived PO yet. Check the tracking details in the screenshots. I pray it escapes the evil hands of customs tho.
